Been to the doc's - DD was complaining her ear was sore before we left and it turns out she has the beginnings of an ear infection, a red throat but a clear chest. So she has some AB's, some cough medicine and some paracetomol. Decided against dragging her out as she looks very pale. Will see if she picks up later.

Clothes have been folded and are now in neater piles around the kitchen waiting to be taken to their respective owners rooms. DW has been filled but I have no tablets so when DH gets up (working late) I'll nip to Mr A's and pick up a bit of shopping.

JackieO - its plain to see whay you have such a lovely caring family...they obviously lead by your example x

Shame about DD JC, wee soul, make sure she's getting loads of cuddles.

Well, DS was very unhappy with doctor because as its not cancer he will have to do homework! I kid you not, I don't know whats going to come out of that boy's mouth next. Luckily he didn't say it to the doctor. He thinks its a gland, but as its a funny place for it to show up, I've to take him back in a few weeks and get it checked again. He also gave him a nose spray as he has allergic rhinitis, which I have known/thought for ages, but not done anything about as I was hoping his body would sort itself out. Bad mum.

JackieO you are a darling, and if you're looking to arrange any more surprises anytime soon, my birthday is December 13th ;):D

Flutterby, glad to hear you got some recognition atwork, but its no surprise to any of us, we all know you're fab! I thought your friend from Afghanistan might be home. Men are like buses for you, aren't they - none for ages, then they all turn up at once ;):rotfl:

Taplady, do you not know any elves who would be grateful for your cardi, or you could go the whole hog and felt it, and make something nice from it?

Csarina, hope DH is OK, it might be worth seeing the doctor yourself too.

I don't know what to do I feel like going out, but nervous about going on my own :o DSIs is working so if I want to, I have no choice. I was thinking I might manage to put a big dent in the Christmas shopping if I go today. Hmmm.

See you all later, take care.xxx

    JackieO that sound so lovely!!!

Hugs to all who need them today.

I had a bit of a lie in this morning, I was up quite late worrying about money and what ifs incase i don't get a (Permanent) job this side of christmas. So i've decided presents for christmas are on hold at the moment, even though i was going to do homemade gifts for all, i can't bring myself to spend money of the materials incase we can't feed ourselves in january...

Found a Ronnie Barker DVD boxset for £10 on amazon, so OH can have that for thursday :) my engagement ring was my present apparently so thats v. mse as it didn't cost a penny!

Got to clean bunny out today and I'm looking after my brother's hamster so will sort him out too (i'm terrified of hamsters so that will be interesting)

Also going to try out Lidl for the weekend's food. and get into Oxfam's bookshop as i finished my book last night and need an escape at the moment. I love second hand books, I always wonder who read them before me.

I should hear back from both jobs i went for yesterday today...wish me luck!!

    xx

  • bramble there are lots of ways to get secondhand books for free. Have you tried bookcrossing? google it and have a look and see if there are bookcrossing sites near you. People leave their books, and you read them, register online and review the book if you wish, then "set it free" at another bookcrossing site, and see where it ends up. I have even picked up books abroad when on holiday.

    Morning

Csarina- really hope its not CDiff back. There do seem loads of bugs about.Hugs

I had a bit better sleep last night,so feeling slightly more human-lasted till about 5 before I woke up coughing from 12.30.I remembered I had one of those big V shaped pillows that Dad used to have and dug itout, much better.DH is now complaining of a sore throat so hope its not the same thing.DS2 is just complaining- about all the germs in the house ,not much I can do about it other than keep wiping surfaces etc.

On a brighter note, which has cheered us up,my DN found out she's expecting a boy and his second name will be after my late DDad-she always did love her Grandpa :A.

DSons are keeping on top of the washing for me,and the house is tidy.Going to dig deep in the freezer for tea, there must be something simple I can rustle up.

I'm sending hugs & spoons in a big pile for everyone, but sorry I've not enough energy to do it by name :o xxxx

    morning all

have been food shopping today. walked down to morrisons as alan had work to do. got a bit too much and he had to come and rescue me with the car as it was too much to carry  had a snoop around a few shops as well as there is a retail park right next to it. so all in all it was an expensive morning but i'm feeling pretty pleased with myself

right now have to tackle the housework. has been abandoned lately again :o

I'm not very clever at making things, think it will be a charity shop case and hopefully a little person will benefit from it:D
