Sorry it is a little late butHappy Belated Birthday:beer:Have you heard back from CCCS yet? Well done on posting off the envelope - I remember that feeling all too well.Though I am very positive about my DMP experience so far, things still happen that worry me. At the weekend I had 5 missed calls on my mobile from an unknown mobile number. No messages left so immediately I think this is debt collection. Previously I avoided all phone calls as CCCS are dealing with it but as this was unusual to get calls now, it was really niggling away at me. So on Monday I decided to call the number to find out. Turns out it was a debt collection company that Northern rock had passed my details to for further collection. I finally got to right department who looked up my details and immediately apologised as all contact should be via CCCS.Assured me I wouldn't get any more phone call (we'll wait and see
) but I haven't received any more so far. I felt so relieved just to sort it out.
Christmas is always a tough time but I have managed to be in a better position than last year. No struggling too much and all the family know about my DMP so understand.Jubilee x
Hi jubilee
Thankyou for the birthday wishes.
No not heard from CCCS yet and i am not sure wether DMP will star Dec or Jan but have budgeted for Dec.
I had a nice email from Next yesterday thanking me for the 1.00 payment :eek:so i expect i will get a letter soon asking where the rest of it is lol!!!
TBH i am not too worried how i will manage financially (well once i get xmas over!!) as the DMP has budgeted for a lot more than i normally do they have allowed me nearly 400.00 for food  and i have never had that much so i am hoping i will be able to save a bit here and there to chuck at the debts.
But we shall see.
I'm glad you managed to get it sorted with the dca company perhaps it is a good idea to answer the phone now and again:eek:.
Anyway many thanks for your post speak soon x0 -
Now kid's have gone i can have the comp back for a min!!:j
Wages due in tomorrow but new debit cards not turned up yet!! (but pin numbers have).
Really need to tax car tomorrow but will have to do it at PO if not.
In a way i hope my tax credit payment goes into my old bank at least i know i can draw that out in the morning.
Have been scrabbing round for money today as no juice or anything for kid's packup! managed to find enough ingredients to make some flapjacks and they will have to take water! thought we were going to have to have beans on toast for tea but remembered i had a couple of portions of spag bolls in freezer so just added more toms:D
Roll on tomorrow lol!!!
Bad news is it is snowing here !!! i don't do driving and snow so if i have to go and help my brother tomorrow:eek:0 -
Hi Mum23
Isn't amazing how, even when we think we have no food in the house, we can still manage to feed our families!
Well done for getting the ebay stuff sorted, don't forget to get it listed at the weekend. Just tell the kids if they want Xmas pressies they have to let you use the pc:rotfl::rotfl:.
Hopefully the snow won't settle and you will be ok to drive in the morning, fingers crossed!!

Hi 321
Lol you always cheer me up (i think it's the font you use!!) you always sound so cheerful and positive and it def rubs off!!
Had a good day today very busy working for my little bro so had other things to think about rather than DMP!!!
Debit cards were here when i arrived home had to activate them by text (quickest) will be activated by 6pm tomorrow night  so another NSD for me it's annoying to think i can't get hold of my money (well i could i suppose if i went in the bank)but managed this long what's another day !!!
DD rang me in tears tonight she has an appraisal (sp) at work tommorrow and one of the older blokes who works there is awful a real bully and has been since day 1 (she's been there 2 yrs) he is horrible to some of the others aswell with his snidy remarks etc trouble is he is friendly with the boss so my DD and the others won't say anything but he is making her life hell:mad:.
I am so  as he is an older bloke with older kid's of his own how would he feel if his kids were being bullied at work!!!TBH i wouldn't hesitate i would go and say something and i keep telling her to speak out but she won't (i would like to go and smack him!!!) i would and i am happy to ring him but at the end of the day she is old enough and wouldn't thank me for doing so!!
Anyway 321 i will def list ebay stuff at weekend or otherwise i will have you to answer too!!!:p0 -
Hi Mom23
Well we've all made it to pay day and haven't starved to death.
Have decided that we are still spending too much on food so think I will actually write everything down this month - been meaning to for a while and think it will actually make me think about what i'm buying. Definately saving on kids pack lunches though. Been buying value rice pudding and making little jellies (9p does three jellies!!) Also put value tinned fruit in pots. My 3 are all teenagers yet my eldest said his friends all envy his jellies and banana custard!
Need to order some christmas presents this week as next payday too close to Christmas and don't want to be too broke in January. The boys understand things are difficult.
Like your son my eldest sells sweets etc at school!! He is lucky as he gets away with it as he is popular with the teachers so I think they turn a blind eye. Lets hope it helps them deal with money better than us.
No snow here but bloomin cold.
I hope your daughter is alright with that man. Its horrible when theres nothing you can do about it.
I'm going to do some ebaying as well at the weekend so need to do some sorting out.
Take care LL2xDMP mutual support member 3970 -
Hi Mum23 I just thought I would pop in and say hello again - I hadnt realised you had a diary and reading it realise we have about the same amount of debt too. Like you I have nothing flashy to show for it all. Mine has accumulated after a divorce and a few emergency necessary purchases as well as just trying to survive with my two children DD15 and DS12
(OK ok ok .... possibly does include the odd bottle of "emergency" wine too
).
Anyway - soooo glad its payday today for me but have survived a month so far and have a whopping £7.10p cr.. yes CR.. CREDIT(yay credit :j) balance in my basic bank account for the first time in years - so I am a happy pixie- will pop in and see how things are going - in meantime take lots of care and keep up the good work :T PX

Hi twinmum
Game of scrabble went well half expected arguments but pleasantly suprised!!
You are brave going it alone don't think i could at the mo!
Have skimped through you diary how did you manage to get your OH on board? mine just sit's there and nod's!!
Hi
Another belated Happy Birthday from me.
Have you heard back from CCCS yet?
Hope your card has turned up at least.
We have tried debt busting before but i have found that the real key this time has been having DH on board. I have put him in charge of money things really so he maintains the accounts and gets to put in all the payments so he sees it going down and I guess it is that motivation that gets him into it really. When we started debt busting this time my our son was 9 weeks old so my only income was Child Benefit so it made sense for him to go through everything and do the SOA really.
Hope your weather is improving. I am fed up of snow, ice and slush alreadyEst. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)Working together with DH on our debts (twindad07)Long haulers supporters DFW #2560 -

Hehehe, glad to be of some assistance:rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry to hear of your DDs problems at work, is she in a union? maybe her local rep could offer some advice. I don't know what sort of company she works for but most have a grievance policy especially where bullying and harrassment are concerned - it's a big no no these days. She needs to keep a diary of any events and the circumstances (ie if others were witness) to produce as evidence and encourage others to do the same. I hope her appraisal went ok - I am assuming it's not a disiplinary hearing as if it is she should be entitled to have a rep/friend/relative in with her for support.
Fingers crossed for her.
Now go and do that ebaying:rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah:j Payday arrived so let the challenge commence lol!
Finally had my debit card activated last night so today i have done an online Mr T shop for tomorrow (would
have normally left it till monday and managed but with the snow!!)
Have spent approx 95.00 i have made a careful menu plan for the next 3 weeks and shopped accordingly I am hoping (bar any fresh stuff etc) that i should manage on this although i haven't included soap powder as i still have tons left .
So with a bit of luck this should take me up to xmas ish I know it doesn't sound a lot to feed 4 but it's amazing how many meals i can get from 800g of mince:money:i do try and do 5 proper meals a week and the other 2 are just beans on toast or some such.
Mum has insisted that she is buying all the xmas food:eek: as she wants to help out all she can bless her,it makes me feel really bad that at my age i am still having to rely on mum:o
Still not sure if DMP starting on 1st Dec or not but i have allowed for it.
Pixie.
Glad you managed to pop over lol and yes i have the odd bottle of emergency wine!
Big nose lloyds:D are still not aware of our situ at the mo but this time next week they will be :eek:think they are going to be the biggest battle!

Ebay stuff all listed:p Well nearly!!0 -
Good Morning.
Sounds like you've done really well on the shopping. I've also done an online shop. Although theres a delivery charge I do think i'm less tempted to throw extras in. And TBH it can cost a fiver in petrol.
Snowing here too today. I had an automated call from Triton demanding payment for the joint OD (the rest on OH's name so DMP is in his name) This is despite the fact that I have telephoned them, and payplan has sent them a letter saying that the DMP is joint for the purposes of that account. On the phone I was told they would be freezing interest on that account:(:(
Anyway thats the least of my worries as the loan is much bigger so expecting an even heavier handed approach.
My mum also gives us money for Christmas food which this year will be very gratefully received but as you say I do feel ashamed that at nearly 50 we are in this position. But at least we are taking steps in the right direction.
Got a new ironing customer Monday although it may be a one off so the 20% discount will bite hard. OH has also earned £30 as he is doing DIY for a lovely local lady.:)
