Happy Birthday MOM 23:beer:
Hope OH bucks his ideas up and you enjoy the rest of your day. I always remember important stuff in the middle of the night then can't sleep even though there's nothing you can do about it at that hour.
Well i'd put my ironing money away for Christmas BUT we had a £200 unexpected car repair today. So upset about it but I suppose if I hadn't had that money put by we would really be in a mess now. It's just a bit soul destroying.
Same as you have nothing in the bank but a small unexpected payment went out and we were 36p OD. Luckily I had checked our account so had to dash down to pay it in. Looks like three long days for all of us.:(
Still able to offer a choice for sons for tea. Chicken soup, baked beans on toast or baked potatoes. We know how to live:D
Aww Thanks LL
Annoying about your ironing money:eek: 1 step foward 2 steps back syndrome!! it's the unexpected that hit's us hard.
My 11yr old came home from school with a box of roses for me bless :Tturns out he sold 2 cans coke at school for 1.00 each (he bought them in a multi pack work out about 21p each lol!) he's a real Del boy think i may let him take over my finances!!!
we are def all living the dream!!!:rotfl:
Take care x0 -
:bdaycake:Happy birthday, sorry your OH forgot. At least the kids remembered.0

Well woke about 5 ish again this morning! too much going on in my head to sleep!
But can't do much as don't want to wake the house up so thought i'd come on here rather than sit downstairs thinking of things (am sitting here trying to type quietly but it sounds really loud lol).
DD came round last night and brought me some lovely pressies:jand she also helped me set up a spreadsheet (cos i'm thick!!) she is a trainee acc so should be able to help me sort things out (mind you her own finances are not that brill but having seen the mess i'm in i hope she learns by it!).
DD also brought loads of things for me to sell on ebay:jso will have to get listing.
I hope my debit card turns up from nat west today as i need to set up online bankin (i did request it on the app form but they say i didn't:eek:) can't live without my online banking and wages due un on thursday so i need to check first thing if not will have to get down to lloyds a bit sharpish and draw them out.
Phone rang last night but i didn't rec number so didn't answer (think it could have been my brother wishing me H appybday but he has just moved and i haven't got his new number) what a wuz but it made me feel quite sick supose i will have to get used to it!! will be glad when i get to rec preditors numbers.
Well am going to go and make a coffee now before everyone wakes up and it turns into a madhouse once more lol.0 -
Well OH has just gone off to PO with big brown envelope to CCCS:eek:
actually feel quite sick about it hope we're doing the right thing!!!
Keep thinking we could of sold the house .
after paying the debts and the mortgage we would still have a fair bit of equity but not enough to really buy anywhere else (maybe a garage) and if we went into renting we would be paying at least twice the amount we are now paying on the mortgage! i supose at least this way we can keep a roof over our heads at least.
Oh i don't know will just have to wait and see how this all panns out!!!
Ebay stuff still sits there looking at me but i really can't be bothered today yet really do need the money:(
Debit card didn't turn up in the post:(
Happy Happy days!not0 -

It will get better.
Keep plodding.
Yes, it will - remember you didn't get into this state overnight, so it won't go away overnight. But it will settle down into something that you can work with, and more importantly, live with.

Hi Mum23
BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY
How sweet of your 11 year old to get you flowers and what a wheeler dealer he is!!:rotfl:Good job he doesn't take aftr his father:rotfl:
I too have been looking at the Ebay pile for a while, join me in my 10 items a day listing drive, if you list an item on auction starting at 99p or less before 1st Dec the listing is free - that's a good incentive as well as the fact that I really need the money for Xmas!
Good luck with the DMP, any time I make a huge decision like that I have sleepless nights wondering if I have done the right thing. It will all come good in the end.

Sorry it is a little late butHappy Belated Birthday:beer:Have you heard back from CCCS yet? Well done on posting off the envelope - I remember that feeling all too well.Though I am very positive about my DMP experience so far, things still happen that worry me. At the weekend I had 5 missed calls on my mobile from an unknown mobile number. No messages left so immediately I think this is debt collection. Previously I avoided all phone calls as CCCS are dealing with it but as this was unusual to get calls now, it was really niggling away at me. So on Monday I decided to call the number to find out. Turns out it was a debt collection company that Northern rock had passed my details to for further collection. I finally got to right department who looked up my details and immediately apologised as all contact should be via CCCS.
Assured me I wouldn't get any more phone call (we'll wait and see) but I haven't received any more so far. I felt so relieved just to sort it out.
Christmas is always a tough time but I have managed to be in a better position than last year. No struggling too much and all the family know about my DMP so understand.
