Afternoon all.
Our new doors have just arrived; they're sitting outside on a pallet awaiting Mr LW's arrival home from w*rk. So an easy dins tonight - HM nut loaf with sweet'n'sour sauce and rice - as we'll need to haul them in and stash them in the spare room til we can get started on the work.
Geebee I'm a veggie, too - Quorn is so useful, isn't it? I'm always adapting meat recipes!:D
JackieG Major healing vibes - make a nuisance of yourself til the fang farrier finds a slot for you.
Suzybloo thanks for posting about the GP surgery - you reminded me to email a repeat prescription order!:D
Bramble well done on securing another interview. Good luck!:o
Beemuzed I'm jealous! We both enjoy G&S, and I've always wanted to see a production of The Mikado. Just have to hope there's one on at MK Theatre some time soon.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Afternoon All
Been fairly busy today, two loads of washing done, on the line and now brought in, it did lighten them a little, but no breeze and back garden in shady, so been moving them along the line to catch the sun. :rotfl:
I had put a loaf in the BM to be ready this morning, and have made a double batch of teacake/hc bun dough, and that is proving atm. Will think of something else to cook with it when the oven is on.
Congrats to William and Kate, looks like they are marrying for love and hope it goes well for them.
Bramble - Congrats on the interview. What went wrong with the Cheese Sauce? If it is lumpy, then if you have a stick blender, that can sort it out (speaks one who is an expert of lumpy sauces):D
JackieG - Just ring back and tell them you are having no sleep and your face is double the size, and demand to be seen.
Jackie-O - What a lovely treat for the DSIL and DGKids. You can't take it with you, and they will remember this forever. I think it will be a doubly special as often people with birthdays near Xmas get "nowt" espeically if they have kids.
Memories of the last Meadowhell OS meet with two OS'ers crocheting in the food hall, didn't need anything else to identify us with did weI learnt to crochet before I learnt to knit, my Grandma taught me and she died when I was 8, my Mum reminded me a little older, she was a knitter more than a crocheter, but we all seem to be able to turn our hands to anything, now I have to show my GNeice to knit she tells me. Sistercas - if they are curling up then you have to add more stitches in to make it square.
Had to call the Drs this morning as BP not going down as it should, the bottom figure, the top seems to be more or less OK, my Dr is hols for a week, so had a Dr call back, and this one has given me some stronger tablets, and made me an appointment for the first morning back of my own Dr who is the BP specialist in the practice. This is service as we have a ring up on the day appointments, and after 8.15am you are struggling to get one. So have a busy 3 days next week, a test at the Drs next Tuesday, then dental checkup Weds. (rang up today), and Drs. Thursday, and then of to the Leeds Mini-Meet.
Just a reminder of it 25th November, 11 am White Rose Centre, Leeds, anyone/everyone welcome.
Right better go and do some more. Take Care. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

i keep starting to post here and then disappear again
this time i need to stick with it. alan (hubby) has no job from the end of the month so things are going to be tough until he gets a new job. and i seriously need to get into a routine for the sake of my sanity. any useful pointers would be great, if not a kick up the back will do just fine!
today i am feeling sorry for myself as i have an ear infection and sinusitis:( went to the drs then had a visitor. i nodded off afterwards and woke an hour later and have sat on here since!
have managed to do a load of washing though and its on the airer drying. just had to turn the heating up as its freezing today! still foggy out, in fact i think its getting foggier
alan has brought some steak for dinner for him and chicken for me but really dont know what to do with them... might do a tomato pasta bake with the chicken and a bit of veg for me and ds and freeze the rest...

I decided to try online to see how much the train fares would be with the Train Line from where we live in north Kent to Liverpool .The cheapest I could get was £152 for 1 adult and two children I went to my local station and a very helpful ticket man sorted me out the same deal on the same trains for £92.05 so its not always writ in blood that you can get a good deal via the net.I ahev saved £60 odd pound so I am a very happy old dear tonight .
Son-in-law is going to be gob-smacked to say the least and donny-gal you are so right his birthday will be remembered after I am long gone and the boys will be over the moon as well.DGS Ben's 15th birthday is just two days before they go to see the match so he will be probably taking all his birthday cash to spend in the Liverpool shop.0 -

Thanks for all the well wishes - todays interview should be in the bag- they are hiring 180 people before christmas, i will be shocked if i don't get it!
Donny-Gal the sauce wasn't lumpy but just tasted and smelt horrendous. I had trouble thickening it, and blueghhh it went straight in the bin, i don't think putting in in a blender would have saved it! I shall try again another day thoughAnnual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
