Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning  I'm cycling to work, soon, but have made a curry for tea
I've also found some leftover bhajis and pakora, and will make a coriander yogurt relish and some chapatis to go with
Freezer Roulette for lunch :rotfl:
Not much more of my crochet scarf to do, so I may finish that in front of the fire later.
Have a great Old Style Day everyone :j

Morning all
Very foggy here today & one side of the car was iced up, managed to get hubby to the station without killing any cyclists, bloody miracle really as most of them have no lights or reflectors & dress in black!
The DW & WM are loaded ready to go on & the rug I washed at the weekend has dried over the bannister so just needs rolling up now.
BB it was chicken pie, fortunately I never make fruit pies for the freezer so I was guarenteed (sp) a savory pie! Pie again for tea tonight, but fish pie tonight with potato topping.
I finished my 5th scarf last night & started the 6th.
Time I fed the fish, they are knocking on the side of the tank & mouthing 'Hurry up'
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

An extra "HI" :wave:to anyone in Yorkshire, wish i was back there.
I gotta get a move on now and get sorted for work. Have a good day everyone!

Morning peeps
just read the end of yesterdays thread - DG/Jackie you make me blush:D
Well its minus one here outside - i know cos the gadget on the mantlepiece tells meoutside its all white over with a very thick frost, we`re quite high up and get it when other places don`t so i`m not sure what the surrounding areas are like yet.
I don`t plan on going anywhere anytime soonDH is packing everything into the car to take the woofaloes fishing so i don`t even have to walk them, pal is coming round later so i shall go back into the kitchen once DH has gone and make some scones
Everything is a bit disorganised this morning as i fell asleep on the sofa with a throw over me watching tellyi was watching it until about 2am so when the younger dog woke me just after five i wondered where the bloomin èck i was :rotfl: At least the wm was put on - the rest i shall sort out later.
Chicken chasseur for tea tonight, i`ll prep the slow cooker so that it will be ready later when DH returns, nice and easy with jacket tatties to go with it. DH has just had toast for breakfast but hasn`t gone anywhere near my hm butterHe just eyes it suspiciously and then opens the fridge
I`ll be having some later cos it tastes gawguss:D
I`m off to hang the washing in the spare room, i`d put it outside but i don`t fancy bending the big cardboard like pieces later when it freezes.
((((HUGS)))) to all our poorlies, keep warm and safe peeps.
SD
EDIT Sistercas - I bought two crochet books last year to try and learn, i`ve also had a look at the vids on youtube AND someone at work showed me a few things in our lunchbreak - i still can`t get itI`m bloomin useless :rotfl:
Planning on starting the GC again soon0 -

I need to do my at home job this morning, should take me 4 hours or so, I need to have a quick tidy through and make a cottage pie for dinner, with roast squash, sprouts and cabbage. DD has a hm quorn cottage pie which is in the freezer.
I have parents evening tonight at dd's school, so I will shove the pie in the oven on a low and have it when we get back.
ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning all another chilly morning, everything is covered in frost, looks pretty but not for getting around in.School run this morning and craft this afternoon so that takes care of my day today.I may have to go and buy some euros as I have a day trip to Lille in December with DD so I might pop to the local Thos cooks.Hope everyone has a good and safe day,no sliding around on yer butts

I have bought myself a book to teach myself but i am really struggling to understand it. It doesnt help that the book is right handed and i am a lefty
Have you tried Youtube? That's how I taught myselfAlternatively, set the book up so that you;re looking at it into a mirror - that will make the pictures fit your left-hand :T This is the book I have, and it's great.
