Geebee - which part of yorkshire do you come from then? I don't think you'd want to be here today - even my big dogs were in and out of the back door in seconds! AM dreading defrosting the car with the children whinging how cold it is!

Had our last big spend evening before Christmas yesterday - youngests birthday so we went out for dinner with him - he's only 5 - so we took him to TGI Fridays. I won't need to eat for a week (very OS!) and as he left his dinner I wrapped in napkins and bought it home. They sang him happy birthday and his little eyes were as wide as dinner plates!! He's still asleep now!

Today we'll have some sort of casserole with the meat I have in the fridge, then I have a PTA mtg and a house to clean and tidy ready for guests on Saturday (yikes!). First load of washing on, so will sort the washing pile out before I go to work.

Happy OSing to everyone - I'm strictly on the bandwagon of not spending between now and Christmas. having re-read this - can't you tell I've left my brain somewhere?!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning folks really frosty here this morning, but at least the fog has cleared as daylight has come in. Not much happening at the moment, DGS has been sick everyday since Friday, but is not unwell with it IYKWIM but just what we would call 'hinggy', phoned the Doc yesterday to get him checked out as he is only 22 months - Thursday before she can get an appointment - eh Dont think so, whatever happened to seeing children was a priority - Granny on the case today I think! Sometimes I think it depends who you are at our surgery that they just give you any appointment, we never go to the docs but always are given ones days ahead, but when you are there you do start to wonder do they sell season tickets as it is the same faces (and families - one time there were 6 of them all ages from Granny to Grandchild and they all trooped into the Docs office- next thing four are turfed out!) over and over again who are there sitting.
Not sure whats for tea tonight, Dads for lunch but definately need to do housework tonight you would think someone has stirred my house with a stick its so untidy!
Have a good day, hugs to all,

    Suzy

    Hugs to all.

    Morning All,

Cold but no frost and its a bit damp too. Hospital this morning for me again, I will phone the dentist before I go though as I look a little bit swollen faced this morning  I have barely slept. I've never had an abscess before, what happens? Scratch that, I don't know if I want to know :o

OS plans for the day will very much depend on that, but I have Flylady to do, I have been aiming for level 3 all week, and managed it yesterday, and I need to do bread and make some biscuits, I think Twinks as I haven't for a good while. My kitchen windows could do with a clean on the inside too, so I want to try and squeeze that in. Tonight its open evening at one of the schools we are looking at, so I'll be going there, I think on my own as OH will need to sit on the boys :D

Have a good day whether you are doing OS stuff or not, welcome to GeeBee (?) and any other newbies I have been rude to by not saying hello. :o

Hugs spoons and hi fives for all.

    Jackie XXX

Oh PS my cancan wool arrived, I will be knitting up a storm tonight hopefully! If you hear lots of colourful language coming from here, you'll know why! :rotfl:

I can knit and sew well ( the only consession i have is a pair of left handed dressmaking scissors) my mum taught me when i was a kid but she gave up teaching crochet to me so ive always thought i cant do it , but i am determined to give it a good go because i know there are some fantastic left handed crocheters - thriftlady for example

Jackieg hope you get your toothache sorted out, I have woken up with an ache in my ear and i suspect its a tooth thats grumbling
  • Just called the dentist, they can't see me til Thursday, but the girl will call me if she has a cancellation, and if I get worse I can call back! So I will be rambling incoherently (what's new? :D) for a couple of days, I think!

bargainbird, cheers, like it hadn't been sitting on the counter for hours? ;)
lucifer's wench, the run will heat you up! and keep you hot for an hour or so after!

Morning all, it's really frosty and foggy here. Will pop my thermal leggings on under my tights for the cold walk to uni and the even colder sprint home at 6pm! It's 10C inside today, so I'm starting to think my Dad's prediction of frost inside the windows might come true! Ahh but the luxury of getting changed in a steaming hot bathroom after my bath and cup of tea :)
Yesterday was so tiring with work, uni work and then giving the kitchen a deep clean. I ended up scrubbing the floor with a wire pad and a mix of boiling water and bleach. My flatmates mostly have a standard student approach to cleanliness, but I really do value hygiene and not catching ecoli in my kitchen... Today will be equally knackering with similar stuff, but you've just gotta plod on and get it done.

I'm thinking soup with the last of my soda bread for lunch before uni, and hmm maybe hm froz\en spag bol for dindins?

I've been wondering, how long do most people have the water heater on for? Ours isn't great and only does enough for 2 showers so it's on 7-10(everyone showers between 7:45 and 11) and extra prongs to turn it off at 12pm and 9pm if someone turns it on later but someone keeps changing it to 7-12!!!
