Thanks Bitsy, I think Mum is basically ignoring the fact that she might have a problem. I have spoken to my sis this morning and we are going to try to sort something out with her doctor, she already has an appointment on 27th of this month so my sis will either go with her or we will ring the doc ahead to make sure is is aware of this. Tried talking to Dad but he also has his head in the sand....

I have just ordered some of that can can yarn that is getting so much attention on here, having looked at the tutorial I can't see any reason why I can't make some of these lovely scarves for Christmas....here hoping, I have not knit since my two were very small.

    Have a good day

    Hi Peeps

GeeBee - Welcome, its lovely here :D

Just back from walking the houndies and its mighty cold out there, very slippery underfoot and as you said Jackie, very strong sunshine which looks lovely but blinding in certain spots, i`ve dug my sunglasses out for the drive to the dentists.

Jackie - Sorry to hear that you`ve got toothache/neuralgia, its awful. Fingers crossed that it gets sorted out quickly. I liked my last dentist but he was rubbish. I`ve been to this one once and this is my second visit so i`m hopeful that everything is ok - it feels ok IYKWIM

Bargainbird - I would love the recipe please :D TIA

Cait - Sorry to hear about the falls that your Mum`s been having, hope that everything is sorted out quickly. I can imagine how worrying it is for all of you.

Well i`m on a nervous countdown now  19 minutes until setting off time :o

Morning All, hope all those who have been feeling under the weather feel better

I think i can get used to this Garden Leave malarky! Shame i feel so under pressure to find another job as soon as. - 2 interviews lined up so far this week, and need to get the feedback from the other 2.

Tidied the bedroom and living, rabbit cage and put a wash one. Got to go to the village and pay in a cheque and get some blueberries (OH wants to try clafoutis or however it's spelt today)

Aim to spend about 2 hours job hunting and 2 hours prepping for the ones i have as well.

Hope you all have a lovely day!!

Was going to be soo OS today – but I have stew ready to go this morning, and have forgotten to flick the switch on my slow cooker…

But hopefully my sister is in and can pop round to turn it on for me…

Apart from that I have been offered a fish pedicure tomorrow for free, so that will be nice, but tonight I will have to have a good old flick round and sort my ironing for the week so that I can invite my workmate in and not have to be embarrassed by the fact the floor needs hovering…

Really miffed as I thought I was being soooooooo organised last night as I browned off me meat etc.

    Hey ho.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Morning All!
Washing on second load, towels and beds changed. Mirrors and all glass surfaces cleaned, dogs walked. I'm now exhausted!
Bargain bird - my laptop has a really, really tiny button set immediately below the space bar and above the slidy "mouse". i once couldn't use the slidy mouse and someone pointed out that the button needed pushing! It's really tiny but lights up when it's working! I'd never even noticed it before!
HM soup for lunch and beef to eat up from yesterday this evening.
My new doggie found my knitting bag the other day - inside was carrier with 16 unused ball of wool... how he did it I do not know but the wrappers to all but three were removed and the resultant tangle is worthy of three rampaging kittens!! DH swears he was only out of the room for five minutes!
Oh well, the hoovering calls! I hpe you all have a good day today. Take care.

    Morning all.

I'm behind on the weekend threads again, so (((HUGS))) and posi-vibes wherever they're needed.

C-c-cold in Concrete Cow Country today; I've been outside long enough to put the washing out, and that was enough for me!

I need to make some cheese straws and cakes for Mr LW's lunchbox (must make extra cheese straws, and Mr LW's pal "A" is coming over on Thursday evening) so that should warm me up nicely.

    Have a good Monday, everyone.

    RR - How's your Dad ? x

Have been phoning all morning, finally got through at 11, which would normally mean they have had a terrible night, but they both slept the night through, which is a first for weeks :j, the Dr has given my dad some sleeping pills, which he has been taking, but they seem to make him sleep till 3, and then wander about for the rest of the night, mum did not give him a pill last night, and made him a big cup of cocoa before bed, which seems to have worked, also he is eating very well, which must help, thanks for asking xx

I have two lots of washing handing limply on the line, dont think they will dry at all, but they wil smell fresh. have hoovered lounge, even behind sofas and under sofa cushions:D:eek:, floors mopped, kitchen cleaned.

Just having a coffee, and will then do upstairs.

Cait, your mum really needs to see her GP, what if she has a fall near the stairs ? does not bear thinking about, hugs to you both, I know what you are going through xx

Sunnyday hope the dentist was ok xx

  • Hey ho chums was a chilly school run this morning The youngest DGS Mikey hates the cold so we all played 'dragons' by blowing out our breaths to see who had the 'fiercest fire' took his mind off it for awhile .He is so like my late OH ,he too hated any sort of cold weather .He was the 'mad englishman' in the Sudan in the 1980s who would go for a walk along the edge of the Red Sea in Port Sudan in the blistering heat and love every minute of it .
Well I went to the shops at last to get my long list of bits and spent a whopping £47.30 in total, but did get quite a few bargains which was good .
Memo to myself Stay away from the shops for around ten days at least :):):)So cupboards are replenished but purse is a lot thinner .Still within my November limits though. Then I spent a good half an hout rearranging our holiday trip which apparently the place we were going to the house owner has decided not to rent out next year so had to find another one a bit smartish that will sleep at least 8 + two well behaved dogs.Luckily I managed it but DD was panicking a bit.Now all I have to do is sort out a trip for Son-in-law and two DGS to Liverpool in mid December with trains and hotels and footie tickets that won't bankrupt me in the process.Oh well onwards and upwards
Its all go in my life at the moment
    Cheers chums

İts just gone 2pm here so 12 noon there--good afternoon everyone and welcome geebee!
İts like a summers day here, its warm sunny and bright. The Muslim holiday of Eid has just begun so Mrs De has rushed to the shops to join in the scrum because the shops are closed tomorrow--its just like xmas day for us! Eid is a strange religious holiday that moves backwards about 10 days a year because it follows the lunar year not the sun's. For me it only alters the fact that i have finished work for 12 days. the negative is that the mandarins arent ready in my garden and so it will be just Turkish delite as (xmas) fare!
i did some teaching this morning followed by a completion of the work on my tooth which was followed by the pain of having to pay 65 quid for it--not sure what a private root canal filling costs back there but its expensive here!!
Now to enjoy the sun--i will sit on the balcony in front of my study and listen to steve wright with a few coffees--does anyone know if tea and coffee is a substitute for water? i say it is but Mrs De says i must drink boring water to stop my dry skin!--have a good day and maybe speak later!
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.
