Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 15th November 2010. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning peeps

cold and frosty here this morning, yesterday i had to scrape thick ice off the car but today i don`t have to go out until about 8am so i`m hoping that if there is any today then its all disappeared by then:p

I`m off work for a few days on holiday now so i`heve a huge list of things to do  I`m also paying a visit to the dentist later which i really don`t want to do, i`ll have to force myself to go.

I came home from work yesterday with a huge bag of bramley apples which some kind person collected for me from their neighbours tree,i`d like to make some sort of jam or chutney so any suggestions are welcome :D

Molly 41 - Nice to hear that you are out of hospital:T hope that you are truly on the mend and don`t have to go back in!

Bitsy - Great news that Boo is improving, i was thinking about her quite a lot. (((HUGS))) for your parents

Tru - So sorry to hear about Harry (((HUGS)))) Sorry to hear about your sprouts too.

Essex Girl - Hope that you`re on the mend and will be back posting soon.

I`m off for a browse and to tidy up before DH and the animals decide to get up - its nice and peaceful here at the mo :D

Have a lovely day peeps!

Frosty here this morning, the car took a lot of scraping before we could go to the station. All the usual marning jobs are done & hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup. I have home made soup ready to take with me & some melon.
We had roast lamb at MIL's yesterday so no leftovers to use up, I've taken a HM pie out of the freezer, no idea if it's chicken or beef, there was no label, we'll find out at teatime, lol.
    Welcome Geebee.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Geebee - welcome. Everyone is really friendly on this board and I know you'll be made welcome. Theres loads of advice on here too, so if you need anything just ask. xx

Morning everyone - survived both the sleepover and the birthday party yesterday - but the house looks like a tip (even though the party wasn't here!). DS2 came home and ripped open all his presents so paper went everywhere despite my best attempts! Today looks cold and dark (still) but the boys are up so I'm up. Apart from tidying up and recycling gifts!!! there is no OS going on here today - because we're off out for a birthday dinner! :T:j Hugs to you all xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning Sunny and welcome Gee.

Not been outside yet but its very chilly, need to do a couple of washes today, so hope its dry.

Also need to hoover and clean through downstairs, and clean the bathroom, also need to do an online shop, roast lamb for dinner, so need to prep the pots and veg for that.

Will go and see my dad later, if my mum wants to go out I will sit with him for a while.

DD and I made 2 cheesecakes yesterday, 1 chocolate and one lime, very nice they are too, so that will go for pudding for this week. Need to wait in for a parcel this morning, dd's big xmas pressie, have one more to get after this one :j.

Oh and I meant to say, I was watching a cardigan on ebay last night, it was a chunky arun style cardi with buttons down the front, they are terribly in fashion at the moment it went for £30  (not to me;)), so that might be an idea for you knitters, all the young kids want one atm.

OK better get on, have good days all.

Hugs to Little Noah this morning, and his mum xx

Morning from me too - and welcome!

Had a journey from the outer edges of hell yesterday, long and slow drive back from Birmingham and just when the end was in sight the A1(M) was closed at the roadworks from Dishforth to Catterick so all the traffic was being filtered onto the A19. That took almost an hour to drive 1 mile! So then travelling for longer than I anticipated and didn't get home until just after 10.00p.m. Remembered to removed some bolognaise from the freezer for today's 'packed' lunch though so a little bit chuffed with myself.

Off in a few moments back down the A1 - should have tried to get into an hotel at Wetherby if I'd had any sense. :o

I hope that everyone is OK, getting to OK or getting help to be OK. Haven't read the thread from yesterday.

    Keep warm!

    Morning all

Dry and frosty start to the day here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock but managed to snuggle back down in the warm bed and go back to sleep. Tonight's dinner is steak pie with mash/chips for the boys and I'll be having fish and jacket potato.

DH got a meeting tomorrow night straight after work, so he'll be late home, DS1 has Cadets so dinner tomorrow night will be something quick for them and freezer surprise for me.

Hairdresser is coming over tonight to give DH and the boys a haircut, so another job to be crossed off the list.

Hoping work isn't too busy today as I feel in a sluggish mood, hey ho, that will change when I get outside in the frosty air!

Have managed to get most jobs done this weekend, so will just put a wash on this morning and will put that on the airer tonight to dry.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
