    Good Afternoon fellow flyers

 Please could you advise me if £90 a month electricity is excessive?
We have a seperate gas bill for Gas CH and hot water, Gas fire and Gas hob. 3 bed semi with electric shower no tumble drier but do have dishwasher and cook from scratch most things. meter readings being done twice daily say we are using roughly 14-16 units a day.

That seems a lot to me too. We have a 3 bed mid terrace and after swapping around with our DD to get the right balance we now pay £90 per month for gas AND electric, that's for 2 adults and 1 baby.

I just took the drawer out of my washing machine to give it a rinse... I only did it a month ago but there was black mould on it

I have less mould in the WM drawer since I've been diluting the fabric conditioner - just put the same amount of water in the drawer with it.

    My list:
Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining area
    Level One

    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clear and wipe worksurfaces
    Level Two
Wipe fronts of appliances and units
[STRIKE]Scrub Out the fridge and defrost the frozen freezer.. use up those bitty bits ready for christmas stocking up![/STRIKE]
Wipe table and replace cloth if needed
    Level Three
Clean, degrease/descale and wipe tiles and taps
Wipe through oven and hob to degrot any dribbles
Get the winter emergency box ready for the car.. just in case

    love to all....
  • Off topic alert
Hi I hope no one minds me asking, and please delete the post if it's too off topic... My niece (8) is severely disabled and needs a new bed as she's getting heavy and a bit much for my sister to move around etc. We've been looking at the adult size electric ones they use in the hospital (so she can grow into it) which are about £2500 excluding both vat and mattress, and wondered if any of you flyladies had experience of these type of "profiling" beds either through work or personal experience, and if anyone could recommend manufacturers. I'm asking here because tbh my first point of information is usually my friends, so I thought I'd risk an ot post in case anyone can think of something. Please do delete it if it's too OT though.

  • Hi Sockdrawer I'm a nurse on an elderly care ward and all our beds are profiling ones but I can't remember the make-I'll try and remember to look tonight. Would she need a pressure relieving mattress? Do the PCT not provide these types of equipment if needed-possibly from a central equipment lending place? I only ask as elerly patients are sometimes discharged with these and elderly care is not a priority area really. Might be worth looking into as I presume as she gets older she may need hoists etc? Sorry if I've made any presumptions.
If you get deleted I'll pm you but it might be wednesday (unless I can get on here at work tonight!).

Curlytop40 Thank you so much!!! This is why I asked the flyladies!

Is this the same as a circulation mattress? If so, then yes. She's hypersensitive, and alongside her severe physical disabilities has incredibly bad epilepsy, so she would need the safety bars at the edge too.

You are absolutely right, she is very likely to need hoists in the future. I didn't know the PCT could do this. I'll investigate further.

Not long got in from work - have done the above (well the hob and fridge were yesterday so a bit of a cheat there!) Now there is a second load of washing on - another to go - and I am tackling the rest of the pile of ironing. Flylady is very motivating, thank you to everyone on here! And thanks to DH who put dinner on before he walked the dog - although to be fair he does that most evenings!
