None of my words can explain well enough for you, you are in my thoughts my dear x

In my uni class this afternoon the tutor spoke of a study about MND which my dad died from 4yrs ago and he explained to the class what a nasty disease it was etc and how people asked how they got it and what the study thought caused it. For my dad it was much more extreme than this. Just him speaking about this in class made me want to get up and go outside for a bit as it triggered off all kinds of memories that weren't good ones. He then changed topic and I recovered and put most of the memories behind me. Strange how unexpected things can trigger off unexpected memories. Luckily I am good at coping with bereavement now after my counselling last year. Looks like the unexpected things are just that and trigger off an equally unexpected reaction

aj how did your day go yesterday?

Really well thank you. It stayed dry, wasn't too cold and I was amazed at how many people can stand in George Square in Glasgow. There were a few glimpses of us on tv and we could be heard in the background too.

Did anyone see the Festival of Remembrance on tv on Saturay night? The band with the white helmets...that is what I do, I was in that band until just over a year ago.

    Thanks jjef

It was exactly like this - it picked him, had the diagnosis and 6 weeks later took him away speedily

It makes me feel like welling up too, I didn't this afternoon but I felt my heart beat increase at the mention of it

I have flown a little today - will update list in a mo. I currently have the boy furries hiding under the computer desk and refusing to come out! Jet has been under there for an hour now! Methinks a stick may be needed..........

sockdrawer - does your niece have an Occupational Therapist and / or Physio? The children I work with have beds, hoists, etc. provided at home if specialist equipment is needed. PM me if you want more info x

Unfortunately the OT has suggested we go for the private route, as, if we went through her the wee lass would be waiting years. Apparently the council have no money (fife council) although because of the advice (including yours) I've had today I'm going to get on to it tomorrow. Really, I feel my niece and my sister should be getting more support, however, my sister does give the impression of coping very well... up to her breaking point! (but IMO she shouldn't have to get to that point) I have appointed myself her PA and am scurrying around trying to get info :-) Will PM you x

Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.
