  • thanks shysarah will give that a go tomorrow morning and hopefully it will work as have tried the following

    hot water and fairy liquid
    hot water and washing powder
    hot water and soda crystels
brillo pad added to all the above to no avail
cilit bang and brillo pad and tiny amount of water - a little success

if it doesnt work will go for oven pride or mr muscle or some other heavy duty cleaner. its not my pan either which is why im keen to get it clean as its the landlords so dont want to leave it with stuck on food if i can help it.

well the house is pretty tidy, will be heading to bed at 11pm and up earlyish about 8 to get everything else sorted out. think im going to leave doing my bedding tomorrow as whats another couple of nights difference going to do.

In my uni class this afternoon the tutor spoke of a study about MND which my dad died from 4yrs ago and he explained to the class what a nasty disease it was etc and how people asked how they got it and what the study thought caused it. For my dad it was much more extreme than this. Just him speaking about this in class made me want to get up and go outside for a bit as it triggered off all kinds of memories that weren't good ones. He then changed topic and I recovered and put most of the memories behind me. Strange how unexpected things can trigger off unexpected memories. Luckily I am good at coping with bereavement now after my counselling last year. Looks like the unexpected things are just that and trigger off an equally unexpected reaction

It's such a random illness. It took my maternal Grandmother some years ago and the husband of a childhood friend earlier this summer. Well done for holding it together, I was in pieces last week after a training session about other issues that were close to home. I admire your strength.

Boddy - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers heading in your direction x

Worked this morning and did a 5 mile training walk this afternoon. DD1 brought the boyfriend home and he ate my home made fishcakes:mad:. I had to make myself an omelette. He still hasn't got a job. He had an interview on Friday morning but didn't sleep too well so didn't go. When is she going to wake up and smell the coffee. He's a waste of space:mad:

Homestart training course tomorrow so I must go and make myself a packed lunch. DS1 & 2 took the little ones sandwiches this morning. They were crustless and cut into little triangles! The little ones had to have the doorstop sandwiches I had made for the ravenous teenagers.

Give me strength, it's only Monday!

Oh and even tucked an old blanket round the car tonight in case its cold again (ok so I went out this morning at 7 and sprayed deicer on all the screens and then went to go out at 730 and found all the deicer had frozen )

Had a quick fly through thread while at the paid work today and cant remember too much :o

Not many other bits done tonight other than investigated mobile bill for DD which is three times over the usual amount  despite having unlimited calls to landlines she has still been using mobiles and went over her minutes. 1 stern telling off is all she is getting!

Nice to see you back nicki (mine too as been awol for a while), hope your storecupboard/freezer challenge is going better than mine!

Right bed now for me and doogie I think

    See you all tomorrow

  • Congrats jenagain, I have 2 boys and the youngest is 4 months (today actually!). They are lovely together and you can tell they adore each other! It's comforting to think they'll each have a friend for life (hopefully).

Going to wipe the hob and scrub the toad pan from dinner then go to bed. Got as much done as I wanted today so happy with that. If it's LR tomorrow I'm not getting my hopes up as will have an OH shaped lump attached to the sofa all day I reckon...

    So, there are these boys,

Lots of stuff bought from avon and stuff ordered from superdrug, all to be split into stocking fillers for varous people, or for the teachers......getting there, now, OH is a whole different matter!!! Been on Iwantoneofthose and still no idea....bored of buyig clothes and smellies....will keep looking....

Huge (((((((hugs)))))) for those feeling down while remembering loved ones.....It's not easy xx
  • Hello Flying Folks..

Sounds like lots has been going on today.. I get lonely in the evening but popping on here and reading through the posts makes me feel part of a little community and i love that feeling.

Jenagain - Hurrah a Blue baby... I hope he brings lots of love and joy with him when he enters the world. With my little niece now 12 week babies have taken on a lot more meaning to me and I can happily spend 2/3 hours coo-ing over the toys and baby clothes. Got a gorgeous Lamaze Emily doll for my niece Maisie for chrimbo along with a few lights and other bits and I had a bit of a play with Emily doll myself today.. (shhhhh)...:rotfl:

PigPen - Give urself a break hun, slowly and surely wins the race. I find ebeasty listings very dull to do so have set some basic outlines up which I now use and adapt saving time when doing the details.

Things here are a bit off..

The man I am mad about has only been in touch once or twice over the last week, I mean if he cared no matter what it only takes ten minutes to call see how the op went etc... I need to accept that things with him are 'just fun' and nothing more can come of it but when your a bit stuck on someone its hard. This is the first time I have really written/said anything about it so its part of the theraputic get it out and deal with it thing I have to do. I mean, I have a male friend online who we bounce things off chat about everything with etc I have known less time that this guy and have not even met but he sent me a get well card and texted me the day of the op to wish me well. :(
I need a decent man or maybe even just to accept my little Jinxy man cat is the only man for me.

Struggling with pain today from my wounds and have spoke with the district nurse who tells me unless there is a problem remove the wound tape on weds, my stitches are disolving ones. Also having bouts of dizziness which is peculiar but it could still be the anesthetic playing its magic. :o

    Have managed a few little bits today;

Did a load of washing and drying (with help)
Washed up, dried up and put away
    Tidied clutter off table
    Had some sleeps
    Ordered some Chrimbo gifts

Now off to de-clutter some wool and have a bit of a think about creating the blanket from all my granny squares

    Loves, Hugs and Cuddles,
    Sarah xx

Only one day in and it's taken me ages to read through the whole thread.

But I've come out with a warm glow. How many major life events are shared, sad losses, ilnesses and the excitement of new babies along with very simple triumphs - whether it's tackling the ironing or the ebay pile - are shared and celebrated. (Boddy, I am so sorry for your loss - I'm new to your story but there are obviously so many people that have been touched by it and I hope you can continue to draw comfort and support from your friends here)

How reassuring it is when I read the frustrated posts and know that it could be me talking. Not that I enjoy seeing people drowning in housework, but I realise that it's not just me! I hope people can take some reassurance as well knowing that it is kind of normal and you're not alone. But things are improving here, things like venetian blinds are getting dusted(!) and I find myself more motivated to get the house tip-top - with admittedly the occassional lapse but the general direction is upwards.

I've done virtually no housework today, so have plenty of catching up tomorrow and can hopefully share a couple of HHCs. I'm still a bit rusty after a few days away last week having fun and other people clear up after me :o

I have learned the hard way.. so now I do say 10 listings.. I spend a while doing 1 and then duplicate and change the relevant details for 9 other simlar items.. all shoes for example, or school wear.. all very simple.. I find it is finding the time to take pics that is the ball ache.. that takes forever. I am dead cheeky too and will steal pics from ended listings.. and I have most of it set up already.. like the usual blarb at he bottom of a listing.. like an explanation I have 9 children and it will sometimes mean I do not get stuff posted for a week.. or that I have 6 cats so expect the odd hair.. and if you don't like it don't bid! Tomorrow I have fleece all-in-one pj's to list from Tiddles and some Boden trousers and some school trousers DS2 has just outgrown!

I'll try to do the list but I am really struggling to post as my connection is really crap.. so if I can't do it now I'll do the list in the mooning..
