  • I hope things go smoothly for you tomorrow, Boddy.

Patience, LW, this too shall pass.

Everybody else - I'd like to say the right thing, but I am already taking up too much space, so please accept my best intentions.

    Kitchen is gleaming.

    Upstairs bathroom is absolutely immaculate.

Downstairs walk-in is just as clean.

DD's room is sparkly   (has anyone seen where the Real DD has been hidden by this replicant?)

All the windows, mirrors and glass doors are spot- (and smear-) less (BTW, how do you get windows smearless without going slightly demented and stepping back and checking them a million times before they are good enough?)

More herbs in the suntrap that is the front 'garden' block paving. One rose in a big pot, plus a honeysuckle by the front door.

Decided to not bother going to IKEA today to try and get another Chest of drawers (this time to stand in the landing and hold all clean bedlinen and a vase of flowers on the top).

Milk bottles are out awaiting the nice milkman in the morning (I forgot how much I like home deliveries!).

Stairs and landing are clear for the first time since we moved in :whistle:

I have a drawer full of around 30 pairs of socks. I didn't even know I had 30 pairs of socks.

I even baked a steak pie from scratch today. And DD ate every last scrap of her share - even when I told her that from now on, there will be no turning her nose up at food and sneaking a ham sandwich later on.

All I need to do is hide an armful of stuff currently languishing in the Living Room, shut my bedroom door, be nice to the man coming to fix the downstairs shower tomorrow morning -

and I shall be ready for the first visit from my toxic mother since I was a 19 year old with a newborn baby.

By the sounds of it, she is convinced that it shall be a squalid slum, where poor, incompetent me falls apart at the seams.

Thanks to Flylady, although it has no carpet or lampshades for the low energy ceiling fittings yet, I know it is clean.

soon I shall have the pleasure of pottering around with my plants, listening to the radio and polishing wood and glass regularly!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
