Making progress. Ds2s bed moved- he's an oik, loads of junk behind his bed (large fixed frame cabin thing so not moved in a year) and vacuumed under where it had been, washed walls bedframe and skirting. Ds1s toys piled into corner (well most of them) and shamed the volume of them on FB! Wardrobe repaired and into place. Toy rack into Ds1s room. Another WM and DW switch. Flung 2 sacks of rubbish. Found curtain rail which MUST go up before it's lost again instead of just a lilac blind.
Sparkleworld winter time probably not then you can drop as required in spring/summer. Mine is way too low and I am dreading the shortfall bill.

One day I might be more organised...........

Dropping in to send hugs to Boddy! Thinking of you and your family at this sad time. Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.
Congratulations to Valli on the new bathroom. Hope the installation is going well, and you aren't having to make too many cups of tea.
Well as you can see, no work again for me. Starting to get a bit worried at the lack of work now, especially with all of the additional expenses I have at the moment. It has meant however, that I managed to get a few bits and pieces done this morning - went to the post office to post a couple of letters (hopefully will have a nice car tax refund next month which should help a little). I've also managed to descale the kettle, wipe down the worktops, clean the sink with the vinegar from the kettle, emptied the DW, and put a load of washing in the WM, so a fairly productive day so far.
Just finishing my salad for lunch (leftover salad from last night, with the leftover grated cheese from the pasta), and a cup of tea to warm me up a bit - it's freezing here.
I'm going to make the most of the afternoon by making msgnomey's lemon cake, as we're going to my M&D's for dinner tonight, so my Mum will be able to test it out.
Hugs for all who are going through a rough time at the moment, or who are feeling poorly.

There's 4 of us Mollina and DS HAS to stay in the shower for 20 mins( no room for negotiation) DD I try and prise out after 15 but if she's washing her hair then that creeps to 20 mins also its a 10.5 KW shower- really considering changing to water mains but our water pressure is quite low and would need a pump so would'nt really gain anything0

dear Sparkle (and everybody else)
a good idea with regard to electricity usage is to go round the house turning everything off then going back to the meter and making sure it has stopped. Repeat as required. If it doesn't stop, either a) something is still switched on or b) your meter's not recording correctly.
Also, if you have had the electricity meter replaced recently, have the removal readings from the old meter and installation readings from the new meter been correctly updated on your bill?
If you have an off-peak meter, is that going on and off at the right time?
Is the meter reader visiting regularly or are you providing meter readings to the company? If not, is this a catch up bill after a line of estimated bills??
Hope this helps. You can always spend the week going "turn that ruddy telly off"

Slight change in plan as I've got DS off school - cough and cold he's had forever seems to have gone to his chest. So, will take mum and dad out later in the week and won't do present inventory!!! Apart from that....if I've done it then I've deleted it...

Sparkle - can you borrow a smart meter from your library, or get one free from your supplier? Proving to my lot that the 20 minutes shower really was costing £1 a time, and that I was going to deduct it from their pocket money hit home . My electric isn't as high as yours - and thats for 6/7 of us, too much electrical stuff including twice daily TD/WM/DW usages, but heating/water is gas. Just a thought but is your immersion heater stuck on?
TD is back on, need to get our bedding washed next. Time for a HHC at 2pm?'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
