What benefit? Being able to say you took your holidays earlier then having a greater chance of having to take unpaid leave to deal with and emergency. The earlier you take your holidays the more chance you have of having to take unpaid leave and lose a days pay.0 -
Taking 22 days a year doesn't use up all of most peoples holidays. A lot of people I worked with had 6 weeks per year . Some people get even more depending on years of service. lets make the example again
suppose you only get 1 week per year you can take the last week in december and work 51 weeks then take 1 week holiday OR every year you can take your 1 week earlier every year and only work 50 weeks then take your holiday . Which is best ???

It depends how you plan to take the holidays .
if you take the last 2 weeks in august every year then there is always 50 weeks until your next holiday BUT if you take your holiday 1 week earlier every year then there is only 49 weeks until your next holiday
Once you accept the system works then modify it to suit your own circumstances . I don't know everyone's terms and conditions but most people I know accrue holidays per month and could take 2+ days every month if they wanted0 -

My normal hours of work are 9am - 5.30pm. On the Monday I start at 9am, finish at 5.30pm, Tuesday I don't come in till 9.05am, Wednesday it's 9.10am, Thursday it's 9.15am. Terrible traffic on a Friday, so don't make it in until 9.20am.
I take my lunch at the same time every day - 1pm.
Monday, I work 4 hours before taking lunch and by the Friday I only have to work 3 hours 40minutes for lunch, and all my colleagues work 4 hours.

stick to the point. Taking holidays (to which you are entitled ) is not the same as turning up late for work. I can tell by the "tone" of your answer that you understand this system but it is now too late for you to eat humble pie on your lunch break.0 -

How stupid can you be?
There won't be 50 weeks between holidays if you take two weeks of in August. The minimum you get is 4 weeks, and as you said many people get six weeks, so they will have 2 to 4 weeks to take of after August.
If I were you I would stop digging, the hole you got yourself into is deep enough!0 -

so now you have only worked 363 days until your 1 day holiday instead of 364. If you keep moving your holidays a little earlier every year then you work less days between your holidays.
which is better 364 days then 1 day holiday or 363 days then get 1 day holiday???

Think he knows he's in a deep hole.
I think what happened here is, his friend told him this 'system', he fell for it hook-line and sinker, someone told him it was nonsense, he argued it wasn't, now he's completely convinced himself that it actually works and can't back down.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0
