I am not working any more so I don't mind sharing this sure fire method of working less for the same money .
I joined my first company and they took 4 weeks break in august. no use.
The second company allowed flexible holidays I started in October. I told them I needed 4 weeks in August as I used to go camping in France. So I worked 10 months Oct -> July and took my month. The following year I took July and went camping in France again. (better weather). Started back in August and the following year took June . Could have gone on doing this but then I took up skiing so took 2 weeks end of January and 2 weeks end of July . I then started backing the weeks every year for the next 20 years working with different companies. It has always paid off and never has been noticed by HR. never stayed too long with companies so they get wise and always told the new company that I needed holidays starting 10 months after joining. Just try it and see . It works

So you're saying basically you have 4 weeks a year in your contract, but you're getting more because you have it on a 11 month cycle?
I'm a bit confused, but doesn't that mean it takes 12 years to get a payoff of extra hol?0 -
It's probably never been noticed because there appears to be nothing to actually notice ?
Just sounds to me like you're working and getting paid as normal, accruing holiday, then leaving your job and getting paid for what you've accrued... then starting again somewhere else doing exactly the same thing.
Unless there's something you're not telling us ...Google is my friend ..... :j0 -
he he we had customers that used to do this on a weekly basis.
pay your bill one day later every week, eventually getting a free week.

What I am trying to get at is that reducing the number of days worked between holidays actually gives you a pay rise. So I only worked 10 months then took one month paid holiday. So I was being paid for 12 months every year but only working 10 months between holdays. Its a bit like working 4 days then taking 2 days off every week .The number of days worked between holidays is 220 days on a 10 month cycle whereas on an 11 month cycle you work 242 days per year but get the same salary. Just don't work for a company for more than 10 years. But who does???0

But surely if you leave the job before your anniversary of joining you just lose money from your final pay for the holidays you've taken but not earned yet (out of the 12 month holiday cycle)?

So, what you are saying is in all the companies you have worked for the HR people are to thick to realise you have taken 12 months worth of holidays but only worked 10 months.
In all the companies I have worked for the HR people don't work that out, the computer does it for them. They just bring up your record and the computer tells them how many holidays you have earned, how many you have taken and what you have left.
If you take more than you have earned and then leave the computer automatically deducts it from your final pay.0 -
I agree, every company I've ever worked for has had records showing how much holiday was taken and adjust in final pay for holidays over or under taken.

every month an employee accrues up to 2.5 days leave so after 10 months you have enough days to take 22 days holiday which gets you one month off. So you are not doing anything wrong. HR couldn't care less.So every 10 months take 22 days leave and get a month off. IS IT CLEAR NOW??? the average Joe works 11 months then gets 1 month off while you work 10 months and get 1 months off . Now it must be clear. Or maybe not. You don't have to leave the company after 10 months. Stay as long as you like but every 10 months you will get a month off while everyone else works 11 months and gets one month off0 -

Not where I work, holiday year runs Jan to Dec and you get a set number of days off per year. You could use this method for a while, moving your holiday earlier and earlier but as soon as you got to January and then tried to book the "extra" days the same year in December you'd fail.
Would probably work if the company didn't have a clue.:A0 -

Nope, this bit is not clear. Why do you, and everyone reading this get 22 days holiday for working 10 months and everyone else (the average Joe's) have to work 11 months to get 22 days off?
If the average Joe works 11 months he earns 11 * 2.5 = 27.5 days holiday, but in 10 months you only got 22 days holiday.
Have you checked the batteries in your calculator?0
