Just got an email to say that we can use our £5 voucher at any store this thursday/friday that is holding a Christmas event. Very pleased with this, as the voucher we were sent stated a store quite far from us. The email also included a link which lists all participating stores. :j0

Just a quick update on the voucher for 50% off tins jars, nuts etc. It really is a brilliant offer.
We filled a trolley today, mainly with BOGOF and 342 items. This included Nuts, pickles, chutney, jams, sauces, soups, marmalade, honey, tinned steak and large tins of ham.
A total of 64 items. Cost before savings £136.xx.
Balance to pay after scanning voucher was £17.xx
The SA was most impressed, and so was I.
I noticed quite a lot of other people with large amount of jars and tins in their trolleys, so it looks like others are taking full advantage of this great offer.
Good luck to everyone who has a voucher, go for the multibuys and get extra value for money.~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
I just had the 20% off offer. Got £36 worth of stuff for £10.50, so it is worth using.0

I'm sorry - I didn't notice the dates. However, the onion chutney/mustard/apple sauce/seafood sauce BOGOF has been on for over a week (I bought a couple of jars about 8/9 days ago) so I would think that offer will end soon. You will probably be OK though as they will likely have different BOGOFs by the 20th which will hopefully be on other jars & tins. You may even find the canned meats/fish are on offer.
The Christmas stuff that was on B1G1F was a newer offer - I didn't see it last week - so may run for longer. I'm sure you will still be able to get some cheap/free stuff.
The Old Bags eyesight is not brilliant but, checking the sel today on the jars, I am sure it said offer ran to the 28th Nov.
I am planning on doing a massive shop at the Xmas shopping event and use all my vouchers to stock up the pantry with M&S luxury goods for minimal outlay.
Some jars are on bogof, some tins ( eg soups) on 342, tins of nuts also bogof.... so fingers crossed;)0 -
I got the 50% voucher.
Was a bit wary in case it didn't work, but did a shop of mainly BOGOF or 3 for 2. Did buy some other non stuff for the 50% off (tea & coffee).
Can't find my receipt to be exact with the saving but the bill before the BOGOF etc. was £122. It became £77 after these discounts applied.
I then gave my voucher & it became £25!!!!! I had a £4 voucher so paid £21.
Have split my bounty ready to give some to friends etc. Result.:j0 -
Hi everyone
I went to the M&S cardholder event yesterday. I couldnt use the 50% voucher as the date on mine was 20th November. But if you want to go to the event at a nearer M&S its worth going, I got an email saying you could go to your nearest one. I used my other vouchers for £9 off shoes. I got a nail file and polish, you can have make-up done too. You get a bag with magazine in and a small face cream. You get drinks, snacks and mince pies too. So its worth popping in today if its still on in your area.
Will use the 50% voucher soon though and hopefully get some good deals with that too !!We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0 -
I had 1 of these 50% off vouchers which started today. Off we went 20 miles away to stock up. We only put cans jars crisps and nuts in the trolley, total at check out came to £84. After voucher was taken off it still came to £55. After checking receipt I saw it had 50% off but underneath this it said 20% off with a 20% off value. The multi buys and bogof were taken off. I went to helpdesk and assistant went to check in the checkout bin and found the 50% off voucher, but managed to convince me this was correct. On the way home I again checked my receipt and it was only 20% off not 50%. I have since rang store, but have to go back in to get it sorted out. So check your receipts.0

For anyone who did not receive an invitation to the Card Holder Shopping Evening...... you missed nothing !
I got there about 7.30pm
It was supposed to go on until 9pm
I had been in earlier in the day and asked about bringing a friend along - and was told my friend would not be able to go into the "hospitality" area. !!
Sounded something special.
Went on my own in the end ( lucky friend had a better offer) so wandered around trying to find the "hospitality" area.
By about 7.50pm eventually spotted a small area taped off.... guarded by sa's ( nearly typed sas = freudian slip;)) who refused to let anyone through without an invitation.
I was of course allowed in..... to a waste land !
Not a seat, not a glass, not a nibble..... there was about 6 tables, with a few empty platters from which I managed to find some cake crumbs and the odd broken twiglet.
They had run out of glasses, and when a customer asked if it was possible to try some Christmas cake I heard staff muttering under their breath about it.
There seemed to be lots of cases of drink and packs of nibbles, and christmas cakes, but the staff did not seem keen to actually open any of it.
I had planned to do a big shop - using £5 voucher and the 5 times point voucher attached to invite, but the shelves were virtually empty, and very few staff available to actually help customers find anything.
No £10 champagne.
Christmas Shop area was a complete mess, and very little stock left.
No Christmas Music playing - nothing.
At previous such evenings there were fashion shows, demonstrations, sampling Christmas lines in the food hall, and an overall bubbly festive atmosphere.
Last night was a major disappointment.
If M&S want to cut back - you don't need champagne etc, just a friendlier more welcoming atmosphere.
Save the money wasted on staff and posh food in the "hospitality" area, and just give card holders a voucher with their invite for a free tea or coffee and mince pie in the cafe..... would have been a better use of resources than paying sa's to act as bouncers
I have not been to an M&S evening for several years, and probably won't bother making the effort again.0
