I think I'm going to get the IKE'A mattress that someone (sorry memories rubbish) posted a link to yesterday.

Yes it's the M&S one! I see you got the same! Fab isn't it! I am soooo pleased with itNot decided on my mattress yet, but got a while yet.
Hey all,
Just dropping by to let you all know that baby Leon was born on his due date of 24 Jan 2011 at 8.08am weighing 3.58kg.
Only seven hours of labour due to induction after my waters broke two days earlier.
I know I haven't been around in the past couple of months, but a huge thank you to everyone for the help and support throughout my pregnancy.
Ash
Congratulations!
Charlie - hugs to you, depression sucks  Feel free to moan on here, I do
Flower - you poor thing, hopefully baby hurries up and you get your mummy cuddles soon!
Dusty - hope you're OK hun, you shouldn't be banging into wallsHave you drunk much water today?
Debs - congratulations, I remember you from less than 12 weeks :)After you get past that the time does fly, I am now 27 weeks
I've had a fairly productive day, cleaned the bathroom earlier and I did some gardening. I had bought some tubers that needed potting up, so have done that. Also dug up and potted some plants I had planted when we first moved, but now we are moving they are coming with us! Cut down some old stuff as well, and removed canes, so garden looks tidier now.
Just had a gorgeous bacon sandwich, and now having a sit down with a cup of tea, before I finish clearing up the kitchen.
Got hot water on early today, so might have a bath before OH comes home so I can soak for ages.
I managed to put all the guinea pigs out today, but won't be able to get them back in again, so a job for OH when he comes home.
Oh and I will do dinner tonight, which is sausages, beans and mash :cool:0 -
Hi ladies and bumps
Sorry not posted but been lurking, feeling bit out of sorts and tearful.
Hi ddebski_us, good to see you here xx Time doesn't seem like it is flying for me even though I'm 21 weeks now.
Flower, hope stubborn bubs gets a move on for you asap!
Congrats on new arrivals and newbies to the thread.
Sorry I have read all but can't remember everything!
As for me please feel free to ignore the following......
I still can't sleep, getting worse, when I do sleep getting bizarre dreams, some of which disturbing. Because I'm tired I'm getting teary.
I had a !!!!!!! useless consultnot sorry consultant appointment yesterday, was with one of her team. Was just no point and no concern raised. She just put no issues/problems in pregnancy on my notes!! She had my notes asked why I was there!! Because I'm supposed to be high risk:mad:. Said would have my BP checked before left as should have been done before saw her but did I have a history of high blood pressure?.....er yes read my notes, thats one reason I'm seeing you. I've also had some headaches recently. Ok was all she said. So I said the other reason was family history of diabetes...ok will refer you for GTT...err read my notes on the page you are on its been arranged, also I'm here as suffered with depression and still on tabs...er ok then. That was it on consulting me and discussing care plan as midwife had said. She did however eventually find heartbeat, but to be honest she wasn't really trying and just seemed to be randomly waving the thingy above my stomach:mad::mad:.
I didn't mention my BMI seeing how she didn't!! She said perhaps we should see you after GTT, why thank you! Had my blood pressure taken and despite me at near boiling point with her when she said why was it not being monitored by GP...er because GP said midwife would, midwife said consultant would my BP was only 127/70 amazingly. Oh and she tried to tell me my dates were wrong, until I pointed out she was using a 2010 calender:mad: Honestly I could have said my head had fallen off but I sewed it back on and a second one grew so I cut it off and she would have just said OK!!
Sorry for all the:mad:s when I see the midwife next will complain and also say if there is so little concern can I be classed as low risk, then I can give birth at birth centre less than a mile away....if it reopens for births by my due date as its not accepting births until the end of May due to staff shortages.
I'm also feeling low as today is the anniversary of losing my Dad and it would have been his birthday this Saturday. 5 years now and isn't any easier, but as a friend said I should think of the new life growing inside me and how pleased Dad would have been.
Oh and I don't know what to do re pushchairs and its doing my head in. Had heart set on Silvercross 3D but having a good play the handles felt too low at their highest point and felt like hardwork. Trying a Graco one with one handle felt higher and more natural than two handles. So if anyone has any ideas or experience of one handle pushchair for £250 or less, travel system preferred, or with footmuff then let me know!! I don't want one where you have to inflate tyres as I would be paranoid re punctures, so that will rule out 3 wheelers.
Thanks for reading if you've got this far, I know some of you are feeling down and I love the support we all give each other. Massive :grouphug: to you all xx:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0 -
Just saw the list and the amount of people between now and July is dwindling... :S Scaryyyy. It's quite worrying that I'm coming close to the halfway mark.
Also just thought I'd whinge a little bit. Feeling very sorry for myself as I'm in the stage where bump is tiny so just makes me look fat... like as if I have overhang. Silly bump. Also bump is being a bit greedy these days. Making me very hungry. So I'm having to snack on fruit and stuff a lot.
Congratulations ASHeta on the birth of Leon. Love that name!
The cot looks great digital.

Not decided on my mattress yet, but got a while yet.
Has anyone bought the IKEA cot mattress? Are you happy with it? I'm fairly sure it's the one I'll get as my Dad can collect it for me & at just under £40 it's a good price.0 -
babyboysmommy wrote: »I am delighted with mine. It's perfect. The delivery men said it was the 8th place they had delivered some of those cots to today. One delivery was to a shop who bought 5! By the time they came to put mine together there were well practiced LOL I was really impressed with them, they couldn't have been nicer.

Yeah the blokes who delivered mine said they'd been delivering a lot! Not hard to see why at that price. It looks much better than in the photo online as well. The wood is a really nice colour. I have 'cot love' at the moment :rotfl:
The IKEA one is good, but quite a drive from us, so not sure whether its worth it. It would cost about £15 to drive there and back I think, plus the temptation of other stuff. I've seen one on Amazon I like, and Kiddicare have one which is a bit more expensive but also looks good. Tough choice! I'm not spending more than £60, it's silly to think the mattress cost more than the cot :rotfl:
One lady on B&B I spoke to had spent about £250 on a cot then another £100 on a mattress, noway could I afford or justify that (though I would if I had the cash to splash of course!) :cool:0 -

LOL You are not the only one with cot love today :rotfl: We are an hours drive from IKEA but my parents are nearer so are happy to collect one for me & then bring it over the next time they visit which makes for free deliveryWe spent £110 on the mattress for DS & it was a waste of money spending that much. I really don't want to spend more than £40 this time.

What do you mean? Has someone else poppped?:T
MadBird, sorry you have a crappy consultant, i don't think much to mine either, but yours sounds alot worse. Re pushchairs, i have this travel system
http://www.boohoobaby.co.uk/prod_show.asp?id=1020&ref=froogle&prodid=1020
mine is actually 3.5 years old, but i have bought the carrycot to go with mine as the original system didn't come with it. Its fab, so easy to push and has adjustable handles. I'm 5ft10 and have no problems with this. It also still looks new. Its supposed to be the brand that celebs go for, although its not that well heard of, but i beleive its the same company as Jane.
Although its pricey, they go for peanuts on ebay. Thats where i got my carrycot from, brand new but £70 instead of £250:):)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

I'm glad you've said that hun, as I can't see the point of spending that much either. I will get him a spring mattress, with washable cover, but otherwise what else is there to them?! Some in M&P cost £150, unbelievable money. That would pay for his car seat, which we still need to buy. Ideally I just want to spend £40, TBH I will probably get the one on Amazon as that includes free next day delivery as well.
Good deal on living so near IKEA, and the folks living nearer still! I think it's a great place, but gosh the temptation! :rotfl:0
