Morning everyone. Thanks for my happy due date :) It's given me goose pimples seeing my name in bold.

@Chakani - I hope we're not bold for long. Don't want to be competing with MI3 for longest time at the top!

@Flower - if you read this. Good luck for today. Hopefully you will have mummy cuddles sooooooon

@RBG - did you stay or did you go? I hate meeting new people, so I think you are really brave. I think I'd be reluctant to cancel, but if I was feeling as rough as I do now then I wouldn't feel guilty for cancelling. So only you can know how you feel :)

News from my end is my rabbit is still terribly poorly. I'm really worried about her. She didn't eat her pellets last night - just the veg. :(

Better news - I got my nappies and reusable wipes today :) Am so excited about them. I have some questions about them...

    * How many times should I prewash them for improved absorbancy?
    * Do I need to prewash the resusable wipes?
    * I got some paper liners, do I use these from the start? Or do you not even need liners?
    * I also got fleece liners, again do these need pre-washing and when do I use them? They seem quite big. I think I remember reading to use fleece liners when the poos are solid.

  • Hiya again Lady bumps.....

Have had me another couple of hours sleep and would probably still be asleep if it wasn't for hubby phoning to see what time i was going out lol.....

have decided that I must go out as I have a couple of things I need to get anyways so will go and do some shopping and meet this girl at lunchtime and have a bite to eat and a natter then come home so will probably be out for a couple of hours which is more than enough atm I think....I have my sexy belt to where while I am out so it might help with the pain and discomfort which is what has been putting me off.....half an hour shopping and i soooo sore I just want to cry so here's hoping it will help :) Thanks all for your input it really is appreciated...hubby has told me when I get home to put the feet up and do nothing around the house until he gets home so that is the plan now I think

Growth vibes to PC.....at my 28 weeks scan the alien was measuring 25 weeks but he has caught up and at the scan last week was target size so lets hope things have gone the same with you xxxx

Hugs Anni...you are allowed to moan as you are PG and that's what we PG women do.....you are nothing like my SIL who from the second she finds out she is PG has the biggest grimace on her face it's quite scary...I'm amazed the children haven't popped out looking as unhappy lol

ok labour vibes to those in need, sticky vibes to anyone who wants them and big hugs all round (35 +5 today Hitchins we are nearing D day lol)

Sammy, thats actually something I was thinking about the other night. We have nothing in place for the kids. no life insurance, wills or savings.
This will be our year to get it sorted.

I think out main thing to think about is who will bring up the kids. Now we will have 3 its hard who decide who should take them.
My Sil and Bil and 2 kids already (one is 9 and one 6 months old) I like the way Sil brings up her kids and is similar to our values. However OH doesnt really speak to his brother much and they are working hard to make ends meet as it is.

Both my sisters have no kids. One is only just married and is 26 so I feel she should be allowed to live her life a bit with hubby.
My other sister isnt married but has been with her OH for 15 years! She is also skint but I think she is the best person to take them on in terms of being similar to us.

Oh's parents live in a 2 bed flat in Glasgow, and work very hard. I think the 3 kids would be too much for MIl.
so that also leaves my parents. They are the best equipped as far as space, can drive, nice area etc. But its a hard conversation to have as it would seem i favour my family more.

Im worried that if we didnt make a will it would be a huge family fight. Id want to make sure that whoever they went to, the other side of the family would be able to see them as much as poss.

Hopefully nothing will happen to us, but you have to be prepared.

Im not sure where to start with wills. ive never ever spoke to a lawyer for anything. Does it cost a lot? Would one will be enough or do we need one each as we are not married. so many confusing things to deal with lol.

I have a list of things to do once bubs is here and we know all is well, including registering the birth, opening a child savings account etc, I'll add making a will onto that too. Looks like I'll be busy....:D

tell me about it - the list is never ending :rotfl:

Yes, we def want to see nursery pics - yay for nannas helping out. MIL has been a godsend painting our baby's room - and she's booked in to wallpaper the landing and our bedroom next :D

RBG - Have fun. It will be good to get some fresh air!!

Labour vibes to the boldies - come on babies!!

OMG, I'm 33 weeks today - only 7 weeks to go :D and 3 weeks left at work - yippee

ETA: Do you all have a feeling of when you will pop. It's prob just wishful thinking but I'm sure I will go early - not massively - maybe a few days.

Both mummies and mummies to be - what are you plans for LO/s should anything happen to you and your OH? I've been giving this a lot of thought lately as DH and I haven't prepared any wills - we always thought we would wait for our first child to come along first. I'm thinking that I will probably ask my sister and her OH to have legal responsibility for baby should anything happen to us both - but obv I need to speak to her first! The child will have Godparents that are friends, but I think if anything were to happen, it's best for the child to stay within the family. I know its a bit of a morbid topic, but thoughts please :)
We've thought a lot about it.

We already have insurance that will pay off the house if one or both of us dies.

OH has insurance with work which I just need him to find out the terms on.

Then the plan is for me to get insurance (did a quote through Cavendish - recommended on MSE pages) with Aviva, this will be £5 a month for 18 years and will be covered for £180k.

The part we're struggling on is guardianship. We're both only children and don't have any super close friends who we'd feel right to leave our kids with. At the moment we've decided on our parents, but I guess that's not a long term answer unfortunately.

Congrats on being 33 weeks :)

My OH thought baby would be here early or at least on time! So he was wrong.

I always thought 7 - 10 days late. I was born 6 days past my due date.

Nic- Crikey I can see how yours is a bit of a quandry. I have no idea on the legal side of how it is all drawn up - something I will have to investigate at some point soon too. I suppose I'm quite fortunate in that my options are prob limited - both sets of parents are in their 60s and kids have long flown the nest. My brother is a singleton living abroad with no ties, and DH has one sister who still lives at home and is showing no signs of settling down! So that pretty much leaves us with my sis who has just had her first child, so there will only be a couple of months between my girl and her boy. Her and her OH have been together 15 years and have very good jobs and lifestyle. So to me, that would be the ideal choice - but then I guess she has to agree lol. I think I will bring it up with her next week and see what she thinks.

It's complicated being a grown up! And there's me thinking choosing a pram is hard :rotfl:

Giz, i got some microfibre Little lamb nappies to use along with my terrys. Both say to wash at least 3 times (without conditioner) and they will be absorbent. But 6 times for maximum absorbancy.
Ive been putting mine in with the kids white school stuff whenever I do them rather than seperate washes.
I would do the same for the liners. i think the wipes would be ok. Maybe wash them once just now then once when the baby is here and put away damp ready to use.

Re paper liners, if you are using the nappies from newborn then yes id use them. Dont forget how mingin newborn poo can be. it goes all through the colours of the rainbow.

I ordered a pack of nappy nippas and 2 extra wraps from ebay, so thats me fully sorted. I have 12 terry suqares, 2 little lamb nappies (6lb-20lb) 1 Motherease nappy and 4 wraps.

The main reason I never used the terries for DD was the pin. I was scared of stabing her. So now I have nappy nippas ive no excuse. lol

I just need a bin with a lid now.

R.e the fleece liners, fleece are fantastic for liquid poo's as they draw moisture through and dry the poo out a bit so its easily tipped fown the loo. It will just roll off the fleece.

I didnt get on with paper liners at all.
