Well we survived shopping with no incidents :)

I have decided that this week I will concentrate on appreciating:
That I have plenty of time and lap-space (well, the lap space might be exaggerating) for making the most of my time on my own with my little boy
That life and the entire family isn't revolving around the state and use of my nipples
That I can move from one room to another without 10 minutes of wondering how I'm going to carry everything
That when I am awake at 3am, I can just snuggle in the silence
That I can wee without it stinging
That I look at my belly and see a lovely round pregnant tummy and not a giant jelly-belly
That I can have a wee and a shower by myself
That I can justify eating whatever I want, because I'm pregnant
That my mum and OH are running around making me tea and helping with the housework and generally being lovely

All this being said, I would be very happy if baby got a move on!
  • Thanks DP. :)

3 weeks and 3 days to go until D-date. However had the midwife yesterday and baby is still breech, and she doesnt fancy the chances of he/she turning around now. Got scan on Monday 7th and if baby is still breech then they will discuss options and book a c-section :( I know this may sound crazy to some but I was looking forward to going through labour and feel quite cheated at the prospect of just going into hospital, being operated on and then the baby being there. Plus not keen on the recovery time either. I know there is nothing that can be done about it, and will do whatever is best for baby, but the thought of it keeps getting me down. Anyone on here know what I mean? I hope I havent offended any of you who have had (or are going to have) c-sections.
Also, anyone else experienced breech babies after 37 weeks turning??? I am guessing it will be obvious to me if baby makes a move to the head-down position?

As always, thanks for reading and any advice/words of comfort will be greatly appreciated. This place is my first port of call when I have questions etc, you are all fab!!!

Unfortunately I cant help with the baby turning successfully (unless he decides to sort himself out in the next week lol) But this is my 2nd baby and both have been breech. My MW did mention that I may have a tilted pelvis which is why I had SPD with both and both have been breech. I was dead set against a section with DD but she had to come out of the sunroof as a natural breech birth wasnt an option due to her positioning (leg by her ear). This time I was determined that I wanted a natural birth having been cheated out of it last time...... however it is seeming that I may yet again end up with a Csection. (hurumph). I can honestly say that the only operation I have ever had was DD's arrival so I have nothing to compare it to, but still it wasnt all that bad and I got a gorgeous baby girl for my troubles lol. I am somewhat peeved that history seems to be repeating itself but I have tried the bum in the air and rocking but not felt any huge movements. There is this website for tips on how to turn a breech baby. All in all a Csection isnt all that bad, but I think its only natural to feel a bit cheated (I felt I'd let myself down), but a healthy gorgeous baby goes a long way to take your mind off it :D

I feel I may have been wittering somewhat, so will leave it at that but if you have any questions I will be happy to answer.

I just emailed my friend to ask as i know her bubs was breech right up til the end. He turned all by himself at 38 weeks, so there is still hope.
She was getting on all fours and rocking etc. she said it felt weird when she felt him moving. She went on to have a natural birth.

janinie, I remember reading someone posting that baby turned right at the last minute (can't remember who though, brain like a sieve today). Think they were just about to have a c section and did a final scan and baby was the right way around, but definitely remember reading something along those lines so there is hope for you yet.

There are things I have read to get baby to turn - spending time on your hands and knees is one I remember - have you tried this?

Flower - I know what you mean about induction, I am worried I will be the same (can't offer advice tho, sorry). Have you tried Clary sage oil - my friend is convinced 10 drops in her bath (waters broke), then 12 the next day (labour started) got things happening for her.

Sharkey yay for cleaner and for going out for food - this maternity leave doesn't sound too bad after all :D

Hi, I am off for an early night in a minute but just wanted to thank you all for your words of advice/comfort. Its good to hear from others and especially those who have been through it before.

Just watched OBEM from last night and it didnt help... good to see a C-section but still feel slightly down about the prospect.

Will be getting on my hands and knees lots over the next week or so, lol!

Will reply properly tomorrow or the next day (work allowing)!

    But thank you :T

LOL someone at work mentioned them this afternoon and since then I have been desperate for some. I thought she said you could get them in Asda and went to have a look (on the pretence of buying bread LOL :o) but couldn't see any! Boooo

    @garnet - nice bump pic :)

I just tried out the TENS machine. I don't know what I expected but I'm glad I tried it now so I know what to expect. It's a very strange sensation. I think I can see it will work though.

OH is now packing his 'hospital bag' :) I'm sure he thinks something is going to happen tomorrow :)
