Congratulations Mit3 - beautiful name as well, I'm so pleased for you. Hope things are progressing well for OTE, and that yours makes a decision one way or the other, Sharkey - nothing worse than contractions for no apparent reason.

Well I'm still here - just been to the midwife, and baby's head is completely free, so it looks like a few more might be queue jumping past us yet, although I would like it if you would all wait politely in line and keep me company please :rotfl:

Midwife has shown me some acupressure points to play with, and suggested yoga exercises to try, but the fact I can do them makes me think they're not going to work :( Somehow, it feels worse when someone else tells you it's probably going to be a while yet, even though I knew it already really. I'm booked in for another try at a sweep on Friday.

In the meantime, I am going to make a cup of tea, and allow myself half an hour to feel miserable, then I'm going to get the sewing machine out and make some pretty new covers for my moses basket, and make the most of DS being at nursery.

Not sure if its any consolation but my MW told me that the head could be free up to an hour before contractions start the second time round.... ;)

I wish I could sew, I need some cushions for the rocking chair in the nursery and can't see any to buy (well not if i'm wanting to be MSE :money:)

    All done.

Boss finished phone call and her only words really were "well that's quite something" and "Ill have to look for someone to replace you" - oh well at least she didn't cry!

I feel like a weight has been lifted now anyway and tbh I don't care that she didn't congratulate me and is clearly unhappy because Im very happy that Im going to have a lovely little baby in a few months and I won't have to look at her mug everyday!:D

I know - the annoying thing is, I can feel it popping in and out, and all the exercises are to do with opening the hips - I can still bite my toenails if I ever felt the need :rotfl: so no problems there.

Sewing cushion covers is dead easy - you can do them like pillowcases so they just overlap rather than messing about with zips and things - there is a sewing thread somewhere on here where there are loads of keen beans - or you could just sew or stick felt onto plain cushions to make them match whatever decorating you're doing? Google Wee Folk Art - they have lots of free patch patterns that you can copy, and they need virtually no skill whatsoever.

Not if I can help it! To be honest I was on the search before I found out I was pregnant and I was actually offered a job on Christmas Eve but as I wouldn't be elligable for Maternity Pay I decided not to take it and to look for something else whilst Im off.:D

My only worry is that she will mess me around with my pay but I have spoken to our head accountant who has told me to go to her if she tries anything and she will try to sort it out!

She does have a crap attitude her DIL had a baby last summer and she was moaning that baby was 3 days old and DIL was not cooking them sunday lunch

I'll give reusable wipes ago. Must admit I love my huggies wipes though.
I'm not sure I like the idea of the same wipes for bottoms getting used for faces, even after washing. I might get 2 different colours and keep them separate.
I bought IKEA flannels to use as washable wipes and they come with five different colour loops on them so I had three colours for bottoms, one for baths and one for meal times. (Although I switched to J-cloths for meals as they work better.)
A big plus for us was the only people who baby-sit for us are the grandparents who could fold a terry nappy in their sleep LOL and a friend of mine who used terry square nappies for her son who is the same age as DS. She loved them & was really pleased we decided to use them as well :) I didn't realise until I went public on Facebook about the fact we were going to use them just how many of my friends used washable nappies. A lot more popular amongst them than I realised.
One of my friends asked to watch me change a nappy the first time we went round after Alice had been born because she'd never seen terry squares in use.

Actually there's a question I keep meaning to ask. I've bought 2 nursing bras, but don't want to get anymore till I know I can do it. But if successful, how many nursing bras will I need?

Also anyone ever used washable breast pads? Are breastpads something you need for the entire time you are breastfeeding?
I had four - I actually bought them and started wearing them while still pregnant as it seemed a waste to buy non nursing ones for such a short time and it meant I still got use out of them regardless of breastfeeding outcome.

Breastpad use varies from person to person. I used them for about four days but only because I thought I would need them but as it turned out I didn't. Other people seem to need them for ages. I'd suggest starting off with disposables and then see how you go.

I was wondering, is anyone else on here breastfeeding their previous while pregnant with the next? My DD and I still have a BFing relationship (she is 18 months) and I am wondering now whether to wean her to enter the world of tandem nursing. I'd love to hear other people's stories.
Getting pregnant while breastfeeding wasn't an option for me but I have read bits and pieces about BF while pregnant and tandem nursing. From what I have read it is common (although I certainly couldn't give you a figure) for children to wean while you are pregnant due to changes in milk supply/flavour. I have heard of children then restarting after the baby is born and milk supply returns to "normal" but don't know how common this is. Apparently BF while pregnant can become uncomfortable due to increased sensitivity.
