Had my GTT this morning. It wasn't too bad, the time didn't drag as much as I thought it would, they put you in a private room with recliner and tv! Have felt pretty tired since though. They said to phone tomorrow for results which I thought was pretty quick, fingers crossed all is ok!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

Well I have been having irregular contractions since yesterday but they done seem to be coming to much which is rather disappointing. I've had some blood when I wiped earlier (sorry TMI), but nothing else, my lower back is quite sore as well just a dull ache if you know what I mean. Got everything organised so hoping that bubs is going to make an appearance soon as I am getting fed up now.
Hope everyone is ok. xxx
I'm fed up now i'm near the end too, part of me is getting pretty scared though, especially as i've just seen the list that JoJo has just updated and i'm now joint 4th (not in bold) Its made worse that everytime you see/feel something then it settles down again... Hope it happens soon for you (no queue jumping though)
Congratulations MI3 beautiful :j

I've ordered some reusable nappies from eBay ( all new) I've got a littlelamb nappy and wrap to try and a Motherease nappy and wrap coming. I still have around 12 terry squares that I bought for DD. The rest ended up as window cloths lol.
I plan to start using them when bubs is 10lb ish.
Reusables are so cute. DD and I were playing putting it on Baby Annabel all afternoon. That's her trained ready for the real thing.
I also used terry squares for DD1 for 2 1/2 years and never had a problem with them(Although once she got too big for the newborn fold I just used to fold them into a pad similar to a bambino mio... Saved faffing with nippas and things too
Actually there's a question I keep meaning to ask. I've bought 2 nursing bras, but don't want to get anymore till I know I can do it. But if successful, how many nursing bras will I need?
Also anyone ever used washable breast pads? Are breastpads something you need for the entire time you are breastfeeding?
2 bras is fine for the time being too, see how you get on with feeding before you commit yourself to any more... Plus, give it a few weeks until your supply settles and your boobs stay a regular size..

Getting my gorgeous daughter back today, its only been a couple days but my god the house is quiet. I need a maggie cuddle!!
Actually, mums of 2 or more..........do you/did you ever worry about not being able to love number 2 (or more) as much as your first? It worries me, I know that its probably unnecessary. How I feel at the moment is that even though Im pregnant, Maggie is very much number one, will that change when this one comes along?
[/QUOTE]I wasn't so much worried I wouldn't love the new baby... More worried I would love DD1 less... I never got that maternal rush that everyone talks about the first time and it took me a good few months to feel an attachment to her...
I found it so much easier with DD2, but I think that's because I was already someone's Mum, it was easier to step into that role.. And I love DD2 just as much as DD1... But in different ways...
For e.g, I'm very proud of DD1 for being so confident and working hard at school... I'm very protective of DD2 because she's so much younger and more dependant for many things... EtcHas anyone else felt a movement that is more like a shudder / vibration than a kick? I'm wondering whats going on - been feeling this low down every now and again for a few weeks now, very weird (weirder than having a baby growing inside you!!).

Hi Ladies!
Was speed reading back few pages to catch up and SO read this bit wrong in my head:I'm a Samantha too, wouldn't have thought it was me they're looking for, although I could use a nice big shiny rock to cheer me up.....
Had a good weekend, finally got our double pushchair off ebay. Wanted the Duolite from Mothercare but not wanting to pay full price as pretty sure DS won't want to be in it for long before he insists on walking everywhere, so been keeping an eye out on ebay for one nearby that we could collect. Got one 5 months old, barely used for £35 yay!
Also went looking at more cars, had many car disasters lately and are down to using our 'second' car, a tiny KA, which took ages to find a reasonably priced car seat to fit it for DS, and current pushchair doesn't fit in the boot, so definitely in need of something bigger for when baby comes! Think we finally found something we can afford that doesn't need much doing to it, waiting for the garage to call back to confirmt hey will fix a few things before we buy it. This will be the 3rd car we've attempted to buy in a week, first one we realised the mileage had been clocked when we did the hpi check (showed a third of what it had actually done!), the second was a set-up and DH was being led into being robbed of the money he was carrying to buy the car!! Third time lucky hey!
Sleep-wise not so good - am being woken up by pains in my legs most nights, not cramp but aches and pains that last a few hours. Good job DH is on late shifts at the moment and can get up to see to DS when he wakes up, as there's no way I can get out of bed until my legs have 'warmed up' for a bit. I'd just fall straight over lol!
Been to aqua-natal class this morning, always makes me feel better to have a good move about in the water.DM just been Googling and if you are losing your plug it doesn't always mean labour is iminent, it can come away for days even weeks and regenerates.
Last time, I had a 'show' about 3 times. Exciting the first time, not so much after that when I realised it was just tricking me and nothing ever followed.0 -
Oh and on the subject of packing your hospital bags, in addition to everything already mentioned I have got:
Pillow - we are recommended to take one of our own in, apparently it's a comfort thing and sometimes there are not enough if you want more on your bed.
Book/Magazines - you be there for some time with not much happening.
Hairbands/clips - My hair kept falling in my face while in labour last time and I was getting really annoyed with it!
Lip Balm - A lot of women find they get sore dry lips with all the breathing in labour.
Lots of change for the hospital car park - you never know how long you will be there, and there will be no sympathy from the car park attendants if your ticket runs out while you are in labour, giving birth or in recovery.0 -
Congratulations MI3, so pleased your little one has finally arrived
Such a lovely name as well
((hugs)) for car problems Nic, has to all come at once doesn't itxx

Next time I have a GTT I'm going wherever you were - I spent 2 hours in the docs waiting room surrounded by horrid coughing people (may not have all been horrid but I was paranoid) with my laptop balanced on my knees trying to entertain myself!!0 -
Many congratulations MI3, can't wait for pics and birth story, hope you are both well xxx
Good luck On The Edge!
RBG hope physio helps and you're not suffering too much x
Been in and seen some old work colleagues today, good to get out of house, then called in Tesco and used some of the club vouchers to get some more nappies and wipes.
I'm off up the outlaws in a bit, or whenever OH gets home. That means no sleep as never do when stay up there overnight. Can't be any more tired than am already. So if I don't get online, hugs, stay put vibes, labour vibes as necessary!:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0
