On the off chance that this hasn't been posted and any of you are north-eastern ladies called Samantha, have you seen this? A deployed soldier proposed to someone else's answering machine and the hunt is on to find the right woman.

That's sweet SugarSpun. Thanks for posting
I'm Samantha, but don't think I'm the one they're looking for - I think my husband might be a bit miffed0 -
hello ladies,
firstly, gorgeous baby photos. Fair play to you for perservering with BF.
I'm after a bit of advice. Ive been having sparadic contractions all day. Been bouncing on my ball and got clary sage going in the oil burner. Thing is my hubby has recently started a new job working 11 hrs shifts and he is working tonight. It is only a 5 min walk away but it may take a while to get cover. I don't know what to do. Shall I let him go to work?
thanks
EDIT: at what point do you start using a tens machine?:heart2:Married 03/09/2005

Congratulations sunny!
Sarah - Lovely pictures!
Well ladies, I didn't ask OH to get me tangfastics in the end. However, when he got here, he had a big packet of them anyway!I asked if he read the forum and he said no, they were on offer in WHSmith and thought we could share them.
Then, I had an amazon delivery that he'd ordered which was season 3 of Lost as we've been going through the series (he's seen it before I haven't). That was a pleasant surprise. Buggy arrived which was good as OH liked it.
To top off the weekend, OH truly got himself out of the doghouse by planning the weekend just before Valentine's day. He's booked us into a hotel in Reading and he's planning on taking me out for a meal and going to the cinema so I think he might actually be trying to make it up to me. Sadly, he's now returned to Reading so won't see him until 11th.
How is everyone coping with sleeping?! Just I can't seem to get comfy on either side these days. Hip starts to ache and I can't lie on my front so I have to just lie on my back but then I can't sleep like that. Grrrrr it's so annoying!A-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Good Luck to all who comp!

On_the_edge at antenatal the woman said start using the Tens as soon as contractions start and you know they're contractions. I don't think I got my head around it fully but I think it helps build up your tolerance to the pain, so the sooner you use it the better.
Ooh how exciting!! Could your OH arrange for someone to be on standby to cover him if he really is only 5 mins around the corner? I guess otherwise it depends how you feel...
Dustyabout the damp patch. I hear you about old houses, every job uncovers something else we need to sort out. Still at least ours is starting to resemble a house again, should have most of it done before April. Hope OH can find the problem and its not too bad
Love the pics SAwhat a gorgeous baby xx
Supermaiden, try not to worry. Thats exactly what happened to me about 17 weeks, I felt the baby (or I thought I did) a few times, then nothing for a couple of weeks. It is probably just that baby has shifted to a different position where you can't feel him / her as easily. They do like to keep us on our toes...
Thanks for the tips for hospital bags, I keep adding to my list
Has anyone else felt a movement that is more like a shudder / vibration than a kick? I'm wondering whats going on - been feeling this low down every now and again for a few weeks now, very weird (weirder than having a baby growing inside you!!).

Another queue jumper? Not fair! It's my turn, please??
Seriously though, if the contractions are still sporadic, it could well be a long while yet - how long do you think it would take to get cover? Usually when they start to get regular, you will still get plenty of warning, but you know your body best, and how you are feeling. Do you have anyone else around for moral support? If not, maybe it's just more important that he's home anyway?
You can start using the TENS anytime you feel you are starting to get sore - if hubby does go to work, it might be worth attaching the pads before he goes, even if you don't really want it yet - it's hard to apply them on your own.
It doesn't look like mine is going to be a due date baby0 -
ema - i had that last night and was wondering the same thing, was really strange! Was like a vibration.0
