Afternoon all,
Thanks for sharing hospital bags Giz and the rest of you for tips etc. I know I've some time to go but was about to ask someone to share so I can save for nearer the time!
Think I had 6 hours solid sleep once got to sleep, I was out last night and pub really busy, couldn't settle when got in and felt really agitated. So far today I've finished tumble drying 2 duvet covers and another load of washing on, washing my "work clothes", as won't need for sometime, think will get some vacuum bags and store in loft.
Re the travel cot I posted, I'm thinking of having that as the main/only cot. My niece was in one for 2 years before going into a proper bed, then my nephew was in it for further 2, then became play pit, and is now used as toy storage and for dive bombing into off bed!! I just think it will get so much use, more than a cot bed etc. We're going to the outlaws Tuesday and they've Babies R Us 5 mins from them so will have a look. OH says we can get it if want! First big baby purchase!
Sorry some of you are suffering today with aches and pains, hugs xx:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0 -
our nursery has been painted for a few weeks now, my mum has just arrived to put up the border and we've found what looks like a patch of damp on the ceiling
OH has gone to the pub to watch the footie so will be sending him up a ladder to investigate when he gets back - another thing we don't need..!0 -
Good afternoon,
Dusty - That sucks re the damp patch. What have you got above it? Is it the loft? Water tank? Def get hubby to investigate. Actually I was thinking of you this morning on the dog walk - I never replied to you the other week about hubby's working hours. Sorry, baby brain is taking my memory awayWe're quite lucky in that due to DH's job he chooses his hours. He has a lot of motivation so does get his hours done lol. Depending on the time of year, if we have any big bills coming up etc, he generally starts work around 4-5 pm and does around 12 hours. But if he is having a naff night he come homes earlier. We're totally used to it now - and its nice to have the afternoon to spend together, and then I get to watch what I want on the telly
I just keep having visions of him being at work though when I'm in labour, and he's far away - oh well we'll just have to see what fate gives us.
So I still can't decide on the carpet. I'll wait for MIL to finish painting today then I'll go in the room and have a play around with the samples. I really need to let the carpet man know today so we can have it fitted at the end of the week. Decisions, decisions.
Baby is having some hiccups at the mo
Hope everyone is well x0 -
Hi all, hope everyone is well.
I wrote about a week ago that I thought I was feeling the baby move on 2 seperate days. Ive not felt it sinceMaybe its because I want to feel it lol and the other times it just happened.
Yesterday I felt all day like my bladder was full but just trickles at the loo which was annoying! Dont know if 17 weeks is too early for baby to be at my bladder and making a difference? Also got a tummy ache later in the day so Im stressing now, Im such a worrier! Just hoping things are ok with little one.
Had no sickness yesterday so that was nice! Hoping for none again today. It seems if I can get some toast quick enough when I get out of bed on a morning then Im not hugging the loo lol.
Only 3 weeks til 20 week scan eeek! Cannot waitHjoping we can see what we are having!
Ive been having trouble keeping up with the thread these last few days as Ive had work and things but hopefully things are going well for everyone. x:j0 -
Is it bad Sammy that I don't sctually know what is above it????
We have a loft but i've never been up there, This is OH's house, I moved in 3 years ago and leave the loft and cellar to him while I've re-done the 'pretty' rooms. He'll have to have a look later. the house is like the house that jack built. Proper old victorian terrace, freezing cold, high ceilings, rotten plaster, sloping walls etc - it's a nightmare getting anything done in here.
Good news re: your OH, I'm so used to my OH doing nights it would be odd having him here, plus it is lovely having the tele to myself all week.
I would go for the beige carpet. Our nursery walls have ended up a dusky pink (not intentionally, paint looked different in tin) and we have a beige carpet. We have the same dusky pink/mink bedding and curtains up and the beige carpet thankfully breaks it up. Just my thoughts anyway0 -
Sharkey - wouldn't say you needed a maternity bra, but buy some larger size ones for when your milk comes in, I didn't with DD and my god was I in agony and had very deformed breasticles!! Won't be making that mistake again *shudders*
Dusty - know what you mean, our DD is 3 and I can't help thinking I won't feel the same about this one, but then again when I was pregnant with her I didn't think I'd be able to feel as much for her as I did the dog! :rotfl:
Supermaiden - try not to panic, I didn't feel much movement until quite late on with this one, and the bladder problem will no doubt be your uterus squishing it, mines the size of a pea!Oh and the pains, most probably ligaments.
Laptops fixed so I won't be absent as much now!:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0 -
Afternoon,
Had a nice shopping trip with my sister. Went to Primark and got two nightes with buttons down front, also got two packs of five knickers for £2.50 each. The disposable knickers were £2.14 for five so think primark ones are a good option. Also went to Boots and got nipple cream, maternity pads, breast pads and some mini toletries for hospital bag. Feeling a lot more organised now although got a while to go still.
Dusty - hope the damp can be sorted easilly.
Supermaiden - i didn't really start feeling baby move till 18 weeks and was a few weeks after that it was more regular so i wouldn't worry.0 -

Congratulations!Hello ladies
Been awol but have had my 20 weeks scan. All was well but the little so and so wouldn't co-operate at all, arms under head, legs tucked up under bum and nothing would make them move. So we're still a reluctant Team Yellow, please could someone add it to the list next time it's updated? She did say, from the little she got to see, if she had to say she thought a girl, but it was only 65%. I'm not sure if there's a Team Peach
OH got to see lots and was laughing at all them moving their mouth, I got to see them yawn which was really surreal!
In absence of knowing what to call them, they have now been christened Six of Ten.
Lovely pics!0 -
Dusty - Don't worry I've never been in the loft either. Always make DH go up there - might be full of creepies for all I know
Hope your DH finds the source of the damp. My DH has just got up so I'll let him have his cup of tea and then we need to make a decision on this pesky carpet!
Sharkey - I wouldn't worry about maternity bras if you're not planning on BF'ing, but I would maybe get a couple of cheapo non wired larger ones for comfort if you get engorged boobies.0 -
Afternoon all
Hope you all you lovely ladies and bumps are well, I have been lurking when I can but I can't retain much at the mo!
I just wanted to thank you all on the lovely messages after the birth of Oliver. I will post a birth story as soon as I have a spare moment (which will be about when he is at school at this rate!)
Congratulations to all new mummies, 2girls, claire, Lwcus and sunny xx
I'm struggling to breastfeed at the moment because Ollie was so tiny he gets very tired and needs constant feeding almost which has made me very sore and exhaused so I'm having a few days off and put him on the bottle/expressing whilst I get some rest. He is currently feeding every 2hours day and night so the bottle has helped other people to feed him whilst I sleep.
My midwife who I saw when I got home wasn't the best, I asked her to check if Ollie was latchng correctly but was fobbed off but I've seen another one today who has helped me much more get and I'm going to seek out additional help.
Anyway, he is awake for feeding again, catch you all later.
Vibes to all who need them. Some pics to coo over xxxVirtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110
