But not all women are in a position relationshipwise to have a child while in the 'perfect' age group - it's those women that I feel for - I know they feel enough pressure as it is - they hear their body clock ticking - they are not choosing on purpose to delay starting a family - but hey that's how it is for us ladies.
Me personally fertility wise - I concieved first cycle with this baby (I'm 38 now but was 37 when bean was concieved) - I also concieved first cycle with my first pregnancy when I was 28 which I subsequently miscarried - I was pregnant 5 weeks later with DS so I have always been lucky on the fertility front pretty much regardless of age.
However I've had 2 miscarriages while in the 'perfect' age range.
I think regardless of age there are always risks and I think every pregnant woman is aware of them however old they are - we don't need it ramming down our throats and being told what to do! (if that's the right phrase?!)
My fertility history is: married at 21 waited till 26 to try - nothing happened
My investigations including 3 attempted lap and dyes 2 attempted hysterosalpingograms, then a cervix stretch (possibly worse than birth) then another lap and dye, and hysterosalpingogram. 10 x rounds of IUI then 1 round of IVF with ICSI all over 5 years.
All got me nowhere then 2 months after the failed IVF we conceived naturally!, 2 years later we decided to go with the flow for 2 years to see if anything would happen if not then give up (as I'd be 37 by then) and literally after once (not 1 month but once IYKWIM) here we are. I was a few months off 35 when I conceived so clearly more fertile than at 26-31.galvanizersbaby wrote: »Re changing bags - I do like the ones that look like handbags but am wondering what OH would look like carrying them!?:D
Was thinking of trying to get some sort of unisex/rucksack type bag but would like a nice quality one if anyone has any suggestions
Or perhaps I could get 2? - one each
He either wont carry it, or if he does it will be in the "it's not my bag" carry mode, which is at arms length with a look of disgust:rotfl:AKA: PC

So the actual pushchair has a lie flat position so you can use from birth but think baby would be facing away from you.
Think that's what you mean anyway?!
Yeah that is what I meant. That's fine, baby would only be in it for a little while. It's more just when going for walks down the seafront in the first few weeks, I can keep an eye on him/her. I just realised on the video they show baby sat in the carseat attachment and one website says with carseat it is parent facing. Grandmother has said I was in one like it when I was a baby and I was okay so I assume it's okay.A-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Dusty, I would definently buy something else and try and sell it. However not sure id buy one big thing as it might be hard to sell on. (that bracelet is lovely though) id maybe buy a few smaller things, maybe a watch and a couple of bracelets etc. Im just thinking about selling it. I know your not out to make a profit or anything but you would need to make your money back.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0

Dusty - have a look on ebay and see what trinkets are selling for in Ernest Jones on there. I would presume special occasion gifts for Christenings/Weddings etc sell well. It may be that you can make your money back that way?Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110

Im enjoying all the group hugs today. This is one of the nicest threads on the whole of MSE. Especially considering it its 98% hormonal females. But we all have the same thing in common and a lot of us are in similar situations. its great to get advice or just a virtual hug now and again.
can I have some advice please? I really need to buy some more maternity jeans. I have Mothercare over the bump ones (now minus 2 inches from the bottom, thanks to my scissors ) but they keep slipping down. Im thinking of getting under the bump M&P ones, maybe these ones

but im not sure what their sizes are like. should I just get my usual size, or go bigger?
So far any tops I have bought are all just my normal size, but I dont hink ive had anything from M&P before. Newlook only seem to have 32 and 34 leg online.
I have Mamas and Papas under the bump jeans - I have them on this very moment as I type
I got mine on the 3 jeans for a tenner promotion and had to buy a size 6 as that was all that was left (would normally be an 8) but they seem to fit fine.
So I would say go for your normal size.
By the way they are really nice quality0 -

There is literally nothing I want, the jewellery that was stolen was left to me by a family member and I never wore it (really not my taste). Plus I wouldn't feel safe walking around with a £700 piece of jewellery.....which I would prob never wear anyway with a newborn
would it be so wrong to buy something with it and then try and sell it on and get cash for it (which I can then put towards a new car)?
I was thinking something like this which is worth £1000 and in the sale for £699

Is it a bit cheeky to do this?
Should I save the voucher for when I do want some jewellery (I currently wear stud earrings and a watch - not big jewellery fan)
Would I get anything near the price I paid for it if I try and sell it on?
thoughts welcome...
Could you not sell the voucher on ebay? I'd also pop in the shop and asked if you bought something with the voucher and returned it what they would give you backAKA: PC

Okay ladies I need some help. So on the product page for travel system it shows woman clipping baby in whilst baby in carseat bit. So I assume it's okay. But then on other places people have been saying it's not parent facing so can you not put baby in like that? I thought that was the point of the carseat bit clipping in?
http://www.petitestar.com/Product.aspx?view=info&prodid=5
I feel a little silly asking as it's probably an obvious answer but I honestly am a little perplexed.
i've just purchased an almost identical one from petite star and the seat is parent facing. i would say it's the only logical way a car seat would go in really

I think it's ok for short periods of time but it's not recommended for longer spells for a newborn as they should be in a lie flat position.
There are some pushchairs about that are similar to the one you linked to but you can face the baby towards or away from you in the lie flat position without the car seat.0 -
Wow - thanks for all the tips ladies.
I never thought about actually putting some thought into what would sell well.......I just picked something I liked. Christening stuff would make sense, as would lots of little things rather than relying on one big thing. I'll have a rummage round ebay now.
I'm fairly sure if I tried to return something I'd bought to the shop they'd offer me another credit voucher or something. I doubt I would get the cash for it from them.
Charlie - I was thinking of offering it to OH to buy me an engagement ring but not sure that is the most romantic way for him to go about it0 -

Im assuming you dont have to spend all £700 in one go - what I would do is keep it for christmas, brithday, wedding gifts
We got that 105 from oh's work in hmv vouchers so it can be used toward bday and xmas gifts this year as that helps us out more.
be warned though i recently discovered that if you dont use a gift card/voucher in 24 consecutive months they wipe the balance and give it to charity - thanks to mothercare for doing that to me :mad:I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
