Wish I could Dusty lol! Am awaiting a settlement myself at the moment due to an RTA over three years ago now which seems to be going on forever! I'm kinda hoping it'll come around April time to enable me to have a nest egg to fall on. I'm looking at a Court Hearing at the moment though which is making me feel a bit  Lol. Cast Iron case though with them admitting liability in writing to someone else so only a matter of time! Always nice to get a small 'windfall' though!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110

Three years Charlie - wow!
Glad to hear that it is all done and dusted (save the shouting) though - you don't need to be fighting something like then while PG, and a little nest egg would be lovely....:)0 -
Charlie - I got my RTA settlement back in Novemeber, but I contacted my lawyer with an amount to settle. Could have probs got about double, but I settled at 4k so I didnt have to go through the courts etc. Worth a try if your not so bothered about what you get. Yeah it's been a long time coming lol. I have 4 defendants! Was 5 but it's been reduced. I've got a lot of patience lol and they are wearing it thin so i've decided to go all out. I've waited three years now! I'm going all the way cos of the underhanded tactics they have employed!sharkeybabe wrote: »Charlie - I got my RTA settlement back in Novemeber, but I contacted my lawyer with an amount to settle. As per above hun I actually wasn't bothered this time last year. They could have probably got rid of me for 4k quite happily and i'd have disappeared quite happily with that!
Now though... they have put me through so many hoops medically wise that i'm out for blood! Theoretically speaking I could get 17k for loss of earnings. Like I say, it's all theoretical. I'll go with the advice of my solicitor but until we see some offers come in (won't be long now!) then it's difficult to tell how it will all proceed.
I have worked for Insurance Solicitors in the past though so I know how it all works and how the tactics they use play out. They kinda lucked out in the fact that I know how they operate and I have a more balls than a lot of men I know!
Bring it on I say! They had their chance and blew it. Now I want max compensation and won't stop until my solicitor has advised it's the highest i'll get.
It is kinda funny watching them squirm though and seeing what they will come up with next. They are all out now though. Hearing will be set soon and i'm coming down the final lane!
What is shocking is that the Court costs (should they allow it to get that far) will be more than my claim is worth. I'd be surprised if they allowed it to get that far!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
I have realised that one night of good sleep is then followed by three nights of cr4ppy sleep lol
Hmm I know that one, I'm prepared for lack of sleep tonight!DueMarch11 wrote: »Ive just eaten 3 packets of monster munch in a row..............not sure thats very healthy lol
I like your style!:D What flavours?
Well got a grey grobag/sleepbag from Matalan as first proper thing for baby, neutral colour and practical colour a my mum would say. Also got a lovely floral smallish weekend bag which will be my hospital bag. Its big enough for all the essentials. "Another bag?" exclaimed OH, had to explain that I need a bag packed and ready nearer the time and wasn't taking our usual huge holdall!
Hugs to those feeling sad, down or generally fed up. Think I said before I've not really enjoyed this pregnancy and feel guilty for that. I just want my next scan and the ok from that then I think I will really relax and put my heart into enjoying the rest of the pregnancy.....and sorting the house out once and for all!!:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0 -
