Just realised Im at number 30 on the list (excluding boldies)

Also Im v jealous of all the queue jumpers!! - Im hoping this one is early this time - Im far too impatient!!
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

    I'm 31 weeks today :j:j

In other words I have 9 weeks to go (the fact that my countdown is now in single figures makes me feel a little bit sick :o)

had a short chat re: birth this morning with OH. I said how it frustrates me that whenever I bring it up he talks about what he is or isn't comfortable with happening and I can never get to discuss my fears, what pain relief I want etc.
He looked genuinely suprised and thought that I just wasn't talking about it cos I was too scared of it so he didn't want to push it - men eh!

Anyway, he then asked me what I do want to happen and what pain relief I want and I was stumped, I said I actually do not have a bl00dy clue and we can discuss it more after our ante natal classes when I am more informed - typical!

Bubs is very active this morning, lots of hard points on my tummy where I guess little feet and hands are lodged :D

Congrats on 31 weeks I was 31 yesterday!! :j:j your right it seems to be the home straight now!

I hate to be the one to go against the grain with the debate but im lucky that I found out I had fertility problems when I was really young but the Dr told me im in the minority because so many women leave it too late and then they find out they mightve been able to do something had they tried when they were younger. Obviously I know not everyone is in the right position to try when they are in their 20's but alot of people assume its going to happen for them and put off untill they have thousands in the bank , nice big house , big car etc.:o Okay thats me said my bit , on baby things why did I need to pick a changing bag that I like thats £56  Dont know if I can justify it.Its the skip hop , messenger lime green one , it would look fab with my black buzz pram
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

  • Morning everyone. Congrats to all the new arrivals - lovely names.

Well im sorry going to bring the thread down. I am so sick of being pregnant!! I am soooo tired and hardly slept a wink last night, I am feeling really weepy and even the simplest of things are exhausting me. I just want to be back to normal again, I know having a baby is going to be stressfull but I just want all this waiting to be over with. I am in constant pain down below and seem to be getting more fluid down there than normal (sorry TMI) and now Ive realised that my b 00 bs are leaking. Mr Sharkey is trying to be supportive but his constant laughing at me trying to walk/waddle is wearing thin now. I am sorry to be so depressed but I dont feel like I have anyone else to talk to as all DH seems interested in is DTD. I called the MW and all she said was I was to relax, im sick of relaxing.

    Thanks for reading, sorry again.

:grouphug: Poor Sharkey, we all get days/weeks like that, especially near the end. We are nearly there now, it won't be long before you get to meet your beautiful baby, and then all this will seem so irrelevant and long ago.

Is there anything you can do today that you would really like to do? Even get Mr S to take you for a cuppa in a cafe or something? xx

Hugs sharkey. Theres nothing worse than your partner thinking its funny. I was giving OH a row last night and he laughed and said " sorry , but I just cant take you serious with that bump , it looks so odd on you ":mad:

  • Thanks all. Well Mr S is at the dentist at the moment, so I am not sure what we will be doing this afternoon, but Ill maybe suggest going out for a little while. We are going out for dinner tonight with my dad and stepmum, so maybe that will cheer me up a wee bit. :)

I don't think you are going against the grain Lablover - I'm wasn't suggesting that the advice for women to concieve between the ages of 25 and 35 is not the best advice - I think it is - and I do agree with you to a certain extent re the people that put off starting a family for career/financial reasons (I know one such couple who did exactly that and had their first child last year at age 38)

But not all women are in a position relationshipwise to have a child while in the 'perfect' age group - it's those women that I feel for - I know they feel enough pressure as it is - they hear their body clock ticking - they are not choosing on purpose to delay starting a family - but hey that's how it is for us ladies.

Me personally fertility wise - I concieved first cycle with this baby (I'm 38 now but was 37 when bean was concieved) - I also concieved first cycle with my first pregnancy when I was 28 which I subsequently miscarried - I was pregnant 5 weeks later with DS so I have always been lucky on the fertility front pretty much regardless of age.
However I've had 2 miscarriages while in the 'perfect' age range.
I think regardless of age there are always risks and I think every pregnant woman is aware of them however old they are - we don't need it ramming down our throats and being told what to do! (if that's the right phrase?!)

    Anyhow

Re changing bags - I do like the ones that look like handbags but am wondering what OH would look like carrying them!?:D
Was thinking of trying to get some sort of unisex/rucksack type bag but would like a nice quality one if anyone has any suggestions

Or perhaps I could get 2? - one each ;)
