Aww Hngrymummy that sounds rotten sending :grouphug: Hope it clears up and hope the docs have some helpful advice.

Hope you got some sleep after you posted Apricot.

Congratulations Claire :D Not heard that name before but like it :)

Nic: "...remembered what was said the other day about keeping my legs shut, and that seemed to help...." :rotfl::rotfl: If we'd remembered that in the first place none of us would be in this mess :rotfl::rotfl:

Coops, liking the pink and blue jobs, we have similar. I like to tell OH that I need him for changing the light bulbs and getting things off high shelves :rotfl:but I can count the number of times I've taken the bins out on one hand :o Bless him he is pretty good most of the time :happyhear
  • Morning all

Congrats to lwcus and oxoclaire on your new arrivals :j

hngrymummy - sorry to hear your in all manner this morning - get straight on phone to doc when it opens (and stay away from Goggle in the meantime!)

Charlie1978 - glad you are ok now - hope you get a good days rest :)

Well I was in a good mood this morning till I turned on breakfast tv and saw the report about medicals warning older mums (those of us dinosaurs over 35) not to delay having children for career reasons - I think we all know the medical facts - just put me on a downer hearing I was much more likely to have a miscarriage or stillbirth :(
Not everyone delays having children for career reasons - my colleague at work was saying this morning she would love to start a family she just hasn't met the right chap yet - bless her

Oh well - can feel baby moving about so that reassures me :)

    Morning all.

Congrats claire and ((hugs)) to hungrymummy hope you feeling a bit better.

Well I slept and boy did I sleep!!! Not even a toilet break in sight to say I was bursting this morning would be the understatement of the year lol.

I managed to sleep until 8.30am!! ds was awake but just playing in his room bless him. I was coming round every now and then and I could hear him so I knew he was ok. We have a stairgate to block off all rooms and stairs barr his and ours so he can happily travel between the two in mornings.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

  • Just spoke to the Dr, who said that it's best to call, which reassured me.

He said to keep sipping water, and if the sickness carries on I can try one of my MS tablets. But if I'm getting rid of more than I'm drinking I need to call the delivery suite as dehydration can be a problem for baby. I know I'm dehydrated, so I've got to keep going with the water and ice, even though I do feel queasy. He said I could go in and get checked over if needed, but I think it's best for me not to be more than 10 seconds from a toilet :D

I'll be on and off here for the day I think, and I'll try and update if things get worse and I have to go in to hospital. Otherwise I'll be snoozing, driking and sitting on the loo! :o

Congratulations oxclairxo - lovely name :j
Ema - love the comment about legs crossed :rotfl::rotfl:

Hngrymummy - Hope you get some advice from the Doc, if you can't get in could you call mw??

RBG - Hope you have a lovely day!

I've heard all the 'medical advice' about having children over 35.... it really riles me, we had DS at 27 ( we got married at 25 and I think we got married young) I was pregnant for our first wedding anniversary and everyone said we shouldn't rush it..... We tried again when DS was 6 months old and we went on to have several miscarriages, which put a massive strain on our relationship (we ended up separating twice) luckily we still talked and managed to get back together, much to DS's relief and then we found out I was expecting again and we both panicked 'what if anything went wrong again and we split?' so none of us were happy when we found out (to the extent that OH didn't speak to me for a week!) every scan was a nightmare etc..... Luckily now at 38 weeks so its worked out for us and we're all reallt excited, however whoever gives 'medical advice' can stick it up his bum  i'm 37 and its the least of my worries..... Hopefully if everything goes ok with the birth, I might drop straight back on again!!! See what 'medical advice' thinks to that :mad::mad: it really winds me up.....

Anyway :p on another note, OH left me in bed this morning as i've had a bad night with lower back ache, its still aching now but not so bad while I move about.....

Need to go and see my mum, as my brother text last night and said him and his wife we're separating (my brother is mummy's golden boy) so i'll go see if she is ok. No doubt it will be my SIL's fault, cos obviously my bro is practically perfect in everyway  personally he's a tit (although I love him loads :rotfl:)

just waiting for my TENS machine then bubs can make an entrance :T

Hope we all have a good day today :j

    Congratulations Claire - Fab name!

I ended up going into the living room and watching House on DVD last night - I think I managed 4 episodes before dropping off and then I woke up on the sofa with a bad ear (the grain in the sofa irritated it!)
Typically though, when it was time to get up for work I was having the best sleep ever! Am now in work with zero motivation but at least it's Friday!

hello hngrymummy - when I had food poisioning I had same advice but my midwife also said if I wasnt eating and feeling flakey then I could try some flat lemonade (I hate lemonade - well any fizzy drinks so I didnt as I knew it would make me worse lol) but if you can you could try that - she said dont replace water with it just a sip here and there for the energy .hth - also when your ready to eat she suggested dry toast or rich tea biscuits

    I'm 31 weeks today :j:j

In other words I have 9 weeks to go (the fact that my countdown is now in single figures makes me feel a little bit sick :o)

had a short chat re: birth this morning with OH. I said how it frustrates me that whenever I bring it up he talks about what he is or isn't comfortable with happening and I can never get to discuss my fears, what pain relief I want etc.
He looked genuinely suprised and thought that I just wasn't talking about it cos I was too scared of it so he didn't want to push it - men eh!

Anyway, he then asked me what I do want to happen and what pain relief I want and I was stumped, I said I actually do not have a bl00dy clue and we can discuss it more after our ante natal classes when I am more informed - typical!

Bubs is very active this morning, lots of hard points on my tummy where I guess little feet and hands are lodged :D
