Have you spoke to your midwife about this? Because of all "lady" problems half my appointments are at the hospital with the fertility clinic and the rest are with midwife at GP surgery and on the hospital appointment cards it always has printed " Transport for patient arranged/not arranged" and they score out relevant part.Is there no way you could get something organised through hospital. At my hospital local people volunteer through the red cross and take people to appointments.

I'm planning on mentioning it to midwife tomorrow. I know it seems hard to believe that I don't know ANYONE but I moved here in the summer and since then have basically spent all the time sitting at home and trying to beat depression. So haven't met anyone. Trying to get volunteering positions but they haven't replied :(
Will there be anyone with you while your in labour and give birth Pixiepops? - will your OH be able to get there?
I would think with a first pregnancy you should have plenty of warning of onset of labour but can see why your worried :(

I didn't drive when I had my first and my ex hb worked an hour and a half drive from me but it wasn't a prob due to c section - you just go in at prearranged time so it is all planned so to speak.

OH is going to try and get here (3-4 hour train journey) but he can't drive either. Oh dear.

Which region are you in Pixie?

Def speak to the midwife - is there any way any of your family could stay with you around your due date?

morning Dusty hun how are you today???

I'm doing ok thanks for asking. Although extremely tired today, even though I had a full 9 hours sleep, I never seem to get enough.
Sorry to hear your CT is playing up, mine is getting worse and the gel the doc gave me does nothing! It is so painful too isn't it?

On a good note, the post just came and I've finally made it through the waiting list for cognitive behavioural therapy! Have an appointment with a psychotherapist on Tuesday. I'm so happy I could literally cry. Especially as a few days ago I started thinking the 'dark thoughts' again, as I like to call them and I feel like mood meter is dipping dangerously low. Also I can get over OCD, paranoia and my irrational phobias and perhaps I can FINALLY get a definitive answer as to whether I am bipolar like my mother or not. (hoping for not) *happy sigh*

To be honest LabLover - leggings are not such a bad idea cos they will hold and secure the huge massive pads :D- from experience the more secure you feel in that department the better.

I really hadn't thought about what I'll be wearing out of hospital - I have to stay in 2-3 days so will prob wear whatever feels most comfortable on my section wound - maybe high waist trackies?

While in hospital I will be sporting my PJ's and dressing gown along with flip flops (not wearing slippers as they end up black from the hospital floor!)

I was thinking about this too this morning. I think I'm going to get a couple of pairs of dark coloures primark jogging bottoms for the trip home and first couple of weeks at home. I normally live in my PJs when at home but as we'll be having lots of visitors I figured I should at least look like I've got dressed. :D

Lots of joggers and nursing/vest tops hopefully for the first few weeks. I have some cute little plimsolls that I'll shove in my bag for coming home but it'll be slippers at home :p

Eastbourne. On the plus side, it'll be summer so if it's warm and I'm not in too much pain, I don't mind walking there. Might just steal someone's mobility scooter (I live in a flat full of elderly people) :rotfl:

Oooh, in other exciting news, me and OH are going shopping for a grown up car on saturday :)

    Any recommendations?

My (beloved) Corsa is some fancy sports model and the guy at the Vauxhall garage who I spoke to last night said I should be able to get a good price for it cos it is in demand (save the huge dent on the side - oops!)

We were thinking about an Astra but I kinda love the Rav4's. (I think they look like barbie jeeps :))

OH doesn't drive so is just going on what looks good but I'm trying to be sensible. Plus I have NO money at all to contribute so either will just swap outright or OH will contribute which he seems willing to do :)

I'm in West Sussex so your not a million miles from me - not too happy about you being on your tod when labour starts - I would drive and pick you up but think I'll be incapacitated by then.

I have visited Eastbourne and yes there did seem to be a big elderly population ;)
