ecoelle - If it's like mine was then your midwife will just go through family history and she'll ask questions about lifestyle (smoking, drinking, exercise, diet etc). She'll weigh you and test your urine and then she'll send you to do bloods after. She might also talk briefly about breast-feeding. I think it might be different with different midwives as RBG says hers was without her partner but my partner was present when the midwife asked all the questions. Oh and she'll probably tell you about the combined screening test and get you to sign a permission sheet for it if you want it. She'll also ask if you want hepatitis and HIV screening in your bloods. And she may give you a bounty pack and an NHS pregnancy book.A-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Ooh I was moaning a while ago about the bumgenius nappy offer (the one that cost £3.95), well the cheque has finally gone out of my account, so I should get the nappy soon :j ExcitingBaby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Had a rubbish nights sleep again and it was once again down to my chocolate lab , so gorgeous but so annoying ,lol. So uncomfy during the day at work , have a tiny bump that stops just in belly button but the bit between belly button and boobs is flabby and sits like a wedge all day getting squashed by bump and my boobs.Got a meeting 2moro aswell , cant be bothered its 2 hours away and means I need to get up an hour earlier, it starts at ten then should run for an hour and 45 and they arent giving us any lunch  And also Im too uncomfy in my work uniform and too small for maternity clothes but have been told to wear "business wear" So god only knows what I can conjure up at such short notice. Was thinking I could wear my black maternity trousers and Im sure I have a black chiffony style shirt thing....oh the joys.Rant over , good luck Sarah ! And labour vibes to those that need themThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Think it's up to you whether you bring your partner or not - as long as you can answer the standard questions on her partners behalf such as name, any relevant medical history etc...
I didn't bother myself - hope all goes well ecoelle0 -

I hate lunchtime meetings! - I am starting to refuse any that are booked over lunchtime nowdays!
Re the maternity clothes - I have a fairly sizeable bump already and have started to get a few more bits in for work0 -

My hubby wasn't at mine ecolle either. They ask all medical history of both parents. So as long as you know about any people in his family with the medical problems it will be fine.Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110

Come to think of it, I think at the beginning she did say that I'd be asked personal questions and whether I was happy for my partner to stay in the room. I can't remember much... it was early morningA-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

i think its really unfair that I need to travel for 2 hours to get there , sit for an hour and 45 , then have to travel 2 hours home without being fed. Spoke to my manager who is going to get us some petty cash so we can buy lunch on the way up the road. They will probs stretch to a fiver for a sandwhich and share a bottle of water with collegueThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

I guess my company will cover meals expenses if we are travelling to and from meetings.
I find that people tend to book meetings over the lunchtime period so that other's calendars will be free so I end up trying to stuff food before lunch or end up starving and feeling sick in the meeting.
I'm just declining any that are booked between 12 and 2 now0
