I'm not surprised either Coops :( even if he doesn't miss the birth you don't want him jotting off when baby is only a few days old.

Peaked too early tonight, went to bed at 9 and now wide awake.

    Thanks Ladies,
The funny thing is that I am feeling pretty calm about the whole concept of going through labour as I know I will meet my little bundle at the end of it. Just don't want to have to do it alone.
I will see what he has to say tomorrow night when I get up.

Iwcus78 - sorry to hear your back is giving you jip. Not fun. I do have visions of you sitting there bouncing on your ball just now like Tigger!!!! Sorry, just my mind wandering me thinks!!:rotfl:

you could well be contracting - with DD2 I was not aware I was in labour for ages because it was all back pain I had - when I was checked out I was a few cm dilated! keep bouncing - and good luck!

I have been awake since 4am :( DD2 came through 10 mins ago determined that she was not tired - and so is sitting here with me :( - think I am in for a crappy day!

Off to hospital this pm for my pre op bloods and stuff - not sure what to expect - it is all getting a bit real - and am scared of the section! DH not being much help right now as his anxiety attack is still very much ongoing :(:( - sometimes feel like I want to punch his lights out  and I know he really can't help it.

Sorry all doom and gloom again!

    Awh 2girls, (((hugs)))
Heres hoping the day improved. Just think, you will be holding your new baby next week!!! Not long now hun.

Well, my night didn't improve. I now appear to have a lovely cold sore appearing on my lip in the usual spot. Does anyone know if I can take anything for it?????? I'll put some vaseline on before I head to the land of nod but it would be good to be able to try and get it cleared up...

I also have another weird thing going on!!! The base of my spine is really itchy. Just where my tail bone is. Anyone else had this? Been ongoing for a few days now and it's a pain when I am sitting in the car which is currently accounting for about an hour and a half a day!!! grrrr.

Right, well, off to tidy up the desk and put my stuff away and go home!!!!!!!

Hugs coops, I would have been in floods of tears too, especially with pg hormones. Really not fair of his work to expect him to go away at the time when you'll need him most, I would echo the suggestion that he thinks about saying no.

Cold sores, I had one and used Zovirax without thinking about it. When I realised I should have checked it was okay, it says to check with your doc before using. Checked with midwife and she said it's fine just use as little as you can get away with.
You might have difficulty buying it if you're obviously pg tho (worse than buying alcohol underage ;) )

Hugs to everyone who needs them, I know a few of you had cr a ppy days so hope today is an improvement :). Roll on the weekend :D

Just a quick hello before I get ready for the W word :(

Have to apologise for my absence and lack of keeping up at the moment. Am unable to get on during the day at work for one reason and another and in the evening I've been so busy with lots of jobs that have needed doing.

I hope you are all keeping well. Sending appropriate vibes to those that need them :) will try and read back this evening when I have more time!

    Happy Friday everyone :D

Good Morning Everyone!!! 2 more sleeps til Mr Sharkey is home - getting very excited now!!! I had a reletavely good sleep last night was sleeping for around 9pm and woke up at 6.30am - so all in all very good.
I need to get some sheets and blankets for bubs moses basket and cot. Im gonna have a wee look today and see what I can get, trying to get myself organised as DH's clothes etc have been shoved into a cupboard and really need to get ironed and hung up in the wardrobe.lol. Instead of having 2 weeks to prepare myself for him coming home now just have 2 days!!!
Ive got a lot of moisture down there this morning (sorry TMI) more than I usually get so I am wondering if this is the start of something - hope not still have to much to do.lol. I am never happy me.

Quick question about moses basket and cot beds. I have both and was just wondering what should I put on them sheets etc. My moses basket has a fitted sheet on and then just the wee cover that I got with the bed - is there anything else that I should put in it to keep bubs warm?
The cot I am totally confused with - does it need a fitted sheet another sheet to wrap bubs up in and then the duvet style thing that I bought in a bedding bundle? Dont want bubs to be cold and I dont want to have to run out any buy stuff in the middle of the night if Im not prepared if that makes sense.

Sorry for all those peeps feeling down and weepy, I had a weepy moment yesterday when I was looking through all the baby things in the nursery and realised that within 6 weeks there will be a baby in the house - wierd moment for me as I havent really had any emotional moments.

Hope everyone is ok this morning. xxx

I am 16 weeks on Monday and I have not heard from my midwife about an appointment that week, which Ive read you are supposed to have one that week. Im hoping she gets in touch soon, I dont want to have to chase for everything, it doesnt make me feel too confident with them!

Re the dog situation. I have 2 dogs, one is usually the naughty one who sometimes poops while we are out, the other is the angel dog. Well the angel dog has turned naughty all of a sudden and has been destroying a door so we have bought a kennel to have them outside when we go out rather than them be inside. We have no other choice, they have never been outside dogs so its all new to them (and cold!) so they whine/cry when outside. I can assure you that even though they cry/whine they are looked after well and are only going to be outside when we have to go out for a few hours and the overlap between me leaving for work and husband returning from work which is an hour. Im hoping it doesnt annoy as our neighbour works a lot. I just hope we dont have this trouble because I love the dogs like they are my babies, we just cant have them destory the house when its only rented. I wouldnt like to think someone phoned RSPCA on me when my dogs are cared for :(

See thats why I dont want to ring RSPCA - The dog is lovely and is well looked after - you can tell its clean and fed but it is a naughty dog (ie i watch it drag her washing off the line on a regular basis :rotfl:) so I imagine they cannot leave it in the house, As it does have a kennel (a small one though imho) I would imagine the rspca wouldnt do anything and I dont want my neighbour to think I think she doesnt look after the dog. It whinges more when It hears me in the kitchen as I imagine it thinks its owners are home :(

Hope everyone slept ok - I did Im so happy I went at 11 and out like a light till ds1 decided playtime should start at 7 couldve done with one more hour but im counting my blessings

Gonna try and call into midwives this morning see if I can get this bloomin blood test.

    x

  • Morning lady bumps.......and big hugs to all the insomniacs.....I feel a little guilty reporting that I had a good night and was only up once for a toilet break. I think it may have been down to the fact that my dad has had some good news as to part of his help and is still in remission from his bladder cancer (he has had it now for 18 years) also he is looking so much healthier than I have seen in a while and they have determined his breathlessness is down to a raving heart and not the COPD :)

Coops hunni you have every right to feel upset at that kind of news and I agree witht he other girls about the boss.....I take it the boss is a man and has no clue whatsoever coz if it was a female whether she had had kids or not I think she would take into account the fact you were so close to your EDD.

My hubby is starting to panic about money for the first month after bubs arrives as he knows that because the chief exec of the company he works for will be well aware he is off on paternity leave and will ensure that he is only paid the PL pay (there are 3 others in the same situation and 2 have been paid normal pay but there is one other guy who's wife is due just after me and he reckons as he is under the radar from the CEO he'll get proper pay...he's a bit annoyed as he has been with the company since he left school). I have tried to assure him that there is enough money put by and that we will cope

Sharkey I am getting excited for you but I do hope that baby Sharkey now hangs on for at least a week to give you and hubby some me time :)

Fairy we will see you when everything calms down for you...I couldn't get on in work very much either so I know where you are coming from xxx

I think that is all for now lol......labour vibes to those in need of them and huge hugs all round xxxx
