I will write a birth story when I have a moment..maybe this evening. It was all a bit long and arduous though, so feel free not to read it till after your baby is born!
You just get through it though. Even at moments where you think you can't, you do. Your body is an AMAZING piece of machinery. I think men get an all new respect for their wives and partners after having witnessed them giving birth!
We rock basically! :beer::D
I LOVE reading Birth Stories! Look forward to reading yours
Still have to watch OBEM from last night.
Ok, so I might have accidentally ordered the moses basket - ooops0 -

I would agree with all of this! Even though my body couldn't do what it needed to - I dread to think what would have happened had we been snowed in....My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Lilian, Sam is beautiful :T glad you are feeling happier with feeding. I struggled as long as I could to bf but i was too exhausted and began to resent feeding times. The HV was more than supportive when I changed to FF. Im glad I gave them something but in the end they were happier and more content as was I.
Good luck today Due March, im sure youll pass.
Happy Birthday EA :bdaycake:
Im just back from the MW. it was my 24 weeks appointment ( im 26 weeks on Thursday though).
I havent seen this MW before and as soon as I walked in she asked me how I was, and started asking about my past and depression. Maybe she could see that Ive been struggling but I dont think I was depressed as such. Just a lot going on.
Anyway she is concerned that it may get worse and develope into more so she offered to refer me to a clinic for some councelling.
Everything is fine. Bump is measureing 26 and the heart beat was fine. She says im an ideal candidate for a home birth. She says we have plenty of time to discuss it but if I want to have one and everything stays ok then ill be having this one in my living room.
Right, im off to post all the things I sold on ebay last week (made £55 :j):santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Thanks for all the messages following my 20 week scan. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off me, so much more relaxed today & really looking forward to meeting my little boy. DS is loving the fact he's getting a baby brother
I've bought a few of the huggies starter packs from ASD# this morning. The first was free so I cut out the £2 voucher inside & bought another one which thanks to the voucher cost just £1. So I did the same again & again & again LOL I did take scissors with me & now have plenty of newborn nappies & wipes all for £4! I'm sure the security guard was wondering why I was back & forth a few times LOL
They had very little in considering the baby event is on so that was all I could get. I'm undecided about getting a microwave or electric steriliser. I plan on using Tommee Tip bottles as we used those once I stopped BF DS & they were fab.0 -
BBM I thought the baby event was quite rubbish too. I remember going last year with my sister and she picked up quite a few things but I wasn't too fussed on anything tbh! I've got 3 of the newborn packs so far and another two vouchers so will go back tonight for some more.
I know it's all relative but approximately how many nappies in each size will I need? I don't want to end up with hundreds of size 1's that I can't use.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Not sure how many you will need but it says in my book that you can go through 6 nappies a day , so I will probs use 8 in the first few days , so maybe do a rough calculation? Going to the baby event after work.Only taking £20 , if I had more money in my purse I would probably buy stuff i dont need :money:Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

It really is impossible to say. DS was 7lb 14oz so he was in newborn nappies for a while, he was also long & skinny so that made a difference as he needed the smaller nappies. My sisters baby as almost 10lb with a chubby tummy so was hardly in them at all. I have 5 of the newborn starter packs & might get 1 or two more if I can buy them for £1 each. DS got through loads of nappies in the early days as he pooped for England (was BF). If it wasn't for the vouchers I'd just get Tesc0 own as they are changed so often IMO it's not worth getting branded ones for the first few months.0 -
Lablover Have you printed off the voucher from Asda baby club for the free starter kit?
The Tommee tippee bottles and steralizer were reduced but I haven't decided which bottles to use yet - my sis used the TT one's but they are so wide I found them a bit of a PITA. Also, I think they have the event every few months anyway so doesn't seem much point in hoarding loads of things now unless they are a really good deal!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Yup , got my voucher but when I went in the other night the shelf was empty again.Either there are alot of pregnant ladies in my town or they were keeping them back for the baby event , so will hopefully get one tonight. Yeah your right , they will have a baby event nearer the time.I dont want to get too much of anything yet because there is baby equipment sale in my town in a few weeks , so may pick up a few things there. Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
