Don't forget OBEM tonight :j:j I can't wait, but I'll have to watch Ch4+1 as I'm out. There is just too much TV on Mondays (silent witness, OBEM, Glee and Hells Kitchen).
.
Monday night tele is sooooo good, don't forget America's Next Top Model. What is so infuriating though is I always have the worse nights sleep on a sunday - cos OH is in bed with me (he normally works nights but is home sat and sun nite but sleeps in the spare bed sat nite cos he likes to stay up late).
So I always have to go to bed about 8pm on a monday cos I'm so tired and have to do some crafty sky plussing to make sure it's all recorded.
Bring on mat leave - 9 weeks to go :j0 -

Congrats MV :j:j
Giz - I had my nursing bra fitting at mothercare on Friday at 36 weeks. They said it was ok, but they prefer to do them 2 weeks before due date. If I keep the receipt I can take it back if it doesn't fit in a couple of weeks. I decided I wanted one for the hospital bag now, just in case....
Teenie - I feel your pain. My MS has not long gone, so there is still hope for you to have the final few weeks sick free. Still get the occasional nauseous day, and bad travel sickness. I'm not wanting to get your hopes up too much, as that was the worst bit for me - people telling me it would pass after 12/16/18/20 weeks and it just carrying on.
Was given some advice over the weekend about baby's first poo. Apparently it can be a nightmare to get off baby, so I was told that it would be a good idea to put some mild oil or sudocream on baby's bottom to make it non-stick so the poo will come off easier. Anyone else heard this?
Off to attempt the pile of housework I need to do......
Yes - first poo is black in colour and very sticky (think due to mecaniom content? sp?!)
To be honest I just used a sensitive baby wipe on DSso don't listen to me I'm a bad mummy!
With DD my sister changed her first nappy and I think she used a wipe too
From memory the recommended cotton wool and water doesn't shift it very well.0 -
hi everyone, hope you are all doing well, just a question i would like to ask - i am due 20th march and I have taken 3 weeks off work before this as holiday but getting to the stage of wondering if I should add on another 2 weeks before this so it will be 5 weeks before I am due, I am just wondering what everyone else has done in the past, would I feel 5 weeks drag or will I be grateful for the time off beforehand, I am really interested to hear what everyone has done. I don't feel ill or anything but starting to feel I can't be bothered with work! would really appreciate any replies, thanks.0

BBM good luck for scan, sorry you've had migraine, I know that weak feeling well.
Those thinking about moving. My mum moved once when pregnant with me at 6 months gone, but had to house hunt straight away as dad got the transfer he really wanted! Found out on day they moved lol. Anyway we moved when I was month old, think mum so traumatised that never moved again, been in same house 40 years this June!
Sickness and nausea, mine still lurks and just when you think its over it hits again. Its smells that set it off for me. I can't cook anything!:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0 -

Ha ha, that makes two of us then! I tried cotton wool and water for about 30 seconds and then got OH to hand me a wipe. Ive not even bothered putting them on the list to pack this time around, Im just taking wipes in and hiding them from the midwives lolSealed Pot Challenge Member 151

I shouldn't be too surprised I was sick right through with DD but 100 times worse. Not been as bad this time round so fed up that it's still with me!
I think DH got DD's meconium pooI must have been in the shower or something
We were in hospital when it happened and didn't have wipes so presume he got it off with cotton wool and water but tbh can't remember how difficult it was
Must ask him later......ahh see the romance in our relationship is still on fire :rotfl:

At my 12 week scan someone had told me to take money , but when I got there it was a donation box and you only got one pic. I put about £5 in and the receptionist said "oh thats fantastic, most people put 50p in " I dont even know what the money goes toward? Didnt tell my OH as I had wrestled the money out his pocket for it , lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

I had 5 weeks off when I was pregnant with DD but she was a week late so 6 weeks and I found the time dragged, but that's partly because I was in a bit of pain with SPD so couldn't walk or stand for long and partly cos I was a lazy moo and didn't attemp to do much:D
This time I was looking at finishing 2 weeks before EDD but am starting to rethink that, might take a weeks hols the week before so it gives me 3 weeks off, am going to see how I feel towards the end.
It depends as well if you are gong back to work and if you would rather go back earlier or not."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
thanks for that reply, i can't seem to make up my mind, i will be going back to work at 6 months and I know I still have 2 weeks holiday left to take, maybe it's because I see so much doing around the house as well I feel it will give me the time to get more done.0
