seperate accounts as he has a lot of debt to repay and I pay for things like my waxing and petrol.

I've been doubled over laughing at that, prob just me though I think I have a weird sense of humour. I was just trying to imagine how much hair you had that waxing got a specific mention when nothing else really did.;)

DD was eligible for the child trust fund and got £500 (an extra £250 as we had both been made redundant and were on a low income). The trust fund has now stopped so I have now realised that's £500 I've got to find to open one:mad:to keep them both the same, I told DH and he said yes yes we will, which means he will forget about it and never get round to it:mad: I told him if we put it off, he'll be 10 before we remember and it'll be too late. Well he can explain to him why his sister is getting a couple of thousand at 18 and he's not! he has been warned.

Is everyone else who has older kids that qualified opening one and matching the amount for the new bubs?

Yes me! so annoying ds1 has the 250 voucher and all the money i received for him when he was born (about another 50) plus I put a few tenners here and there in.

Cant afford it this time :S - didnt get HIP grant last time so if I dont need it Im going to keep that to put in.

Ooh that looks good annibee! My friend is popping over tonight with her maxi cosi car seat for us - she doesn't have a car so seat was only used a few times and is in perfect condition. I am lucky in that I've been offered so many things from people I don't think we will have to buy much at all :D

Printed off my voucher for the free huggies starter set so going to get that tomorrow as well!

I use either juice from real lemon or from a squeezy JIF lemon, with some honey and then hot water when I have a cold.

Sparkle My bump didn’t properly start appearing until about 22 weeks – I was carrying extra weight before I got my bfp though. I wouldn’t worry too much 13 weeks is still quite early.

Good luck Bargain Princess Hope you will soon be getting mummy cuddles :)

Hooray for 29 weeks Dusty I think that you and OH definitely need to sit down and work something out. OH and I sat and had that discussion last week and came to an agreement about how we would work out the joint finances (well at least while I am getting maternity pay) once my maternity pay ends we will have to have another chat about finances which is going to be the difficult one I think but am sure we will sort something out.

I am worrying about how I will cope having less personal income than I am use to having. I know I will find ways of managing but I also don’t like the idea of asking OH for money for stuff – I suppose this is the downside of being used to having financial responsibility and independence for yourself. It’s going to take some getting used to!

I think I am going to go for the Avent bottles, am hoping they will be included in the Asda baby event which starts on Monday but am pretty sure it is mostly the Tommee Tippee things that are reduced in that.

I am not sleeping too well at the moment either :( can’t seem to get comfy, am either to hot or too cold, OH is snoring or the cat is jumping on the bed. Have decamped to the spare room on a few occasions and I do seem to sleep better in there but I don’t like doing it really as I like to be next to OH.

I hope that everything is going well for MV and she has met her little boy now.

Its the only thing I pay for thats all lol I dont go out, smoke, drink, have excessive shopping habits or anything so the only money I have personally going out every month is for waxing.

Im honestly nt that hairy :o

I was reading reviews on the steriliser and they wernt very positive, apparently the lid warps in the heat as I was going to get this bundle. I have an avent steriliser and was hoping to get to the asda baby event to get these and grab some cheap nappies.

I know what you mean - with ds1 I was given and bought so much and coz of the age gap I have everything for newborn sorted that ds has finished with (cot, buggy, bouncer, car seat etc etc) /Just need a moses basket as I gave mine to a friend as ds1 was so big he was only in it for 1 week lol.

well all im off to dentist now :D speak later and hope lilian and mv are getting lovely mummy cuddles!

Lablover, I agree with Galvinisersbaby. I BF for the first few weeks with both mine, then switched to bottles. I used Avent bottles along with the microwave steriliser. I was never short with 6 bottles. The steriliser took 4at a time so I always had 2 ready. I think they tell you to just have to water ready in the bottles these days, buf I used to make the feeds up for the day and leave them in the fridge.
I plan to BF longer this time but I bought Tommee Tippee bottles and micro steriliser (I'd given mine all away). I fancied a change.

A wee tip on teats. Wee found the new born teats that came with the bottles were too slow. We had to rush out and buy number 1's the first time. I ended up buying the next size up in the baby events so I could change them when the baby got better at feeding. If they are the wrong size the baby gives up trying to get milk or it flows too fast. If you have a size either way you can experiment to get it right.

I also just used a kettle and a jug. You only need an inch or so of water to heat a bottle. I had a flask that I could fill to take out with me.

Yeh its the same as anything else - good reviews and bad reviews - if something were to happen Im covered under the consumer act if it is faulty goods and therefore will get my money back so im not too concerned. Didnt use a steraliser last time breastfed for 9 months then used the ol boiling water trick. but this time saw that and knew the price was good for everything you do get so went for it

Make sure you take your newborn kit voucher to get the free box of nappies/wipes :D.

You might want to check that the TT bottles fit in the Avent steriliser as I am pretty sure I read somewhere that they don't.
