Did you deliver your placenta in the pool? Or did you get out and have the injection? I'm still undecided about what to do and at the moment am going to wait and see what I want to do when the time comes. In the waterbirthing video we watched at the waterbirth class the lady delivered the placenta in the pool.
I got out to deliver the placenta, mainly because at the time I didn't realise I had a choice! I would think twice about being rushed out if I got the chance to do it again...

My Mum's husband is a mechanic and he's supposed to be on the look out for a car for us... My Mum told me tonight they were eyeing up a Ford Ka... I'm pretty sure we'd struggle fitting 3 children in the back of one of those...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Yes you would especially with just 2 doors :o although they are cheap to run.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

@RBG - aw sorry you were up again :(

I had a serious vomiting session last night. Have no idea where that came from. Had terrible heartburn and possibly the closest thing I've had to BHs - but not sure if they were BHs or just tummy cramps. Got up to go to the loo and just threw up what felt like my whole days worth of food. :( Sorry for TMI.

Slept sat up in bed for the rest of the night but took ages to get to sleep due to the BH/cramp things.

Decided to get up early. Got to try and replenish my fluids today now. Probably will stick to toast and take it easy.

Oh one thing funny I forgot to mention - now that I'm term...every twinge, moan, 'ouch' noise I make and OH is panicking thinking I'm in labour! Got to try and keep my ouches to myself from now on.

As Giz said, no need to panic buy at supermarket's baby events they seem to hold them every two or three months or so.

My yoga teacher was ranting tonight about how wrong the practices are at the hospital in OBEM.

Off to bed now, feeling really tired, hope that translates into a decent night's sleep. If not, I might log on for a 4am chat.
Ooh what did she say? There are somethings I don't like that they do at the hospital on OBEM. The main one being the large number of internals they seem to do (although it could just be because they don't show normal uneventful labours).

  • Morning Ladies. I also slept straight through :) still feel tired, but a lot better than I have in previous days.
Cant remember who was saying about their family buying things - I have felt that DH and I have been unable to buy anything for bubs as between my dad and his GF and his mum and the rest of his family (he has 3 sisters) my spare room is turnig into a baby shop. The only things we have bought is our nursery furniture and a couple of baby gros.lol. Everything does add up though so it does help to have family helping, but I do feel a wee bit embarrassed that they are helping us out so much!!!

Don't feel bad letting family buy stuff. Grannies especially like to do their bit, more if it's their first. You'll have plenty to buy through the childs life.
With DD my mum bought the pram and mil bought our cotbed, both have been used for DS too and are about to get used again, so great value for money.
I only ever buy basic baby clothes and one going home outfit as I know grannies and aunties can't resist buying the cute (often unpractical) wee outfits. One thing I hate and that's when a baby doesn't get a chance to wear stuff and it still has tags on, I feel terrible.

Now with our 3rd we really don't need anything apart from bibs and a bouncy chair. If my mum asks what to buy I'll ask if she can wait until I need a highchair and buy that.

Re internals, I was only given one when going in with DS but with DD I got 2 as I was 4cm the first time then another to check I was fully dilated. They can usually tell how progressing without checking all the time.
That's a good reason to stay at home as long as possible, less interference.

    Mornings :)

Good nights sleep for me too :D Sorry to hear you were up again RBG, hope you managed to get back to sleep :)

Sarah, thinking of you, hope bubs is okay. At least they are keeping a close eye on you. xx

Thanks for all the input re water births. I am very keen on having one, I've always loved being in the water and think that the sensation combined with the water supporting me would really help me out.
My hospital only has 1 pool, the birthing centre that I would prefer has a few, but OH is quite against the birthing centre due to distance between there and the hospital if anything went wrong. Still trying to persuade him, at least I know if in the hospital he'll just have to keep pestering :o

Lillian - is that baby out yet??? We want pics :) hope all went well and update us when you get a chance :)

Giz hope you're feeling a bit better now xx I would find that very funny with OH thinking everything means you're going into labour. Mine would prob stop believing me by the time it actually happened :rotfl:

Fanta - yeah I'm with you, can't imagine bubs not knowing right from wrong by 2 let alone 4. I'm expecting my child to be quite naughty if he's anything like me or OH tho :eek: not going to start worrying about that just yet tho :)

Lablover, hope the bruises are healing, be careful of yourself now (I expect you are being).

MV, have you sneaked off to have bubs (hope so) if not sending you massive labour vibes :)

Labour vibes to everyone who wants them, growing baby vibes to a few of you and welcomes to the newbies (I'm getting a bit lost about who's new, but definitely noticing I'm getting higher up the list :eek::eek:).

    Em xx
