Sammy - I have, but nothing seems to be happening on that front.
Just been to the loo again and more 'show'.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Ahhh LabLover - that sounds like my pooch! Mine's a Pointer (GSP) & Dally Cross and his nocturnal habits can be quite strange. He's a bit of a fidgeter and during the night will move around sleeping in his bed, on the sofa, on the stairs, on the bedroom floor, on the bed, and then his worst habit is swiping the side of the bed (either mine or DH's side depending who he wants to cuddle) and he won't move until we lift up the covers for him :rotfl:I think it is the Pointer in them - as Pointers are very affectionate and like cuddles
I know it's not a good habit but my DH works nights and my boy makes me feel safe
I wouldn't worry too much - as long as he's not lying on or too near near the bump.0 -
MV it definently sounds promising. Maybe a wee glass of fresh oj willget rid of the wind. Or help you poo.
With DS my waters didn't break until the pushing stage so it won't always happen. I also had period pains. But they started at 7 am ish and I didn't feel like I was having proper contractions until 5pm. I would try and find the comfiest position and try and relax. Maybe get last bits organised and keep your OH updated.
If they get worse then start timing them. Call the birth centre if your concerned or if your waters break. Everyone is different but I just wished I'd stayed at home longer with my first. They sent me back home as I was 4 cm it was a 30 min drive.
With DS I stayed at home as long as poss watching tv and bouncing on my ball. I was so much more relaxed. I went in and was 10cm!
Maybe you could invite one of the NCT ladies round to stay with you?
Sorry if none of that is any use, I just know how difficult judging what to do is. Just follow your body and you will know.
Thanks nic...all advice most gratefully received
Wish I had invested in a bouncing ball now. I never got round to it. I'll try and walk up and down the stairs a few times!
I think I'll see wait happens in the next few hours, and if I feel I am starting to get proper contractions, I'll call the birth centre.
OH is primed and on red alert!
Sorry to hog the thread this morning. I'll keep you all posted, unless of course things happen fast in which case I'll be back on when I can to update.
Good luck to lilian, twoflower, mit3 and the other ladies due imminently.Hope to have lots of baby news soon!

Like Nic says - just try and relax, and keep OH updated. Are your bags ready? Are you all organised to go? Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Hi MV, am on my phone as wrk haven't paid the stupid Internet bill so sorry if this is a bit garbled. Just wanted to say good luck as def sounds like you're on your way!! My waters didn't break, midwife had to do it for me when I was 5cm. My labour also started off with period pains, keep yourself moving around if you can, just around the house to keep things going. Mv, i think its all starting for you. My waters didn't break until my dd2 was coming out (it was like a swimming pool), but my contractions started feeling like period cramps.
Are the cramps constant or do you find that they are worse at any point? My labours were all pretty quick, so i'm not much help as i kinda knew when it was time.
Fingers crossed for you all the same, and if you're unsure of anything then phone the midwife xx:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

Thanks guys
jojo it is like a constant dull ache at the moment, although as it is mixed with this nasty bloated feeling, it's hard to know if the pains are coming on and off really.
Sammy - bags are ready. I just need to pack a few more clothes for me in case I need to be at my folks house for a couple of days. I shall do that after my shower.
March - I shall keep mobile..thanks for the tip
I'll let you know if anything else happens.
Gosh it's all really scary, but very exciting at the same time, thinking that by the weekend we may have our shiny new baby boy!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Ohhh MV, how exciting! What about a little walk? Good luck xx
SA-yeah, I know what you mean, although I was half expecting a IUGR bab this time again, its stil a shock when they actually tell you. Last time once the doppler reading got too high I was kept in hospital for monitoring and bed rest, having doppler every day and CTG 4x a day. My bab estimated weight was 5lb 10oz at 36+1 weeks but as you say its +/- nearly a lb.At this stage it doesn't matter if they need to come out. I've dot another doppler this pm so keep you posted xxx
PC-I think you must be on 2-3 weekly checks as your not quite as far gone? I dont think they like taking babies out before 32 weeks unless IUGR very severe. Have they offered you a steroid injection? Sorry I forgot how far gone you are. I had one last time once I was 31 weeks so I'd already had it a week before little one was born to help lungs mature.
Its not just the baby weight they look at, they take doppler readings which monitor how much blood goes through placenta. If this reading is ok then it makes the docs happier. They also look at level of amniotic fluid and abdominal circumfrance of baby so if the other readings are ok then they tend to worry less. Whens your next scan so I can keep eye out for you. xxx0
