Ooh MV excited for you
Hope it is really happening now
I have just ordered a new Tankini from NextI was really put off by their £4 delivery charge but when I called the store to check stock they said they could deliver to store free of charge. Can't wait to be able to go swimming again, plus I might try out Aqua natal once I have it
I've been getting quite a lot of pain in my pelvisTrying to be really careful and not do too much, but just worried it seems to be getting worse. Looking on t'internet advice seems to be try and get treatment as soon as possible, I'm not sure if I should see the doc and try and get referred or just wait 'till my next midwife app and bring it up then (in nearly a months time).
Suspect I should go to the docs, but mine is rubbish - I had hip pain before, he told me it was untreatable but went & paid for physio for something else and he sorted it out at the same time, so don't have any faith in doc at all for this sort of thing.0 -
ooooo mv - excited for you!!!! my waters didnt break until I was in active labour and for me it was just a trickle not even worth mentioning lol. I really hope this is it for you and you have mummy cuddles soon
hello to everyone else - I seem to be moving up the list quite quickly although I feel like ive still got agges to wait!
Been trying to organise what to do for ds's bday usually I take him to the zoo but as thats 5 days before my due date I dont think thats going to be possible lol. Also I think having a party with everyone round at that stage in my pregnancy will be a bit too much - am I a terrible mother? I was thinking just having people visit throughout the day in little slots might be more manageable for me and still enjoyable for ds1.
Just hoping new addition doesnt arrive on ds's birthday I dont think he'll be too impressed with that lolI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Morning Ladies
Am back from my flu jab (and sneaky Mcdonalds breakfast!) Lablover your dog sounds like my cat - since I've been pregnant he climbs on me and tries to sleep as close to my b00bs as possible, wouldn't be so bad if he was little but he weighs over a stone and it feels like my ribs are breaking when he puts all his weight on me!
Ooh MV im excited for you! Hope today is the day!
Sammy Teenie added me to the list yesterday but I seem to have disappeared again. Could you put me back on please 27th July.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Hello everyone
Argh this thread has so many people on it now. Team that with everyone piling work on me as I only have working days left and I am finding it really difficult to keep upI think they are trying to make the most of me while I’m still here!
Sorry if I have missed anything major – I just can’t get on as much as I’d like at the moment
Welcome to any newbies, I see through speed reading the thread there has been quite a few new mums to be that have joined us
Labour vibes to MV (and anyone else that needs them) hope it isn’t too much longer for you. I probably wouldn’t advise going anywhere today just in case as it does sound as if this could be the start of something for you.
Has anyone heard from Twoflower at all? I hope she is ok.
Hope everyone else is doing ok and all mums and bumps are fine and dandy
All is well here. DH assembled the crib on Saturdayso that is sat at the end of our bed, the new mattress arrived now we just need to get the bedding which we are going to get tomorrow
We had a trial run putting the Isofix base and the car seat into both of our cars at the weekend, was a little fiddly (mums and dads make it look so easy!) but after a few tries I think we got the hang of it a bit more.
I had my GTT test on Monday which I am pleased to say I passed with flying coloursThen yesterday I saw the consultant who seemed to be very happy with everything – she has referred me for a growth scan in 6 weeks just to check how big the baby is looking. This worried me a bit but she said from what she felt she doesn’t think he/she will be a big baby but because the abdominal measurement was on the higher end of the scale at our 20 week scan she just wants to double check they aren’t going to be a whopper. Personally I think he/she has just inherited mummy and daddy’s big bellies!
It’s scary to think that when we go for that scan I will be just 3 days away from being full term :eek:One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
Ohhh MV, how exciting! What about a little walk? Good luck xx
PC-I think you must be on 2-3 weekly checks as your not quite as far gone? I dont think they like taking babies out before 32 weeks unless IUGR very severe. Have they offered you a steroid injection? Sorry I forgot how far gone you are. I had one last time once I was 31 weeks so I'd already had it a week before little one was born to help lungs mature.
Its not just the baby weight they look at, they take doppler readings which monitor how much blood goes through placenta. If this reading is ok then it makes the docs happier. They also look at level of amniotic fluid and abdominal circumfrance of baby so if the other readings are ok then they tend to worry less. Whens your next scan so I can keep eye out for you. xxx
My dopplers are okay it's just the measurements that are tiny, so they think I just make very small babies which I agree with a bit but with DD my bump stopped getting bigger at 36 weeks up till then I always measured 1cm less then the measurements only went up gradually and I measured only 37cm at 42 weeks. So I think I make smallish babies but then some sort of IUGR sets in at the end. At delivery the midwife did say the placenta looked a bit ropey! I've just had a scan next one isn't for 3 weeks! 3rd of Feb I think seems along time to wait. The wigglers current estimated birth weight at 40 weeks is 5lb 14oz, based on his estimated weight now of 2lb. Head measurement was a little above average abdominal and leg length were well below.
MVIf you don't have a ball could you not bounce on the edge of the bed? and good luck!AKA: PC

Hey Fairy, i keep wondering about putting my crib together, its sat at the side of my bed at the mo in its box, i'm using it as a bed side table. Now you've put yours up, i might do mine :-):)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

SA-yeah, I know what you mean, although I was half expecting a IUGR bab this time again, its stil a shock when they actually tell you. Last time once the doppler reading got too high I was kept in hospital for monitoring and bed rest, having doppler every day and CTG 4x a day. My bab estimated weight was 5lb 10oz at 36+1 weeks but as you say its +/- nearly a lb.At this stage it doesn't matter if they need to come out. I've dot another doppler this pm so keep you posted xxx
Good luck for this afternoon. Spooky that our bubs are nearly exactly the same size at the same stage!!
I must of known in the back of my mind he might not be as big as I packed tiny baby sleepsuits in my hospital bag.
I am feeling much better about it now after a carp nights sleep.
As you say there are so many variables in measurements and my little fella hadn't put much weight on around his belly this time round but that might be because he was sucking in fluid at the time she was trying to measure him and he had his belly pressed against my back. But hey-ho, these things are sent to try us.
OH has told me just to sit and eat for the next couple of weeks to try and fatten him up which is a total contrast on his usual view on the subject!
MV - certainly sounds like you are in early labour to me, don't wait until your waters go before going into hospital though as I was delivering DD when mine went soaking the midwife, which serves her right for telling me while I was having bearing down pains that there was no way I was ready.
Good luck hun, I'll be checking all day now for news
Lillian - Hope everything is well with you and you are enjoying lots of mummy cuddles xx

Wow that's a good price. I nearly bought it but it doesn't say if the mattress/base height can be altered. Does anyone know if it can?
MV hope today goes well0 -
Just quickly popping in to say good luck and ((hugs)) to MV. My advise to you at the mo is to make sure you have your bag packed with lots of snack and liquids and it will be hard but try and rest hun, if this is the real thing you will need all your energy.
I too will keep a look out all day to see how you are getting on, and I'll catch up with eveyone else at lunch time"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0
