I just got my Avent newborn starter bottle set that I bought in the Mamas&Papas sale. Was disappointed to find that it was probably thrown around the DHL van as the box was looking a little beaten. Contents were fine though and I was pleased to see it was quite a big set for the £10 I paid. :)

I was only weighed at my 12 week appointment, havent been weighed since, the midwife said they don't anymore unless they have a concern.

:oHope they don't have a concern with me - nothing in my history to suggest anything and my BMI is in the normal range.

Perhaps she does it just for fun :D - that said my midwife has quite a heavy accent and I find it quite hard to understand what she is saying (not sure where she's from) so she could be saying anything half the time and I would be just nodding - I will raise any concerns with the consultant I think :)
  • The first stone you loose practically on day 1 as it's baby, placenta, and your waters. I then lost a second stone over the next 2 months sitting around doing little else but B/F change nappies etc no dieting no exercise, this was the extra blood, fluid retention and fat stores for BF. Anything after that I had to do something to loose it.
So based on my experience the 1st time I don't have a problem with gaining up to 3 stone, as dieting off 1 stone I find easy it's anything more and I start to struggle.

I saw this yesterday in Tesco half price and also with the Avent Microwave steriliser.

I used Avent bottles with my son and also the microwave steriliser which I found really handy was wondering whether to get as price seems quite good.:)
  • lol! - I was weighed at my 8 week and 12 week appointments with this pregnancy and recall getting weighed at each appointment with my other pregnancies - wish they wouldn't though! :o

You do not have to put up with this. I will tell them my weight (I tell the truth) but I refuse to be "popped on the scales" as they call it.

    It is mostly unnecessary.

I wish I couldn't understand my midwife sometimes. She's horrible! And looked down her nose at me for the whole booking appointment. She also asked who I lived with and I said my grandmother. Her eyebrows shot up and she made a rude comment of 'Have you even considered how your grandmother will cope with a baby in the house?' She said it in such a rude way that I had to hold in my urge to snap at her. My grandmother is actually a very active lady and is fine with the idea. The midwife also dismissed half of my questions, rushed through most of the family medical history question (as in, not giving me time to answer) and was just generally quite detached from the whole appointment.

I've only ever been weighed at my booking in apps with all 3.

I meant to say that I finally got my free changing bag from Verbaudet. I was told I'd get nothing as they were out of stock. So I complained through email and facebook. I didn't hear anything for 2 months then an email saying they are trying to deliver to me but I'd moved. So called them and they sent it here :T it's quite small but it's a lot trendier than my Boots one. I think I'll use the Boots one at first then change over when I need to take less with me.

Thanks Teenie :) I had the stretching pains a lot more with DD2, but they did seem to die off after a while so there's hope for you yet!!

Giz, I had a water birth with DD1, what sort of feedback are you after?

Hello I had a water birth with ds1 and will be having another with ds2 what did you want to know - Im not saying im an expert but I now have experience lol.
I want to know how wonderful it is :o Or am I dreaming?
Am I the only one who sleeps for about 10 hours? I know I am only 12 weeks gone, but I go to bed at about 12.30 got up at 11 today! I used to thrive on not much sleep but now I am STILL so tired when I go to bed, once I am back at university in a few weeks I'll probably be going to bed at 10/11 I only go to bed so late because I am sleeping in the parents living room and Mum goes to bed at about 11.45.

No doubt as I progress I'll be kept awake by an active baby. Although I was told, if you can train yourself to go to bed at the same time every night say 10pm, the baby inside should do as well?

Had my flu jab today, my shoulder aches :(
I'm 37 weeks and I'm sleeping for easily 10 hours. Went to bed at 9:30pm last night, probably fell asleep at 10, got up at 8 (only cos I set my alarm - don't like lying in too much).
When I was 12 weeks I was probably sleeping for 12 hours. I remember going to bed at 7pm some nights and getting up at 7am for work.

I've not felt baby while asleep. He/she has never woken me up.
    Baby Giz born 6/2/11

lol! - I'm not that fussed - knowing my luck it would prob take me longer to explain to her that I wasn't going on the scales - I agree that it does seem a bit unnecessary.

I'm hoping I get a different one tomorrow tbh as the booking in appt is the longest and took forever trying to spell everything for her

That's rubbish - do you have the same midwife each time?
