I wouldn't worry too much about your weight, the only reason I'm bothered is because I am very overweight already or to put it politely like the medics do I have a high BMI LOL! At your 16 week you will get BP taken, urine checked and mw will check for bubs heartbeat which is lovely. As far as i'm aware they wont weigh you at any appointments.

lol! - I was weighed at my 8 week and 12 week appointments with this pregnancy and recall getting weighed at each appointment with my other pregnancies - wish they wouldn't though! :o

i Hope so otherwise I defo will have massive stretch marks. The thing is there was an anorexic woman in my town who sorted herself out and managed to get pregnant , think she mustve been about 7stone soaking wet before she got pregnant, then all she had was a bump , didnt put weight on arms, legs and face, and her baby was born 8lbs. Think the wee critters have a way of getting all the good things they need without us having to eat like horses. My sis keeps saying just eat it if you want it , your going to get fat anyway, but Im really just trying to eat normally.think im blabbering but just think sometimes people take the "eating for two "thing a bit far , I want to stab my OH with a fork everytime he says it

With both my pregnancies I gained about 2 stone but looked massive (I am usually under 8 stone and a size 8 and I am also short)
I would agree with you that eating normally is the way to go if you can - your metabolism slows during pregnancy - In my experience I did eat more or less what I wanted with DS (first pregnancy and I did gain more weight and found it harder to shift than with DD) - my 2 are 18 months apart in age.

Re the stretchmarks - though I was massive with both my pregnancies I never had any stretchmarks and neither did my mum - I was told that it's partly heredity and dependent on your skin type so have fingers again crossed this time!;)

Thanks for clearing that up Garnet, I wondered about that too and just presumed she meant when i was breastfeeding.

((hugs)) to those feeling weepy today, just let it all out.

Yeah, I was told baby should still get some immunity even if not breastfeeding, which I'm not becuase of my meds. Although they will have longer immunity if you do b/f.

I just cried on the phone to DH. :o No idea why, think I'm tired and still recovering from the virus I had.

My bump gets bigger every time I look at it, no mistaking I'm pregnant that's for sure. I'm slightly concerned about stretch marks, I have some on my hips from years ago, and my belly button is shallower than it was! My mum was HUGE when she was having me, and she was very skinny to start with, no idea why because I was only 6lbs 4! She didn't get a single stretch mark though. I'm sure I have bio-oil somewhere, need to look it out.

I would have been having my 20 week scan today, but it was cancelled after getting it early. In fact no more appointments until 1st Feb, longest I've gone since being pregnant. :rotfl:

I picked up the Boots free changing bag the other day, I quite like it, unless someone buys us something else it'll do nicely.
 Mummy to an amazing little girl

I already have bad stretch marks , never gained a big amount of weight or lost a big amount of weight, its just my jeans , so I know I will get them , My boobs are covered in them already and Ive only went from a b cup to a c. Just using plenty of oils and creams. My mum bought me ASDA's own make stretch mark cream think its the mummys little angle brand, didnt even know they done one, think she got it the baby section. So using asda cream on thighs and bum , using bio-oil on belly and using plama butter stretch mark cream on boobs , its the one with the pic of the pregnant lady on the front. Might sound silly using three different ones but my logic is im using the most expensive one on the area I think will be bad (bump) using the next most expensive on boobs and then using the cheaper asda one on thighs. Oh god just read that back I sound like a right freak ,lol
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

:eek:I would go mad if they kept weighing me, I was only weighed once with DD and so far haven't been weighed with this one!

I've been eating for two for years lol! Im not too concerned with how much weight I put on when pregnant, just hoping it doesn't hang around for long afterwards. My sister gave birth last may, baby was 6lb 12oz and when she left hospital she wore size 8 skinny jeans. Her bump literally disappeared as soon as my niece was born but then she's always been the skinny one and able to eat what she wants - Ill end up looking like a cow!

Flu jab tomorrow morning - joy! May have to console myself with a bacon and egg mcmuffin before heading to work!

Thanks Pixiepops , that little set is fab , just registered for it , yay !!! Need to go and pick up my 1st bounty pack from boots 2nite after work. I also joined the asda baby club and got a voucher for a free newborn pampers or huggies pack and it said on it to take it to the till and I would get the pack , think it had nappies in it and a little cotton hat, anyhoo went to the till and the woman said they dont do it anymore? I had only printed it out a week before hand and it was valid untill the 13th July, she said to take it too boots? Not going to bother because it had asda printed all over it

Perhaps it varies from place to place?
I was weighed each time from what I remember with my first 2 (however that was 8-9 years ago now )
So far I've been weighed at each appt in this pregnancy so will wait and see what happens tomorrow at the 16 week check.
