Hey lovely bumpies
Have just totally confused myself reading back, kept missing a few pages in the middle (you have been a chatty lot!!)
Lablover, hope you are feeling better after your falls, they sound horrid but good news that bubs is still moving, I'm sure they're well protected.
Abby, love the sound of training the baby in advance, but not sure it will work. What I heard (sorry to dissapoint) is that bubs is rocked to sleep while you're active in the day, then makes the most of the space they have once you're lying down asleep. However at 27 weeks I'm only woken by him rarely (I have been waking but don't think its baby) so you have a while to make the most of your sleep (jealous!)
I also have my heart set on a water birth, so would be interested in any experiences with them - how soon can you get in, how much did it help, did you tear having baby in water (sorry if asking for TMI) and was there anything you didn't like about it (gosh I'm nosey!).
Had first antenatal class yesterday (we're doing the NCT ones so have 7 sessions) and it was pretty good - everyone seemed nice, plus they had books and cds to lend out so I have a book on active birth and a hypno birth cd for this week.
They talked through a natural birth, what to expect. She had a pelvis model and a baby and she showed how baby fits through, was quite mad actually.
She also handed around a bag weighed down with 2 1/2 stone of what the extra weight is in pregnancy (only to the dads) and I think it was quite an eye opener for OH!!
Sorry, can't remember any more! Hope all are well, labour vibes to MV and Make it 3 (think someone else is at the top too so also to anyone else who wants them!!).0 -
lotty I cried this morning - a text from OH saying "stop waking me up in the night!" that's literally all it said but it really upset me for some reason - I've turned into a big wimp!
the thing is nobody has said anything, my oh is working away which doesnt help. quite lonely really.0 -
Thanks Perdi , will look into the base , seems easier than faffing about with seat belts all the time. Ive had my 2 year old nephew tell me how to do it when Ive been babysitting, cant expect my newborn baby to pipe up with instructions.lol I did have another question but completely forgot.... oh yeah I was going to ask about changing bags (people are pestering me as to what they can buy us for the baby , but we have most of it sorted out so needing to look for stuff that they can get) I quite like the look of the free boots one? Looks pretty durable and matches the quinny we are getting. Any views of changing bags? I must admit I like a nice bag , have a few pauls boutique ones and some radley and leather river island ones but for some reason I dont know that I want the handbag looking changing bag?If that makes sense? Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

I was talking to OH about it this morning as I knew there would be people unsure. He says the swine flu vaccine has now had the same tests that any other vaccine has had. If I understood him correctly the flu jab itself has been around for years so there will be children around if that's your concern, all that happens is it's just different strains in it each year, the delivery method is the same.
Thanks for the info Perdi, it's just the swine flu part of it that worries me as it has only been around for a yearish, so there can't be any longer term results for the children who's Mam had it.
PC I was set against getting the flu jab as I feel there hasn't been enough testing done either but the MW reassured me when she said it was a dead vaccine and wont cross the placenta. It is (for me) a very difficult decision but have to weigh up the pros and cons.
It's so confusing, as they also say it protects the baby after it's born? so how can that be if it doesn't pass over the placenta?

They use a different flu strain every year, depending on what is around at the time, the fact that it's swine flu this year doesn't really make a difference TBH, it's a flu the same as any other.
It's not the vaccine that passes to the baby, it's the antibodies that your body makes as a result of having the vaccine that the baby then gets. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

Afternoon everyone.
Hope Lillian is getting Mummy cuddles!
It was my OH keeping me awake last night. He was on nights two nights before and so has messed his sleeping pattern up a bit. So at four am he decides to get a packet of crisps and eat it very noisily next to me...
Teenie and Ice - I have put on about 16 lbs I think, I am trying not to worry too much, still in guideline allowance but should prob eat a bit healthier.
I am 26 weeks today yay.0
