Oooh MV, I hope something starts happening for you soon. It's so exciting.

Hope Lilian is getting mummy cuddles by now.

Sorry to all of you struggling with sleep. I feel I've had this pregnancy easy compared to some of you. Had a few bad days, but they have been few and far between. I had some sleepless nights last week, but I've been fine again sleeping all the way through. Didn't even get up for the loo last night - but maybe that's a bad thing in that I'm not drinking enough?

I'm also thinking that I'm not getting Braxton Hicks. I thought I had 2 a few weeks ago, but nothing since so now I'm thinking it was just baby in a really awkward position.

Am seriously running out of tops that fit now. Despite saying I wouldn't ruin my 'normal' tshirts, I've been wearing them all the way through. But they are getting to the point now where they show a bit of skin under my belly cos they don't fit over :o I never bought a bump band, and I'm not going to now. Only 3 - 5 weeks to go :j Oh...I just realised, I'm full term today (37 weeks) :j Scary.

OK who is due soon and wanting a waterbirth? If I recall noone has been lucky enough to get their waterbirths - or if they did they didn't write a birth story on it.

4th nite running now I've woken up at 4am. Not 3.59 or 4.01, always bang on 4am.

It's not the baby as there's no movement when I wake unless I get upto the loo. Must be my body clock waking me up.

    Either way it's so annoying.

  • could well be the start of things to come MV, pink tinge stuff sounds like it could be your 'show' starting (plug) although mine started on the Sunday and labour didn't start until the Thursday night - I had thought once the plug came away the game would start! was so disappointed! Might be a good idea - if you feel like it to keep a bit active - if labour is going to start then a bit of movement and activity would possibly help accelerate it. even walking up and down stairs would be good - not that I can do that now! The trickle sounds hopeful too - if you get anymore - you might have to give it a sniff - see if it smells like man juice! that would indicate your waters have gone. eeeewwwww!

Sleep - whats that then?? I am thinking I am going to get more once this baby is born than I do now! can count on 1 hand the number of nights I have slept through since finding out I was PG with this one! usually awake by 3.30 or 4 every morning and thats after about 3 loo trips too! If I get 2 hours straight through I am doing well....

RLT has gone! and am off to purchase my Arnica today. More I think about it the more perks I can see to an elective section! trying not to think of the down sides!

  • well I have just caught up with everything and cannot for the life of me remember what I was goint to type lol.

I empathise on the tiredness, back hurts so everytime OH rolls over I wake up as the bed moves. DD keeps banging the side of her cot in her sleep (she is going into her bed on Thursday), OH is also snoring and coughing during the night, The joys! I am just destined to have naff sleep.

Oh and I have come down with a cold so amm feeling very sorry for myself. Sorry to have a misery me post. Am going to try to watch OBEM on 4OD in a bit.

    Morning all!
    So hard to keep up.
I haven't slept through the night since I got pg either.

MV I hope this is the start of everything for you.

Giz, I can't believe you're full term, I remember you joining the TTC thread! I'm keen to hear about how things go because of our shared issues, and any tips you have!

Had my midwife appointment yesterday. Got to briefly hear the heartbeat. :)
Also had my triple test done. She did it on my right arm as it had a better vein but I have tendonitis in that elbow and I think she hit something as it's really painful today. :( Ah well it's an excuse not to go the gym!

    Morning ladies :D

    Have finally stopped blubbing LOL!

Sorry you ladies are having such a problem with sleep, it's rubbish. I'm not having the best of sleeps at the mo but (fingers crossed) there are not many night I am lying awake for hours. I did keep wakening up last night with a really sore throat, but it seems to fine this morning.

Does anyone else get a REALLY dry mouth at nights? For some reason I keep sleeping with my mouth open (don't have a blocked nose or anything so not sure why, and I don't usually) and that is not helping things. I used to drink 2 ltrs water every day plus cups of tea, but I really can't manage that now without throwing it up so wondered if this had anything to do with the dryness at night????

2girls it must be a relief for both you and your OH and it sounds like it is definately the best thing for you both x

MV finger crossed things start happening soon, I never had a show last time so wouldn't know what it looked like and my waters didnt go until I was well into labour sorry can't help :o

Sammy moan away hun, you hardly complain on here so go for it.

Nic glad you feel ok and it doesn't hurt at least that's it over and done with now. How are you feeling, generally? Hope your ok?

Giz yeah on being full term

Finally took the plunge and weighed myself this morning so have put on 12lbs since booking in (but more than that as i lost weight at the beginning) so going to have to be more careful with what I'm doing i haven't really been watching what i'm eating. :o Wedding ring far too tight so have taken it off, I couldn't wear any rings with DD so was expecting it.

Has anyone signed up to free parentstuff.co.uk? Seen an ad on FB and just wondered if it was worth it?

Hmmmm, yeah I keep putting that side of things in the back of my mind. I have to remember that my psychologist said that it's very different pushing something out rather than letting something in and that my body will change for the occassion and there's no reason it will hurt any more than for anyone else.

My biggest worry is internals. I've been told they don't do them routinely the way they seem to on the OBEM hospital. But for the pool they have to check you are enough dilated to get in, so I won't have a choice but to have at least one. I also hope I won't need a pessary or my waters broken or any of those things. Fingers crossed for a natural birth eh?

The one thing I was worried about was DTD again. We hadn't done it since conception, but I've um been in the mood all week :o and we've done it a few times. After 8 months of not doing it I was scared of being back at square one, but I had no problems :) It was also good doing it for fun and not for baby making and worrying about sitting with my legs in the air afterward!

I get the dry mouth thing too Teenie. I have a galss of water next to the bed and I have a sip each time Io wake up (which is often!) not too much though as it makes the trips to the loo more often!

I sympathise about the weight too, 16 pounds on here! Need to just eat my meals and not all the other carp!

Hope everyone is OK and we get some baby news soon. Labour vibes and a poke to MV lol

I know they're not for everyone, but I have to admit tht I love my bump bands. Been wearing them since about 20 weeks, even though I barely had a bump then. I don't have to worry about gaps, and they stop draughts and keep me toasty warm.

Good luck MV I hope you're getting your mummy cuddles soon.

Well, I woke up at 4am too. Waddled to the loo for a wee, waddled back to bed and lay awake till 5ish. Alarm went off at 6 so that I could get breakfast at the right time. Then had a snooze till 9.

Feels a bit odd not doing any work. Although I did have to bring a project home with me, so I may work on that this afternoon (shhhhh, don't tell DH)

Teenie my mouth is like a desert most nights. I have a bottle of water by the bed and keep having to take swigs whenever I wake up. I'm sure it's to do with being pg as I never had it like this before. Means even more trip to the loo as well :( I struggle with drinking water most of the time as it makes me nauseous, and sometimes sick. Have you tried drinking anything else - squash, juice, lemonade etc? I know that dehydration can make me feel sick too, so it's a viscious circle sometimes. Do I drink and be sick, or not drink and be sick???

Right, off to make a list of all the things I need to do while I'm on ML (sleep, more sleep, painting, sleep, washing, sleep)
