  • Well ladies the landlord fixed my heating and I had a lovely hot bath earlier which I though would ease my back pain, but sadly not. I headed out to McDonalds to try and cheer myself up, but that didnt work either, now I feel like a bloated whale.lol. Cannot get comfortable at all and really just want this baby out now. (sorry for the moan)

Havent got much to add with regards to breast pumps as I wont be breast feeding.

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

    Evening all!!!

How are we all tonight? Hope those who have been feeling rubbish are feeling better, and labour vibes for those in need... its been very quiet on the birth front lately! Not that I want it to go quickly as the more ppl give birth the higher up the list I am!!!!!!

Just been on a tour of the labour ward at the hospital, was great to see everything. Am in Germany and have heard the care is quite different to UK and was really reassuring to see everything.
33 weeks tomorrow and got scan in the morning :T Me and hubby have been talking about whether to find out the sex or not and I have to say its now becoming VERY tempting... but equally I like the idea of a surprise on D-day... so will see what happens tomorrow.

Annibee - sorry to hear about your money situation. Things always seem to break just at the wrong moment. Hope you are feeling a bit better now you have let the anger out!!!
Ref cheap fridges - have you checked on ebay for any 2nd hand ones? Or are there any local 2nd hand stores where you may be able to pick up a bargain?

I will stop waffling now. Hope you are all having a good evening :)

    Morning All!

    How is everyone today?

My hips/pelvis are sore today, all this walking and bussing to get dd to childminders then myself to work and back again is starting to take its toll. Oh well, driving test soon so hopefully *fingers crossed* I'll pass and make life a bit easier for myself!

    xx
You'll definitely pass ;) Do you have a date for your test yet? I'm still waiting on a car, I was hoping to have one before my next midwife appointment but it's looking unlikely... :(

Then she informed me I would have to see the anaesthetist "just in case there are complications" !!!!!! is that all about. Turns out since I have a high BMI it is now standard procedure. I know why they do it but I just felt I was getting a good bit of fat bashing today :(.
You don't "Have" to if you don't want to... If you've had one natural birth with no intervention then there's no reason this one should be any different... I was offered it with DD2 and I went along, and because I'd already delivered one baby with nothing more than a chug of gas and air she didn't really know what to say to me so gave me a lecture on healthy eating  I politely declined this time... I'm sure in an emergency situation the anaesthetist on duty would be more than qualified to make the descision for me...

Also - I was looking at baby blankets. With my DD I bought the cellular ones as I was advised to layer up. I seem to remember them being quite expensive as I bought loads to layer up and down. I've just noticed fleece ones on the mothercare website. I thought we wasn't supposed to use fleece?! Any advice gladly received!
I used a combination of fleece blankets and hand knit ones second time around... The important thing is not to over heat the baby so just use some common sense and don't use 14 blankets and it'll be fine ;)

My friend just turned up unannounced... My worst nightmare!! But still... At least I was dressed today!! :rotfl::cool:

Annibee, could you put out a plea on freecycle? We had an old printer hanging around for months, if someone had asked, they could have had it... I ended up giving it to the tat man...

I feel quite lucky as so far I've heard nowt about GTT, even though my Dad has diabetes. I'm assuming that it's because my wee has always been fine, plus they are very aware of my needle phobia (the MW has written it in big letters on my notes so that they see it when I go in to hospital!). I'd never manage a GTT. I'd be horribly sick for not having breakfast, have hysterics for the first blood test, then throw up the glucose drink and have hysterics for the second blood test.

Annibee - try freecycle for both fridge and printer. Stick a wanted ad up and see what happens. Don't forget a quick explanation of why you want it (baby due, fridge packed up)- always seems to work better than 'wanted, fridge'

2 more days at work to go. My head of department is getting a bit worried now, which is a nice compliment. I've got to spend tomorrow handing over the bulk of my projects to other people (not that we have many staff members left) and making sure that I've got all the spreadsheets that I maintain, up to date.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
  • I may sound a bit dim here but what is freecycle?
