BargainPrincess wrote: »Is it normal to feel really emotional near the end? I just can't seem to stop crying and feel really down. I think it is partly cause my family don't live close by and I am really missing them and don't really know many people in the city. I guess work took up so much time that now I have finished I am feeling lonely. My DH is off work until next Mon but I will probably be worse when he goes back.
Oh and I am really, really scared about labour and just hope everything will be alright with the baby.
Hello to repet everyone else its normal to feel emotional all through pregnancy - and probably a few weeks after too ah the joys lol.
Where are you based is there any shops nearby you could just go for a walk around every few days just to get yourself out and about?
I too have my family v far Im in essex and my mum is in scotland!!!
We have skype now so we chat on there occasionally.
Apart from that I moved 220 miles 2 years ago so i dont know anyone in or near my area either! have a look on netmums.com they do a few meet a mum's if you would be interested - Im a little too nervous for that so I get my social fix from here at the moment (hmmm maybe that makes me sound a bit sad!)
and worrying about the labour is normal tooI was Miss panic a lot last time I havent got worried about it yet but Im sure I will. You wont panic when your in labour trust me youll be too busy to worry lol.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Thanks Ladies - Guess I just needed a bit of reassurance from others in the same situation. My DH has tried to be understanding but even he is finding the hormones a bit crazy at times!!
I had been feeling good throughout the pregnancy but the last few weeks seem to have been quite hard.
Due in 10 days -OMG!!!! Been feeling really uncomfy the last few days and am convinced things are about to start any minute!! Lack of sleep isn't helping with my emotional state either. We are also in the middle of moving house so not ideal timing.
I guess no-one ever feels completely ready...0 -
Congrats Little Princess and another great name too. Also thanks for taking some of the pressure off us January ladies.
Had my belated 38 week MW check today, all is fine and I'm 3/5 engaged, but otherwise no indications I'm going to be any earlier than my EDD. Because my 38 week check was late I'm now booked in at 40+5 for the next one and they'll do my first sweep if I'm still hanging on in there then.
Also, saw the GP at the MW's advice to get some pain killers for birth/afterwards and asked about the flu jab. But before I could even finish my questions the needle was in my arm. Hope I've done the right thing by having it, apparently it does provide some immunity for baby too.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Hi everyone.
I hope everyone is well.
I'm 13 weeks + 1 or at least we think I am until I get my scan.
I already have 3 kids, 2 boys aged 16 & 14, 1 girl aged 12 so finding myself pregnant again was a bit of a shock but great news.
I've been feeling really emotional too & can literally burst into tears at anything & everything so I guess it's pretty normal.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

its true and even after pregnancy you will have moments of "what the heck am I supposed to do"
remember with lo after the midwives left and I just had this tiny (well large actually) baby and I was like eh  what am I supposed to do now lol
even now nearly 3 years on theres times where Im like "oh my word I have no idea what Im doin" lol
Being a parent is the strangest transition you will ever go through and is a constant change
my advice is try and have a nice relaxing last few days before your bundle of chaos arrivesoh and try to sleep whenever you can just in case you go into labour in the night and your exhausted.

Welcome BCS - when you know your due date be sure to let us know and we can add you to the list!
I feel like a proper lady - am bored of having to make 2 cups of RLT a day and it's going to get worse next week, so have just dug out a pretty teapot purchased for my baby shower (yes, from the charity shop!) and have made my two cups in that. Can just drink from it for the rest of the day nowMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
