I'm awful tired... DD2 decided 5:43 was her wake up time of choice this morning... I tried putting her up for a nap and having a sly one myself but as soon as I was drifting off a friend of mine rang to tell me her waters had gone and asked how she could start off contractions, then half an hour later my Dad sent me a text, then half an hour after that the postman came and I was halfway through a dream and jumped out of bed because I wasn't sure it was real, and of course DD2 woke up then... I got more sleep dozing on the sofa yesterday while she climbed on me than I did today!!
Krystal - will be a fun weekend getting everything out
An eventful morning for you this morning! Hope the postman brought something worth the wake up call and you are having a more relaxing day now!Rockinbikergal wrote: »am going to try my wheat doggy tonight GFH. went back to bed for a while there and was checking comfy positions and managed to find one which has me lying on my from with one pillow as support for bump (it's a cow shaped feeding pillow so bump just sits in the bit that will go under my boobies hehe) then draped myself over my V shaped pillow with my wedge then behind that to make sure my neck doesn't suffer.....doesn't sound very comfy but I managed to doze for half an hour so it must have worked....will let you tomorrow if it works tonight lol
Janinie I had about a fortnight of leave to use and decided to use it gradually and cut down to a 4 day week as I was finding I was shattered by a Wednesday evening so started taking a Wednesday off....I didn't actually get a break on those days as I had Drs appt and hospital appts etc but I still got to put my feet up if I needed to which was a great help
As for my hospital bag....my best friend is doing mine as my pressie for getting preggers and making her a surprise auntie from em lol so I will find out tomorrow night what else is needed for it when she pops over.....she is also organising a shower for me which I don't know if I am excited about or not (due to the family stuff over Christmas and New Year lol) xxxxx
RBG - I like the idea of a few shorter weeks, that might work better for me than a whole week off. Hmm... will have a think about that one. Need to get myself back to work first :rotfl:
Oooo lucky you, what a lovely friend! Am sure the baby shower will be great. Let us know how it goes when the day comes

Oh and I am really, really scared about labour and just hope everything will be alright with the baby.

Hi BP
Don't worry about feeling like this - your life is about to change immeasurably and while it's exciting it's also really scary, plus your hormones will be all over the place. Could you try and find a little hobby to take your mind off it while on leave? Even if it's just selling a few bits on Ebay - means there's extra money coming in as well.
My family are about 200 miles away but I try and speak to them daily, and I don't really know anyone in my town but have a lot of friends from work so am going to really try and keep in touch with them.
Where are you based - are there any coffee mornings you could go to? Our local bumps and babes group seems great, I haven't been yet but have met a girl who runs it so will try and go next week. How about swimming classes?
The thought of labour is really scary but all the people in the world wouldn't be here had someone not gone through it themselves, I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine and so will baby. It'll be over before you know it and you'll have a wonderful gift at the end of it all to take your mind off any horrors!

Hiya, I cant comment on whether it is normal near the end... however I would say that it is normal throughout pregnancy for emotions to be all over the place.
When are you due? Now you have finished work is there anything else you can keep yourself busy with (eg sorting out baby's room? washing baby clothes/bedding? treating yourself to some beauty treatments? making some meals to freeze ready for making meal times easier once little one arrives?)
Not much anyone can prob say ref the fear of labour/birth... I think its natural to be concerned but just remember millions of women worldwide go through it and in the majority of cases everything turns out well. Dont know if that helps much .... if you ever want a moan or anything post away, this may help ease your concerns!

I have been emotional the whole way through but am finding the tiredness is getting to me and making me cry more so it could be that your hormones are all over the place again....as for having a baby it's scaring the bejesus right outta me lol.....I am also up in the city away from family but I prefer it that way as they would be sticking their noses in too much, my best friend works up here so calls over after she finishes work etc and I have a wee network of friends built up to text if I get really bad....when baby comes along I am going to go join the local community centre as they run mother and toddler groups etc so maybe you could check out what is available around you for afterwards and just use the next few weeks to have some time to yourself while you have the chance, that's what I'll be doing after next Thursday

Hi all, it seems like I have jumped the queue a little bit...Eloise Eve (her middle name was chosen last minute in honour of the day I went into labour!) was born New Years Day (giving her the fantastic date of birth 1.1.11) at 4.48am weighing in at 6lb 12oz, and she is the first time I have managed to be early for anything!!!My question may be simple...but please don't assume that I am0

Congrats!!!
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
