Good luck for this afternoon lwcus, hope everything is good for you!
32 weeks!! Crikey that must have been scary!!
Re examinations, I had one on Mon just to check if I was dilating but I wouldnt have had one otherwise. With dd they let me go overdue a few days before giving me a sweep, that was my first examination 'up there' in the whole pregnancy. After that it was only when I went onto labour ward that they started checking how dilated I was.
I too am hoping to have some sort of wax done and if I mkae it that far will prob go for it around the 38 week mark.

Hi all,
Bit nervous this morning, I have my growth scan and doppler this pm. They weren't too happy with readings last weeks so I am bit nervous. Although I know things will be ok as I'm 36 weeks.
Baby is 4/5th engaged (I also have a mw friend who checks me over!:D) I'm having back ache and shooting pains and need to wee very often-I know these are common pregnancy symptoms but will be intruiged to see if I have an UTI?
Re, packing hospital bags early- yes, I think its wise. Had my first baby 32 weeks and took me completely by suprise. It was nightmare telling OH, can u bring me this and this and having to explain where everything was. I can remember asking him yo fetch my black bra and old big knickers and he'd bring down my g-string and wonderbra!!! Dont know what he had in mind!! Was just lucky I'd ordered cot and pushchair etc on internet the day before.
Q- at what stage does mw start examing your cervix for signs of dilation etc. I want to have down there waxed/tidied up before the birth but dont know when best to do it.
xx
lol!!!
I cant remember them checking last time till the day I was due.
if it helps Im planning on getting waxed 2 weeks before my due date then even if i'm 2 weeks late again then it shouldnt be so badalthough be warned the waxing can set off labour towards the end so dont leave it too late unless you feel ok about the possibility of waters breaking when only have one half done :rotfl:

Baby no 4 of 7 from my NCT group arrived this morning.
I'm next supposedly.
I can't feel anything much though so reckon as my own EDD was 17th Jan rather than the 10th (that MW gave me at 12 wk scan), I may go over.
My poor back is suffering now though so fingers crossed it doesn't drag on too long.
Oh and my Medela breast pump arrived this morning, so think we have everything now..woohoo!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Haven’t been on much recently and don’t have time to read back from where I left off as I think it was about 25 pages ago. So am going to have to do a blanket post I’m afraid.
Congratulations to any new mummies and labour vibes to all those in need hope those babies start making an appearance soon
Had my 29 week appointment with the midwife yesterday, everything was fine measuring exactly as I should be so that was good. I have my GTT test on Monday which I am not looking forward to so trying to resist the Quality Street leftover from Christmas!
Other than that I have 22 working days left after today :j not that I’m counting or anything
Have realised I really need to start sorting the house out, declutter a bit to try and make some space for all the babies things and we also need to get the remaining things on our list.
Hope all ladies and bumps are wellOne day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -

Good afternoon All!!!
Thanks to all for the replies re: Maternity Leave. I have about a weeks worth of leave left and am thinking I may now tag that on before starting ML, for an extra break. Although I dont have to use the leave as I could tag it on at the end of ML, but the closer I am getting to D-day the more tempted I am to finish work earlier. Will also save my colleagues the stress of me going into labour at my desk, haha!!!
Was supposed to be back at work yday but still suffering with flu (well it doesnt seem like the flu anymore as it has died down) so not been back yet. Getting frustrated with feeling ill now, got so much to do both at home and work and just not got the energy to do any of it.
Whoever asked about packing hospital bags, I think it was DueMarch11, thank you for bringing this up. We are going to do ours very soon and this gave me a quick reminder
How are you all feeling today? Hope everyone is happy and healthy!!
Got our last scan on Friday morning and we are still planning on keeping the sex a surprise... but it is getting VERY tempting to find out now with only 7/8 weeks left. MUST STAY STRONG!!!
Have a good day allx

I keep thinking about packing my labour bags, but seeing as all the baby clothes are in the built in wardrobe, and DH has piled all the crap that needs putting in there right in front of the door... It might have to wait until the weekend...
I'm awful tired... DD2 decided 5:43 was her wake up time of choice this morning... I tried putting her up for a nap and having a sly one myself but as soon as I was drifting off a friend of mine rang to tell me her waters had gone and asked how she could start off contractions, then half an hour later my Dad sent me a text, then half an hour after that the postman came and I was halfway through a dream and jumped out of bed because I wasn't sure it was real, and of course DD2 woke up then... I got more sleep dozing on the sofa yesterday while she climbed on me than I did today!!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

am going to try my wheat doggy tonight GFH. went back to bed for a while there and was checking comfy positions and managed to find one which has me lying on my from with one pillow as support for bump (it's a cow shaped feeding pillow so bump just sits in the bit that will go under my boobies hehe) then draped myself over my V shaped pillow with my wedge then behind that to make sure my neck doesn't suffer.....doesn't sound very comfy but I managed to doze for half an hour so it must have worked....will let you tomorrow if it works tonight lol
Janinie I had about a fortnight of leave to use and decided to use it gradually and cut down to a 4 day week as I was finding I was shattered by a Wednesday evening so started taking a Wednesday off....I didn't actually get a break on those days as I had Drs appt and hospital appts etc but I still got to put my feet up if I needed to which was a great help
As for my hospital bag....my best friend is doing mine as my pressie for getting preggers and making her a surprise auntie from em lol so I will find out tomorrow night what else is needed for it when she pops over.....she is also organising a shower for me which I don't know if I am excited about or not (due to the family stuff over Christmas and New Year lol) xxxxxThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110 -
Is it normal to feel really emotional near the end? I just can't seem to stop crying and feel really down. I think it is partly cause my family don't live close by and I am really missing them and don't really know many people in the city. I guess work took up so much time that now I have finished I am feeling lonely. My DH is off work until next Mon but I will probably be worse when he goes back.
Oh and I am really, really scared about labour and just hope everything will be alright with the baby.0
