I wonder what people's opinions are on this. We are advised these days to put baby to sleep on their back, feet to foot etc. however my mum says it's best to put them to sleep on their stomach so that if they are sick they dont choke.
What does everyone think? Confused.com lol
It is very confusing but I think I read with DD (as this was my concern too) that babies will wake themselves up, as we would if we were being sick/choking or automatically tilt their heads to the side so it just runs out.
If you think about it death caused by choking on vomit happens when someone is unconcious so is either someone who has a serious underlying medical problems or has passed out from being too drunk to wake up.
My A/N classes were fab with DD and am hoping to go again, even if it's just to meet people who are due the same time as me. I suppose it does depend on the area."That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Evening ladies x
Congratulations to all new mummys x
Hope everyone is fit and well.
My back is flaming killing me, I can hardly walk because of shooting painDH is just laughing . Decided, in my wisdom to start ironing clothes at once instead of as and when *is lazy
* because DD starts nursery tomorrow and just thought it would cut out the faff. Anyway stood an ironed our entire wardrobe contents, so my own fault really.
I am sure this baby is going to come early, can't remember what I was like with DD but he seems really far down, feeling lots of little movements in lower pelvic area, plus shooting pains. Anyone else due round same time getting this or do I need to pack my bag? :rotfl:
Im due later than you but having the same thoughts - is this your 2nd too? maybe its because we're already stretched or something (bloomin hurts though being kicked down there!!! )I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

am just out of a lovely long bath and it was the best thing I could have done as it has stopped the BH and my back pain has calmed and I was able to see the amount of moving alien is doing which are also quite low down.

At the MW 26.1.11 and head has been down for me the last couple of checks he's just being a wee monkey and keeping me up all night so I think this could be to blame for my irritations as well....am heading off to bed now and am off tomorrow so will be about off and on when we are not sorting out his room, we're making clear headway there but it's not helpful when you take stuff to a charity shop and they don't want the stuff :S lol

Oh my... That's really tickled me!!:o
Ohh... And breathe... I *am* sorry you're in pain, and for laughing at your pain, but that mental image is priceless!!! Obviously you don't have a face in my mental image (would be weird if it was actually you when I don't know what you look like!!) and I have the Bo Selecta Michael Jackson - but that's what makes it funnier!!All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Evening all!!
Hope all ladies and bumps are fine and dandy today!
RBG - *Hugs* I found my braxton hicks were worse if I hadn't had enough to drink. I've been a bit more vigilant with fluids since the episode I had on NYE and I haven't had any since.
Lovely bump pictures ladies.
Welcome new faces!
Well, I woke this morning feeling decidedly un-pregnant but I could feel bubs moving around ok. I managed to eat 2 breakfasts and I was still hungry
Then started to worry because I did feel so un-pregnant and didn't feel so big as before. Anyway, looked in the full length mirror only to notice that I look HUGE and bump has dropped slightly and seemed to have grown out frontwards, if you know what I mean. I've also noticed the need to clean kicking in too, shame it wears me out so quick.
Popped to B & Q as FIL is decorating the bedroom & ensuite for us only to seem to make the poor chap serving me quite nervous! I did look down at one stage to make sure my waters hadn't gone!
Never experienced anything like it, I thought at one stage he was going to offer to carry the tin of paint to the car.
I'm only 35 + 3 and I thought I would still be able to pop the shops on my own for a little while longer, now I'm not so sure especially if I'm gonna start and make the staff feel on edge!
DD has been a little mare today but she confessed to me earlier that she is worried about going back to school just incase bubs starts to come and I need her. Bless. Didn't stop her backchatting me most of the day though.
Anyway, enough waffle from me, have a nice evening all, off for a lovely soak in the bath xVirtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -

DD wouldnt sleep on her back (for more than 10mins), wouldnt sleep swaddled. However she would happily sleep on her side or on her front. So I propped her on her side and she slept through the night. I was put on my front as a baby and am still here. To me it is a case of each to their own as long as you are happy with any risks blah blah blah lolDS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

If I remember rightly the first class was on stuff baby needs, stuff we should pack for labour and a bit about when to phone/go to hospital, car parking and where to park in an emergency.
The second was on labour and delivery...I found it useful because I got to see some of the instruments I've been terrified of and my mind has been put to rest a bit.
And lastly feeding...which was probably the least useful as I've done so much research of my own anyway. But still picked up some tips.Baby Giz born 6/2/110
