ha ha I'm not super women I assure you ... but possibly a little bit crazy ... My little boy turns 2 in april and (touch wood) is generally quite good! so am hoping it won't be to hard! ha ha but there is no way he would share his room .. giggle he is very independant and likes his own space ... don't mind doing the new nursery (actually quite enjoy it, when I get the time) and I am made up with my new furniture (wardrobe, chest of drawers with changer and bedside table for £28 ebay Bargin!!!)
Sorry to hear you been signed off with stress, thats the last thing you need! I am not very happy in my work either at the mo, and toying with the idea of training to be a child minder while off but worried about the cost!
So we are the same then, two little boys together?! ... Somethines I think would have been nice to have one of each, but I agree it saves on clothes and although they will no doubt kill each while young the should be close when older(fingers crossed)
oooo I love a bargain!!! and it must be nice doing another new nursery i wish we had another bedroom just for the stuff my little boy has accumalated lol.
yep we are the same boy city lol a lot of people who i know who have both say all they do is biccer (sp) two boys should be easy as they are easy going (wishful thinking prhaps but i believe to be true) and will probably like the same things and as they are close in age for both ours im sure theyll love each other!
I think theres a lot of money in childminding but I think you deffo have to be mad to do it lol My childminder was 800 a month for my lo fill time!!!! more than my mortgage!!! dont know what the costs would be to you to train but you may get financial help if on maternity leave dependant on oh's finances I guess. something to check out while your on mat leave though deffo! :cool:I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Yeah I think I am defo the crazy dort of person you have to be to look after a million kids (i would love it) I wanted 4 of my own but hubby put his foot down ...! ha ha ... I have looked into training you can get funding to set up but only once you have been approved and because we want/need to move house next year I don't want to get approved by the council in this house so all dependant on that really! WOW it does cost alot to put them in but I would try to keep my cost reasonable as I just wanna earn my crust to pay my bills in a job I enjoy ... Maybe I'll get there one day!
I agree boy's are more easy going ... and are also very loving ... always said I would never be one of those mothers who moddy coddled her sons .. but I think I am becoming the worstI will be debt free by 2016 :T

Happy New Year ladies!
Congrats to Tigerlee and Casperlarue who sneaked in 2010 MSE babies to get the final child trust fund vouchers.
MV sounds like you are romping ahead of me, being fully engaged. I'm hoping that the midwife says I've made some progress there when I see her this coming week, cos at 36 weeks babs was still floating free.
Well my NYE wasn't as bad as I expected, several very sweet people in the pub, got given a flashing fairy wand by one guy (from his fancy dress costume) for the baby and a student midwife came over to introduce herself just in case I had any twinges! Stayed up till two and probably had more bubbly than I strictly should have had.
Spent NYD having a big lunch and lots of laughs with several of our happily child-free couple friends - kind of sad to think we're probably fall out of their circle once baby is here.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Bloody cats,
Finished painting the nursery ceiling, window sill and radiator yesterday. Sat down stairs with the window wide open as the smell is horrible, closed it at bedtime.
Went in to give it final coat today, to find cat foot prints on the window sill, onto the window ledge back into the room and over the changer and toy box! Grr.0 -
Well done to everyone who managed a full nights sleep and welcome a day closer to the birthday!
Morning all, i'm up early today after a late night with hubby, he was on the internet while i was cooking tea, and kept running into the kitchen asking what did i think of this buggy, or, what about this name, he's so excited, doesn't seem at all fazed by the impact it will have on our lives. I said to him that we may need to change the dates of our summer holiday as it's preliminarily booked for August 19th-22 at the place we got married, only i'll be due about 2 weeks after that so don't really want to be in the middle of nowhere.
Quick question re tea, the drinking sort. I already drink decaf tea as i prefer the taste, but i also drink decaf green tea and peppermint tea, the peppermint tea is the one i'm a bit worried about, i probably drink 5-6 cupa a day when i'm off work, or maybe 2 when i'm at work. Should i cut it down, is it safe, i've checked a couple of websites and am getting conflicting advice so the question is, when you have a question regarding what is safe in pregnancy, and you can't ask a midwife or doctor, which website is most trustworthy. I'm not asking for medical opinion before anyone tells me off, i just want to know which of the many websites advsing mothers to be is the best one:)
So excited, still can't believe it. Oh, i'm getting headaches everyday, is this normal, not taken any painkillers as am worried about the effect but wondered if i should mention it to the doctor?0 -
Hi Ladies and Happy New Year!
Sorry, haven't had time even to lurk, let alone catch up! I will have a look back now to see what I missed....
In the meantime, I had a question as I'm going through the various baby stuff/hospital bag lists I've assembled in order to make my own:
I've been advised to get baby clothes in more than one size, I guess to make sure that they fit. I suppose that a non-MSE scenario would be that I bought too much, the baby turns out to be huge and I can't use the small size stuff.
(At my midwife appts she never says anything about the baby being big or small, just that he's growing fine)
In fact the whole issue of what a baby actually wears is a bit mind boggling to me anyway, but some of my lists break it down - so getting to the bottom of this is on my to-do-list today!0 -
Ecoelle,
a friend of mine also said to avoid peppermint as it causes the uterus to contract. This was after I'd been eating peppermints anyway, and I've been absolutely fine. I'm really sceptical about herbal/holistic stuff anyway...
I'm 99% sure that this is the kind of thing that is nowhere near scientifically proved one way or the other - so you won't get a sure answer anywhere.
I would definitely advise; do whatever you feel comfortable with. So what if you give up peppermint tea for a few months? I've cut out quite a few things whilst pregnant, which I'd normally class as over-cautious behaviour for me, but I think what-the-hell - when my body just belongs to me again, I'll go back to normal!0 -
Thanks spaghetti Monster, it's not that i'm drinking it because of holistic blah blah i drink it cause i like it and wanted to check it's ok to do so. I think i'll give it a miss until i've seen the doctor and asked.0

I'm up early too, not getting much sleep these days, everything is just too uncomfortable.
Ecoelle, I wouldn't worry about peppermint tea, in fact it might help if you are suffering sickness or indigestion. But as Spaghetti Monster says you won't find clinical evidence either for or against herbal products so you just need to make your own mind up. Otherwise I find the babycentre website provides quite sensible advice.
Spaghetti Monster - Like you I have just been told baby is on track size wise, so assume I'm gonna have an average size one. I have just bought one size (up to 1 month) for now.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
