    Morning you lovely people!

Just thought I'd leave you a quick Christmas message, I'm at work until 12 and it's dragging so much!

Feeling a little bit worried, bump has been moving loads for a few weeks now but the last few days he/she has been really quiet and I haven't felt any big kicks. My partner says I'm just worrying over nothing and the baby is just keeping quiet whilst I rush about and get sorted for Christmas but I'm starting to feel paranoid. I'm popping to my mam's after work so I'll see what she says, she knows how much of a worrier I am and I think I just need her to put my mind at rest!

Anyway, I wish all you ladies and bumps a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!:p

How far along are you Alfalfa?

If it makes all you guys feel better I am here until at least 4:30pm

We've never been sent home early in the 6 Christmas Eves I've worked here.

How many weeks are you Alfalfa? I've had quiet days, some around 28 weeks, then again around 31. But still passed the kick count test. Then the next day baby will be really active.

I was 26 weeks yesterday, don't know if I'm being a bit over sensitive, mentioned it to my sister who's had two kids and she said the baby will be fine, it's just not feeling that active at the moment but I can't help worrying!
  • Thanks for the reassurance about fundal measurements ladies, weighed myself and I have lost weight (how does that happen?) so maybe I'm carrying a little less padding around the middle at the moment. Bubs is having a right wriggling his bum from right side to left, its really strange to see!

Feeling smug now been for flu jab, nurse was very pleased to see me!!

DD is being a gem today :-)

Got ham boiling on the stove and just off to make some jam tarts - we don't do mince pies, neither myself or OH can stand them!

    Catch you later x

I'm sure everything is fine. I've felt a lot less movement today (35 weeks) but as long as you can feel something then I'm sure it'll be ok. It's probably true that baby is being restful if you're more active than normal. Try the icy water and lying down trick :) If you're really worried though ring the Triage department at your hospital - that was what I was planning to do at lunchtime if I didn't feel more but he seems to be waking up now.

    Hello all!!!!

Poo to all the ladies who have to work today I feel sorry for you... If I was in work I wouldve had to stay till 4.30!!!!

Ive been feeling a bit down and heres why
Been at my work for over a year and we work a small office (4 of us) within a youth centre which has about 25 staff. Every Birthday etc I have put in collections or bought presents for the ones I work specifically close with.

Anyway went in for my last day on Tuesday (my birthday was on the saturday before) I didnt get anything!!! I thought I might have got a bloomin Good luck with your baby card at least but no NOTHING!

Sounds silly and I dont know if its just me being over emotional but as soon as I got into my car I burst into tears. I havent had the best time at this job but feel I always put in 100% and I am a genuinely nice person so I just cant understand :( Someone please tell me Im not being silly and that would upset others as well.

Makes it worse/better - OH has been coming home with a different gift everyday from the people in his office (some he doesnt even know) for the baby knitted stuff and teddys all lovely and thoughtful and its nice but it just makes me feel a bit disappointed.

Anyway glad to be on maternity leave (doc signed me off 3 weeks early due to stress) although nesting instinct has now firmly kicked in couldnt sleep last night because I was mentally measuring bedroom for where we will move everything to drove OH mad he was like "why are you just staring at the wall" :rotfl:
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Never Look Down on People unless you are helping them up

I had a similar thing at about 24 weeks and popped to the hospital to get checked out. Everything was fine, baby is probably having a growth spurt but if you continue to worry contact your hospital like Lilian said.

Am I just being really daft but what's the icy water trick?! I used to be pretty intelligent person but since I've been pregnant my brain has turned to mush!

Thanks for the reassurance guys, I'm going to wait until later this afternoon and if I haven't heard anything I'm going to give the midwife a ring.

    Hugs x

My place has been exactly the same! I know I've been signed off for a little while with stress & SPD but after being in the same job for almost 5 years with the same staff you would think they would of done or even said something but nothing, not good luck or nothing. Just a call to ask me to pick up my personal stuff because they are moving offices next week!
I feel I been turfed out!

Sorry - drink a glass of cold water or some cold orange juice, then lie on your side - apparently you should feel movement within 20 minutes but it's not an exact science!
