That's Mr Hanky to you.
I'm gonna get the jab once my antibiotics have finished so will call the surgery tomorrow. Don't think I'll be well enough/off the drugs until Monday.0 -
The subject of flu jabs came up in my antenatal class on Tuesday as none of us had been contacted and advised to get vaccinated.
The midwife was of the opinion that if you normally get one do, if not don't especially just cos your pregnant.
I really am in two minds - I was ill with a severe cold a couple of weeks ago and it really hit hard - still got a chesty cough. But equally, thinking I'm so near to the end now and I'm hardly going out and meeting anyone to catch anything from.
Well better get off to bed, that's if I can sleep with worrying about my birth plans now:(We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
I am jumping on the not told about flu jab band wagon lol.
My mum informed me of what was on the news.
Rang GP said must go through midwife. Midwifes phone was off for 2 days. Got hold of her yesterday and booked in next thursday. "if the surgery still has some stock".
It really feels like no one cares that much about it.Baby Girl Born May 2011Baby Boy Born Nov 2012

Morning! I only had the flu jab because I always get it through work - my midwife/GP never asked about whether I'd had it. Definitely worth getting though!
Thanks Hitchins - unfortunately contractions settled down when I went to bed but still slept badly as I was hoping something would happen.
Better go and dig the car out - I'm meeting the other women from my antenatal class this morning. Love to all.0 -
Been lurking due to not much going on pg-wise and last few crazy weeks of work!
I had my flu jab because I got ill twice during my first trimester and struggled more than normal to recover. It's just not worth the risk imo. I wouldn't normally bother with it.
It does annoy me that there's been so many strong warnings on the news for pg ladies to get it and dispairing at the low take up (had they not noticed the weather?) yet at the same time GPs have low stock or aren't pushing clinics, and that midwife telling people not to bother is downright irresponsible!
I would back dusty, the advice is if you are pg get it, and it is for a good reason this year. But if due to weather or things you can't get to the surgery I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, just take care of yourselves.
Last day at work today, only in for the afternoon so we can go food shopping this morning. The extra half hour in bed was much needed!0 -
Time for Plan B Ejecoms......the deed!!
Just tapping my fingers waiting for surgery to open, and I shall book myself in.:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0
