  • Thanks Garnet, I wonder why neither my GP or hospital midwives have mentioned this to me???

I was swabbed for MRSA at my 36 week appointment last week, but no mention of flu!

    I'll ring them tomorow.

sorry this prob been covered too but I've not read back yet. I had swine flu jab last yr so am I protected against swine flu?

Just an update and a whinge. I'm 34 weeks, my DS was born 32 weeks due to problem with placenta, so i've been having weekly growth scans. Anyway, results were not fab today. No terrible but I need to be checked again fri and they ight keep me in over xmas. Gutted as its the 1st yr my 2 yr olg understands about xmas and i might be missing it. Also gutted as when I went passed 32 weeks I thought all was going to be fine and I got my hopes up.
Sorry, just feeling sorry for myself. My little boy has been poorly all this week too so up at night loads and hard work in day as I've had to carry him round a lot and he's heavy for me being preggers.

Just a quick comment about swine flu - my nurse said it would also cover baby who wouldn't be able to have it himself for 6 months. Having read this story today I'm incredibly glad I had it:

As for work next week - I mainly don't want to go in as my boss who has worked there for a year has never spent any time getting to know me or my role, he's an idiot - and next week he wants to take me for lunch because "we've never had a chance to bond". I really can't stand him, he makes my skin crawl, and I think he would be better spending that hour getting to know my replacement! Ah well. We'll see - to be honest I was so uncomfortable at work today I may not even be up to it this time next week!

I think i might get it this time around. I didn't have the swine flu one last time because i finished work at 24weeks and was always at home on my own until DH came home.

But i keep getting colds this time around from Lily.

I'm so annoyed that no one has informed me about this! I was at the doctors last week, and had a hospital MW appointment too!

    Unbelievable!

  • Ladies, I'll say it again. Cos of my job I'm privvy to all the horror stories that don't make it into the papers. Please please if you haven't already had the flu jab please get it asap. It honestly is worthwhile. If anyone has any worries feel free to pm me and I'll share what I can. Hope this isn't seen as a lecture but I honestly urge every pregnant woman to get it xx
  • Dusty I have pm'd you x

    Same here :(

I've been kind of umming and arring over it, but after reading the posts tonight I shall ring the docs in morning. I am absolutely petrified of catching it.

  • Mv, I think I have replied but can't tell on stupid phone? Have u got it. If not, in a nutshell, get the jab. Not all docs will write to those at risk, mine didn't. Depends on the system they have in place.

If you haven't got my pm I'll resend it in the morning from my pc xx
