Why oh why has everyone got nice neat bumps and I have one that resembles a whale?!

I'm in the whale camp too.
Few buggies I like at the moment are the Quinny Buzz, and M&P Sola and Zoom. Want to give these a good try. Are you allowed to push the demos around the shop to get a feel of them? I realise we may look a bit silly, but hopefully anyone else in there will be in the same boat and not think we've gone mad and pushing an imaginary baby about :rotfl:
Also would like to have a go taking them down and maybe putting in the boot, is this a usual request?

Never tried putting them in the boot, but I believe in John Lewis you can do this. Def get the assistant to put it up and down and so on.

Anyone else totally knackered? Fairy you broken up yet??

:rotfl:me too, I have a double bump, at the bottom is my normal non pregnancy "bump" then above that is a decent sized pregnancy bump, looks very odd.

I don't feel very well tonight. Was throwing up this afternoon which is not that unusual but tonight I really feel quite sick, which is unusual. That's the thing with pregnancy sickness you never know if it is a bug or if you are just throwing up as normal. Going to bed soon.

mothercare let you put the childseats in the car so im sure theyd be alright about letting you try the pushchairs for size too.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

    Good Evening Ladies,

I hope you are all well and wrapping up warm in this cold weather. I know I'm rubbish lately - hardly had time to be on here. Just a quick read every now and then.

The weeks just seem to be blurring into each other, and I cannot believe Christmas is next week  Where did that come from??

Then 2 days later I turn 32 ()

3 days later DH turns 30 (my toy boy ;))

A week later we're taking a last child free holiday to Paris, and then the day after we're due back my sister's baby is due and I will be an Aunty for the first time :j

    Phew.

At least I get a rest before my baby girl makes an appearance :)

How is everyone prepared for Christmas? I did a load of shopping today, so just the last couple of presents to get from Boots tomorrow before the snow gets here. I really want the Boots OOTW, so may use my points to treat myself.

I was in the Card Factory today and got the grandparents to be Christmas Cards that says "From the Bump". Yes, they will think I'm crazy!!

Fanta - Love the bump and love the PJs :D

Off to make hubby some fajitas and will catch you guys later xx

PS - GFH - can you believe you're 26 weeks today :jI had my 26 week appt on Monday and got measured with the tape measure for the first time! Measuring spot on apparently. A bit miffed that the MW had run out of HIP forms, so waiting for her to post me one.

My waters broke last Thursday morning at 11.30am, started having contractions approx 3pm and was up and down to the hospital and finally at 9pm on thurs evening i was 5cm and finally admitted to the labour ward.

3.03am on Friday morning i give birth to Olivia Anne weighing a lovely 7lb 1. Discharged that afternooon at 3.00pm!! I had gas and air and then 45 mins before she was born i had pethidine, so when she was born she was in an incubator for an hour or so cause she was really sleepy from the pethidine.

Pethidine (I thought) done NOTHING for the pain but it made me drowsy and i was dozing between the contractions but waking up everytime i had one. At approx 2.30 i was 9.5cms and the mw decided i needed to start pushing, 28mins later and she was here.

It was hard work but completley worth it as she is the most beautiful girl in the entire world. had a few sleepless night but had 7hrs last night. it really is a 24hr job! Plus she wouldnt latch on as i apparantly have 'flat nipples' so ive been expressing and it is hardwork but shes also on forumla.

Hi, I've been lurking, but just wanted to say congrats to Kat. Apparantly I have "flat nipples" too and have been very successfully breastfeeding using nipple shields. I would really recommend it. At the last weigh in with the community midwife, Juliet had gained 11oz in 10 days.

Hope this helps if Kat is lurking too!

Yeah I'm sure we tried a pram in our car when we were looking for DD. Unfortunately there was a problem with the car seat (it was a 3 in 1) and it wouldn't fit, we had put a deposit on it when I was 12 weeks and we had a different car then and it was fine. Cue me bursting into tears in the middle of the car park LOL the poor woman didn't know what to do :o:o tiredness and pregnancy hormones at 30 odd weeks aren't a good mix. The most stupid thing about it was that I didn't even particularly like it and got to choose a nicer pram!:D

Congratulations Kat - lovely name :j
  • Thanks hun, will do so! May I ask what buggy/pram you went for in the end?

I got the maxi cosi loola. i found it light and easy to use and folds down the umbrella way so fits in car easy. Got the cabro car seat to go with it too

No tomorrow is the last day of term at our place. Unfortunately as I am admin staff I work 52 weeks a year so as everyone else gets excited and happy about breaking up I have to work all next week (including Christmas Eve) :(

I'm knackered it's been a long half term this one.

I saw those and was thinking of getting one for OH :)

Sounds like you have lots of nice things planned. Hurrah for toy boys - my hubby is my toy boy of 4 years :D

I shall definitely be heading to Boots tomorrow to pick up the OOTW. I LOVE Soap & Glory products and I have a £75 gift card for the local shopping centre which I got as my present from the birthfay club at work so I can take it off that :D

Took the decision to order the car seat and the Isofix base. Did really well on them both and got good deals on them :D

Ordered the base through Amazon - was on special offer from £115 down to £80 and then I had £50 voucher from a competition win so paid £30 for that and got triple Nectar points :j

Ordered the car seat from Boots - it was on offer from £125 down to £93.75, the 20% code that Dusty posted worked (thank you hun) and so that took it down to £75. Got 1302 Advantage card points and also got cashback through Quidco :j
So thats both sorted for just over £100 :T

Feeling very pleased with myself for being so MSE and getting two major things ticked off the list :D
